This was describing the creation of Dreamlover specifically, it went on to say that Walter added in 3 instruments to this song which is why he's also listed under producer, even though the majority was already done by MC and Hall. Actions speak louder than words (36,325) by nikki from usa For someone who's "out of touch" musically, it's amazing she already had those remixes with full vocals ready to go before the original was ever heard. When looking for a hit, you don't allow your song for download before it hits radio. Even then, she only sent it to urban radio, pop/mainstream was never given a copy. Why? Because it's not pop. Then, she allowed the remixes to be downloaded before she had a video out. The fact is the hip-hop community's reviews praised this song. This was important to her because she has a message to convey, you don't stop the message because everyone doesn't like it. Her new album doesn't come out until next year, so no "managers" are going to tell her anything about it, they have 6 months to kill. You'll notice the only one promoting this single is Mariah. Her words, her performance, her video. Her label isn't going to be upset with getting hundreds of thousands of dollars from downloads for doing nothing. She's hit #1 in several countries and was #2 on BET's top 10 music videos yesterday. (Thursday 13 September 2012; 17:53)

But, since he's had trouble in the past with people being "too nice", I agree MC might fall into that category. I think Mariah can be entertaining and give constructive criticism, but I don't think she'd be very good at being b*tchy like Simon. (Thursday 13 September 2012; 17:08)

Counting chickens before they're hatched (36,085) by nikki from usa Mariah's single is only available to hip hop stations, it's pretty premature to call it a flop considering it was just released this past week. Out of 1200 available stations, 77 of them decided to play it early which is why she made it to #97. She shouldn't have made anything at all since her impact day didn't start until the 14th. That's actually a good thing. She's currently at #53 on the chart. You'd think a journalist would have a clue as to what they're writing about, but then again journalism's gone downhill since the 90's. Urban is the only ones who have her single, she hasn't even sent anything to pop stations yet which will probably be an edited version of 1 of the dance remixes. The video is just released and with her album not coming out until next year, she can drag this out as long as she wants. I'd think if she were looking for a hit, she'd wouldn't allow the song to be downloaded already. She made this while her husband was sick and just lost Whitney. Clearly this song has far deeper value to her than just a stab at more numbers. This woman created hits for 20 years. If she wants another #1, she knows how to get it. Sometimes a message to be heard by the masses is more important than a hollow hit. I look forward to your live performance on the 5th, Mariah. Get 'em. (Thursday 23 August 2012; 1:24)
