Celine Dion / Mariah (46,032) by Abraham from USA
It's so sad what Celine Dion is going through. Her husband's health, her illness. God help them both, and hope they can make it through. I'm not a fan, but I respect her. And wish her the best. As far as Mariah touring. No, I'd rather see her not tour. She should rest her voice. But I wish her the best as well. I will always support and believe in her. And I can't wait for her to start again with a new album. Release a good single and music video. Promote, and get her 19th number one. There are at least 3 or 4 songs on the album that could have been chart toppers, if "Touch my body" made it to number one. Surely "You don't know what to do" could have too. I really love that song. But am I the only one who likes the live version from "Good morning America" better? Well whether it was live, I don't care. She always comes through. I don't like "MOAIA" at all. But she didn't let me down with this album. She still has the talent to write and produce good music. Hopefully her and Jermaine stay friends and continue to work together. They are great together. I would say that as long as she has Bryan Michael Cox and Big Jim Wright, she will be fine. Those two men are excellent songwriters. I would say that I would also one day like Mariah to work with Walter again. I also would like to mention Pharell. The first time I heard "Say something". I wanted Mariah to work with Pharell in the future. That guy is talented and knows how to make and produce a good song. "Say something" is my favorite song from "TEOM". So they need to do something together sometime. I think it's about time.

Gerald / Shezz (45,984) by Abraham from USA
Gerald I agree. I too dislike "MOAIA". And feel the same way about the production, and music. But I like the new album a lot more. Shezz thank you. You're right, just wondered if Mariah still drank her honey tea, or whatever tea she drinks for her voice. I thought others, especially the webmaster would know what I meant. I didn't know I had to be so specific. But whatever, no one bothers me. I love this messageboard.

Real husbands of Hollywood (45,975) by Abraham from USA
I saw a commercial last night on tv of the show and I saw a clip of Mariah. She was wearing pink and said "Cut". It was funny. She looked beautiful. I like that hair style. I know about the show but I've never watched it. But just like someone posted, it would be great to see more of Mariah on tv. Maybe some kind of special or if she did another "Unplugged". I have been wanting her to do another "Unplugged", so she can show all the haters that she still can sing live, which I know she can. I hope she can resolve whatever problem she is having with her voice. I would suggest vocal rest. No singing, or talking for 2 or 3 weeks. Then some vocal exercises. I honestly think that Mariah hasn't lost her voice. She's lost the confidence. I was wondering if she drinks her tea?

I respect your opinion on how you feel about the album. But by you stating that "you don't feel it" because you think Mariah didn't sing with soul or about pain, are you suggesting that she have another breakdown with Nick in order to feel or like her singing? I don't need for Mariah to sing with soul or in pain in order to listen to her music. I just want to hear her voice and songs. I know a lot of people, and I have seen comments on YouTube who have said that they were disappointed with the album. And have even called it trash. And I say to myself, what? I don't know what people want or expect from Mariah. Hopefully the next album will change some opinions on how they feel about Mariah's music. She could record one of the best songs in her career and people will still have something negative to say. But I agree about "Heavenly", it is a great song.

Thoughts (45,950) by Abraham from USA
I think that the reason why the album did poorly in sales is because the number of times it got pushed back. People may have gotten fed up and lost interest. Which is sad, because I think it's one of her best. Another reason may have been the lack of promotion. For whatever reason Mariah decided to go through with the album, I'm just grateful she released some good music. I wouldn't feel bad if I was her. She should just focus on the next. Now that she has what seems to be. A good manager, she'll be more successful. In my opinion there isn't any female music artist in the music industry today who can hold a candle to Mariah. Or give her competition. In voice and music. I know she is capable of having another good, successful era. I believe she has some good songs already lined up and ready to go for the next album. Also, whether she's not confident as she once was as a singer. I would advise her to listen to some of her older albums. And watch some of her older videos. She needs to remember that she's Mariah Carey, and still one of the best female singers today. Who's voice will aleays be the best female voice I have ever heard.

I completely agree, I think it would benefit and be better for Mariah if she started fresh and released a new album. And if that album were to have good songs and videos. People who don't care for "MIAMTEC" might want to check it out maybe even buy it. I think I've been the main one here on the messageboard who has expressed my love and thoughts on the album. I think when an artist leaves you wanting more. They have done their job. I want another album as soon as possible. Hopefully by next year. I wanted to let you know that I enjoy your posts and love for Mariah. You always give good ideas, suggestions and topics.

JD (45,853) by Abraham from USA
So no more JD. As much as I love the guy, I'd say it's for the best. Jermaine is very talented, but he isn't manager material. I think we would all agree that we want the best for Mariah. And want to see her be more successful. I'm hoping she will get her 19th number one someday. Let's hope Kevin does his best and helps Mariah get back to the top where she belongs. "MIAMTEC" shows that Mariah is still a great artist, singer, song writer and producer. It's one of her best albums. I'm excited now. Things might turn around. Will she be re releasing the album with those 3 or 4 new songs?

Meteorite (45,791) by Abraham from USA
I don't think "Meteorite" is Mariah's worst song. Nor do I find it boring. I like it. It's something different, and unique. Very 70's, which I love.

There you go again. I'm sorry dude, but you're no fan. You always have something negative to post about Mariah. And if you're not putting her or her music down, you're criticizing her. Enough, I can't stop you from posting. But I can give it to you straight and tell it how it is. I could care less about Mariah's live singing. If and when she does sing live, great. I'll be waiting. But if that doesn't happen (which I'm sure it will) it's not going to affect or change how I feel about her. She's clearly going through something with her voice. Maybe it's the nodules? Who knows, but we're supposed to be supporting her. Not criticizing or knocking her down. It's always her hair, her weight, what she wears, her voice, the lip performances.

Shelly (45,780) by Abraham from USA
Really, that"s cool. I thought I was the only one. It's nothing personal against Celine. I think she has an amazing voice, and I like some of her songs. But I just would have preferred Mariah to have sung with R. Kelly in "I'm your angel". It's her type of song. And the gospel chorus in the end is so Mariah. I'm hoping Mariah saved "I'll still be around" or "Save the day" for whatever next she plans on releasing. Those 2 two songs based on their titles sound like they would be a ballad or gospel type song. (If they are actual songs)? Right now I'm really feeling and enjoying "Heavenly". I love it. I love when Mariah does these type of songs. No other artist today record this type of music. (At least I don't think they do?) I'm not very religious, but I just have a thing for gospel songs. And Mariah always does a great job. Someone needs to tell her to do a whole gospel album. It's good to know that other fans want the same thing.

My fantasy Mariah covers (45,775) by Abraham from USA
I thought I'd share some of the songs I'd wish Mariah would cover. Either now, or maybe back in her prime. I hope some of you know and like some of these songs? My favorite cover by Mariah is "Open arms".
1) Dq "I do love you"
2) Bobby Caldwell "What you won't do for love"
3) Whitney Houston "You give good love to me" or "Take good care of my heart"
4) George Benson "Never give up on a good thing"
5) Stevie Wonder "Overjoyed"
6) The Carpenters "(They long to be) Close to you"
7) Michael Jackson "You are not alone"
8) Patti Labelle "If only you knew"
9) The supremes "Love is here and now you're gone"
10) Billy Porter "Love is on the way" or "Preferably back in '97 or '98"

I am completely with you on Mariah doing a whole worship/gospel album. I have been wanting this from her for awhile now. I'd also like for her to record at least one jazz type song. Maybe similar to "The wind". Just piano and vocals. A duets album would be great too. The artists I'd like Mariah to record with would be George Michael (for sure), Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, Lionel Richie, John Legend, and maybe R. Kelly, just to name a few. The song "I'm your angel" with Celine Dion should have been sung with Mariah. It's her type of song, and I think she could have sung it better. Nothing against Celine. I just think Mariah has always had a far better voice. Even though some of the artists who I listed are older now, I'd still want them to give it their all. I'm sure they like Mariah.

B / Katy Perry (45,729) by Abraham from USA
I liked your post about the songs. I agree, but you forgot "Heavenly". That's one hell of a song. I love when Mariah does gospel. Katy Perry , ugh. We shouldn't even bother discussing her. She's irreverent, and compared with Mariah is a joke. She has zero talent. She's just jealous of Mariah. A buddy of mine on YouTube put her on his "Worst female singers" vids. So if any of you all haven't seen any of them, please do. You'll laugh.

Songs that stand out (45,702) by Abraham from USA
The songs that stand out to me from the album are "Cry", "Dedicated", Make it look good", "You don't know what to do" and Meteroite". I also love "The art of letting go". I would have liked for it to be on the standard edition. And replaced "Supernatural" I just don't feel that song. I know dem babies sound so adorable, and that the song is special to Mariah. But I can't listen to it. I love "The art of letting go" so much better. That song speaks to me. Because "letting go ain't easy". "Cry" is a beautiful ballad. It gives me "Through the rain". "Dedicated" is my favorite song from the album. It's such a throwback to the 90's. And I love it. The "Oh baby you know" verses are my favorite. "Make it look good" is such an awesome song. It has that old 1960's motown sound to it. Which I love. "You don't know what to do" is a great up tempo song. Another "Say something". I think it could be a hit. "Meteroite" is a nice 1970's disco, dance type song. Love it. It reminds me of "Sprung". So I love this album.

Hey, glad you agree with the "Can't let go" comparisons with "Do you think of me". And yes, I also get "I don't wanna cry" vibe to it as well. The song is very deep and sexy indeed. It should have been released. I think you can purchase the song on amazon. On "Slipping away", I do agree that it's a more stronger song. But I just love Mariah's cover of "Open arms". I have so many that I would love Mariah to record. Not really a fan of "MOAIA". But I do like "It's a wrap". I think it's a good song. I'm with you on "MIAMTEC". I really like it. Better than "TEOM". Let's hope that Mariah does release more new music.

TJ / GG (45,673) by Abraham from USA
I don't believe that. Mariah would have done fine without Tommy. It's her talent and voice that has gotten her to where she is today. She's the one who has written practically all her songs. Gigi, where did you read that rumor? Her twitter? Re releasing the album with new songs would be great. I want more music.

Yes, I am. I love "Do you think of me" and "Slipping away". I agree that it is a shame that they both were a waste. I personally think that either one could have been a chart topper. And possibly a number one hit. Both songs are great. "Do you think of me" is very deep. To me it's like another "Can't let go". I think the video should have been black and white too. "Slipping away" is a great r&b track. And I agree that it would have fit perfectly on the "Daydream" album. However, I like "Open arms". I think it should have been put after "I am free". And the video should have been in New York with Mariah sitting on some steps in front of a house. Then walking, either at a park or on a bridge. The song was perfect for 1995. So yes, it is a shame. I was thinking that Mariah should re release the "Daydream" album with "Slipping away" being added on.

Thanks for the response, I appreciate it. I too would love some more music. I think Mariah might have something in the works. As I stated in one of my posts, I would love to hear the songs that didn't make the album. I forgot "Heart", "This cannot be love" and "I'll still be around". Even if a re release happens, I'll still be interested if it's new music. I think Mariah most likely did save some of those tracks for the next album. Because why weren't any of them put on the deluxe edition?

Where did you see that pic? I can't say what's to come. If Mariah has another new album on the way, then she already signed with a new record company.

More music (45,619) by Abraham from USA
This album has left me wanting more music. I don't want to sound greedy or ungrateful. Because I love this album. But I just want more. I think Mariah did a great job sequencing the songs. But I'd still want to hear the ones that didn't make the album. "Hope street", "I'll still be around" and "Save the day". I wonder if those songs were tossed, or saved for the next album? "Save the day" sounds interesting. "Music box" material maybe? Sounds like a ballad. For now "Heavenly" is giving me everything I wanted. Such an amazing track.

Katy Perry (45,532) by Abraham from USA
I think it's funny if Katy is planning something against Mariah. I'm sure even Mariah would think so too. You think she would feel threatened by someone like Katy Perry. I think not. Mariah has absolutely nothing to worry about. I've never liked or cared for Katy, or her music. This is a women who can't sing, once said that to her "JLo is Selena". Really? And called her own grandmother a b****. What Katy needs to do is worry about what little music career she has. And continue doing her.

I skipped your message, and was surprised at your post. But what surprised me even more was the people who gave you a thumbs up. How dare you criticize Mariah's song writing skills? And to say the album isn't good, lol. It's one of her best. What do you want her from her? I'm sure if you were a music artist in your 40's, you'd go down hill too. I'll tell you that I wasn't happy with "MOAIA". But I am with "MIAMTEC". You listen to both albums and you'll hear a big difference. But I must say that you also made me laugh. "Overly produced vocals"? Mariah can overly produce as many vocals as she wants. Stop analyzing and criticizing every damn thing about the album. You're so ungrateful.

My thoughts (45,506) by Abraham from USA
I can't believe that someone believes that "Glitter" is more of a smash than "MIAMTEC", lol. I mean I know we are all entitled to our opinions. But come on, "MIAMTEC" is great. I haven't enjoyed an album from Mariah since "TEOM". And even on that album I skip some songs. But on this new album, I only skip one. I think the reason I love and appreciate this one more, is because of the ballads Mariah recorded. "Cry", "Camouflage" and "The art of letting go". All three in my opinion are beautiful songs. This is what I like from her. She did her best to give us classic Mariah. I hope her next album is just as good. One other thing. People on how they miss "the old Mariah". What you see is what you get. You either take and except her how she is, or don't. We should just be grateful that she is alive, healthy and still has the passion for music.

MIAMTEC (45,444) by Abraham from USA
It kind of excites me to know that Mariah might be working on another album, or new tracks. This is why I respect and love her. She's a mother and still wants to record music. For however long it takes her to finish the next album. I'll be satisfied with "MIAMTEC". It's such a great album. I was hoping that there would be plans with "YDKWTD". It being such a good song and all. I really wanted a video. Caisy, I think the song could be a chart topper.
