About Luke from United Kingdom:

G.G. (49,750) by Luke from United Kingdom
Of course her actions are offensive to some degree but those actions are also mistakes. Something even she is entitled to no matter how much you think she owes you. This doesn't mean she shouldn't learn from those mistakes though. Which we all hope she is. We've all supported her by purchasing her music/tickets and she has shown that she can be on top form like at the Beacon. She is obviously coping with what's happening in her life by working but that's showing in her performances. Unfortunately there isn't a lot we can do about what ever is going on with her and behind the scenes. We can hope she reads this messageboard as there are many people here who give out sound and respectable advice. However, saying she should retire is rude and disrespectful criticism. An artist can't evolve if they do nothing. Thankfully she isn't doing nothing, so let us hope she can sort herself out because ultimately she is the only one who can.

Retirement (49,742) by Luke from United Kingdom
I find it almost offensive when people keep saying she should retire. I agree she should probably take a break now and focus on Vegas but not retire. As an artist, I'd be pretty annoyed if I was having a bad time and people started saying "Just stop doing what you love and retire." Just because you don't like watching her make mistakes like every other human on the planet, does not mean she should stop doing what she states is her saving grace. Apart from her children, her music might be the only thing from taking her down the path that none of us want to see. Ragardless of the mishaps that have been happening on stage.

Lightening pon de mood (49,631) by Luke from United Kingdom

So I don't mean to divert from the lip-sync subject much but I just stumbled across this little gem. She should totally do something like this again, like another unplugged. No gimmicks. Just her voice and a small audience.

Outfits and hair (49,551) by Luke from United Kingdom
I don't think Mariah has been too worried about her hair at these performances and on the Elusive tour because of the humidity. There's not much she can do with it when the humid weather is just going to mess it up lol. Also Mariah has said in the past that she loves an opportunity to dress up. I think that's the case with these gowns. I'd imagine it's just a phase. Last year I think it was all meant to work in synergy with the theme of the album (beachy-mermaidesque). She should show off her legs more though because they make her look younger somehow lol.

Edit (49,512) by Luke from United Kingdom
I just wanted to add that I was just talking about Fantasy. She seemed to take on all the other songs well and delivered them amazingly. She also looks fabulous. I do hope nobody was messing with her mic again though.

So I'm not really sure what's going on here. She's lip-synced in the past but here it's like she's not even trying during Fantasy, like she knows something isn't going right. I'm wondering if someone turned down her mic on purpose like when someone extracted her mic feed in Rockfeller. Who knows, maybe the lip-sync plan just failed. She was singing amazing at Beacon Theater though. I don't understand why she struggles on her non Christmas songs. I hope she sorts it out though because poeple wont be happy if she brings this to Vegas.

Nanny McClaims (49,454) by Luke from United Kingdom
I'm calling BS on these claims. Why is she saying all this now so long after she lost the job? Same with the assistant. Nobody held a gun to their head lol these people are just money hungry cretins that want more from her, which is probably why they took the job in the first place.

I'm not overly keen on Vision Of Love either. However, I think at the time it was released there was nothing else like it which is why it was such a big hit. I prefer Vanishing much more. Her BET performance of VOL in 2005 was amazing though and is probably the version I listen to the most.

New album (49,258) by Luke from United Kingdom
It would be pretty cool if Mariah filmed each #1 song she performs at Ceasars Palace and then included them onto the Album. Plus a few new songs with videos. Kind of like how Beyonce made videos for each song on her recent album and named it a visual album. I'd imagine the editing for this could take a while though.

Nick's "rap" / G.G (49,135) by Luke from United Kingdom
I just saw it. It's so disrespectful. I'm sure Mariah was singing about him in MIAM but she never directly referenced him to make it obvious. No wonder she always has the kids. He's like a 5 year old in a man's body. It seems he likes obtaining celebrity women like trophies to brag about. She can't seem to catch a break. I hope she proves everyone wrong this year. Including that player.

Vegas (49,018) by Luke from United Kingdom
I think this will be good for her. She isn't Celine, Britney, or JLo that saw Vegas as a good option for income. I don't think Mariah would do it for the money though. The thing is with Mariah is she knows how to connect with people through writing her own music which then shows when she sings her own lyrics. Celine, JLo and Britney have never had that connection even though they're great at what they do. I think the Vegas shows would be a great opportunity to remind people why she is Mariah Carey, much like her gigs she done for her debut. The only thing I'm worried about is it being a permanent or temporary. If it's permanent then I can see people getting bored and that's when she might start becoming a hasbeen. But I don't think Mariah would want to stay in one place doing the same thing anyway. It looks to me that she is building up hype in parts of the world that may have forgotten about her. Australia, Asia and now huge cities like New York and Vegas. She also appears to have a lot of confidence back in her voice. I'm sure she knows what she is doing and I'm pretty sure she wont leave the limelight without a bang.

Concert event (48,859) by Luke from United Kingdom
So on Mariah's Spotify page there is a calender link saying there is a concert event for the May 18th and the UK at the Echho Arena. When I clicked on this it goes to a page called Songkick but says the page no longer exists or has been deleted. Could this mean more tours?

Beacon concerts (48,536) by Luke from United Kingdom

I love this, I was holding back tears because I was in a public place haha. Does anyone get a 1996 MSG vibe from this? I know she didn't sing Christmas songs there but her dress, vocals and how comfortable she is on stage just reminds me of that. This makes me so happy. I wish I live in New York so I could see her.

Edward (48,178) by Luke from United Kingdom
He could easily manipulate her by bringing up the children. I wouldn't care about people that I didn't know in the rain if it had anything to do with my family. She's apologised now which is what matters. Would you make strangers your priority? Or your family and yourself? Also I agree she could have let the network know, or told someone to tell them. But who knows? Hopefully she sorts it out lol because people will get fed up.

Mariah late for Rockfeller (48,161) by Luke from United Kingdom
I'm not bashing Nick here because I don't know the guy but does anyone else get the feeling he may have caused Mariah to be late to Rockfeller? The timing seems to much of a coincidence. Whenever I read things about him it's almost like he's trying to big himself up and make himself seem like God's gift to the earth. Who knows? Mariah is known for being late in the past but I wonder if it's because she doesn't like being controlled by these TV executives like when she was younger.

Comeback no. 2 plus hello (47,967) by Luke from United Kingdom
Hey I'm new and only recently found this website and I love it. I've loved Mariah all my life but have only really have started following her in the last 2 years. This maybe wishful thinking but looking at this tour and MIAMTEC, does anyone get the idea that Mariah kinda wants to move on from this album because the majority of it is probably related to Nick? I also feel that this looks a lot like what she was doing with the Charmbracelet tour and album. Critics and a lot of fans were pretty sure she'd had her time back then and assumed there was nothing left for her but she went on tour, built up publicity, sang live (and well for most of it) and then a year and a half later came back with a vengeance in 2005. Does anyone else think she's got something up her sleeve planned for next year (possibly late 2015)?
