About Jay from USA: lamb since 1992. It all started with Mtv Unplugged. It was the first cassette I bought. I already liked the songs I heard on the radio but wanted to make sure I liked them all before I bought the other albums. Then I bought Mariah Carey and Emotions. I wore out those tapes. Then came Dreamlover. To this day its my favorite video. Then came the Dreamlover remixes by David Morales. I was in awe. I've tried to buy all the singles I could get my hands on. What I love about her, other than her voice, is how creative she is; how she'll resing/rewrite a song when making a remix and the writing abilities. I don't always agree with all she does and I may be a bit critical but I love that this site will let you express that. There are other sites that won't post your opinions unless they are "pro everything she does".

A few thoughts (41,351) by Jay from USA
I totally agree with Alex from England. I don't know how people don't realize this. Even though she says she doesn't have "yes people" around her, she may not realize it. And I don't think IDJ supports her the way she would like them to. And I love the remixes. My favorite is the Kurd Maverick remix. I wish she and David Morales would work together again.

George / interview (40,190) by Jay from USA
Rihanna has 13 #1 songs on the Pop chart. She already surpassed Mariah. Mariah has 18 #1 on the Top 100 Songs. It's a different chart. No travesty yet. And as far as the interview, I see no difference in how Mariah acts in any of her other interviews. And I just chalk it up to her insecurities (which she often refers to in her songs). Which I think is also why she always has to do various takes when she sings live (pre-taped). She's human like the rest of us, except richer and with a hell of alot more talent.

TAOLG (39,811) by Jay from USA
I love this song and I'm very excited for this era. I know that term is overused but I'm going with it. The past "two singles", Triumphant and #Beautiful, were songs. They were okay and didn't really excite me as a "new single" from Mariah usually does. To be honest, it's been awhile. I'm always supportive of Mariah but TAOLG gave me a "90's vibe". I mean, I don't remember the last time that I felt so excited for the premiere. It felt like that morning that I set the alarm for the premiere of Honey on MTV. Or the first time I saw the Dreamlover video on VH1. And later when I found the Dreamlover single that featured the David Morales remixes. And of course the night I made everyone watch the Thanksgiving special after dinner while everyone in my family rolled their eyes. I love the song, the lyrics, and trying to decipher who or what she wrote it about. I even stayed up, in my old age, to watcher her on Fallon when usually, I just wait to see it online. I'm liking it all so far, but I really hope we don't have to wait until February 2014 to hear the rest of the album. I do hope we get remixes from David Morales the way he remixed CTTA.

Evergreen/signature song (39,383) by Jay from USA
I am in agreement that AIWFCIY will forever be her "signature song" since it's the one that will be listened to the most years to come (as it's already been said on this message board). It's really the only song that people have covered over the years and because of it will bring her recognition. Hero, Always Be My Baby, Fantasy, WBT, OSD, are all songs that will be remembered but not necessarily "the song" the way people associate a song with a singer. I think the problem with MC is that she has so many types of songs, so many "eras". There's so many people that think her career started with TEOM. I was listening to a morning show the other day and a caller named Mariah was asked if she was named after the singer. The said no, that she came before the "other Mariah". They asked her what year she was born and it was in the late 90's. the radio hosts laughed and schooled her, telling her Mariah has been around for over 20 years. I think it's only the lambs that understand that the Mariah from the 90's is the same Mariah that infuses hip hop in her music now.

Erica (39,154) by Jay from USA
Are you refering to Around The World With Mariah that aired on VH1 for the Charmbracelet release? I've seen it on YouTube in six parts. And there are "other" Mariah fan sites that have it for download (i'm not sure if I can mention them here, lol).

That one song (39,137) by Jay from USA
For me that I have to skip is 4real4real. I love the few bars at the beginning, but I can't handle anymore after that. Every time it comes up on my iPod, I have to change it after a few seconds. Everything else I'm good with.

Are you speaking of the New Jackswing version of Someday?

New era (38,867) by Jay from USA
I feel like all this waiting for the new album is not necessarily Mariah's fault. I feel like it may be the record company's fault. Maybe "fault" is a strong word to use, but it seems like they are focusing on other "artists". It just seems really strange that she's been working on this album for so long. I hope things get worked out in the end (and I also hope that it's not an album full of Triumphants and #Beautifuls). I hope there is a mixture and I'm not just talking about "old school Mariah" and more like TEOM. I'm hoping for the best.

Performance / enwar00 (38,668) by Jay from USA
I just saw the videos online from last night's performance. They were great. I wish I could've been there. She sounded and looked amazing. And enwar00, I also love the Sammy Samson remix. I like it better than the other dance remix.

#Beautiful remixes (38,462) by Jay from USA
I kinda liked the first one with A$AP (or whatever). and I really like the Spanglish version #Hermosa. But this last remix, the Louie Vega Dance remix, is by far my least favorite remix... of all time. I live for her dance remixes. I really hope she's saving the best for last. I still hope that one day David Morales and she work together again. I also hope she and David Verde work together again. I liked the Triumphant remixes he did.

Walk of fame (38,045) by Jay from USA
Anyone know whatever happened to Mariah reeiving her star on the Hollywood walk of fame? It was announced, but I don't recall her ever getting it and her name is not listed on the website. Her site still has the announcement dated June 23, 2006.

#Beautiful (37,868) by Jay from USA
I don't understand why people make a big deal of Clear Chanel stations playing Mariah's song every hour on the hour. It's how people get heard nowadays. Yes, to the fans Mariah will always be classic and better than anyone out there. But with just our help she can't make another number one or put a dent in the charts. If that was the case, Mariah would've had more than 18 number ones. No matter how wonderful and talented we know she is, the general public needs a reminder. Which is probably why she doing a medley of songs on AI. "Let me take a minute here and remind you basics why I am who I am."

Am I the only one? (37,643) by Jay from USA
Am I the only one who thinks all this was just a business move? A very calculated move? The lack of promotion for E=MC2, releasing the wrong singles, the cancellation of Angel Advocate, losing the main soundtrack song to Precious, American Idol. It did just enough for the fans but not really anything for the main general public. It seems the IDJ/Universal was focused on Rihanna and Justin. Despite the fact that not everyone likes them both, they are successful. And it seems that Mariah took a backseat to them as far as promotion is concerned. But was it on propose? This 26 second teaser clip has so far been the best campaign/promo Mariah has received in a long time. Everything else was for the fans. Who else is going to log on/tune in to HSN to buy Mariah’s wares? Christmas album? For the fans. Triumphant? It was just to get people to talk about her in the media (as a prequel to American Idol perhaps?). All this, just so when she was ready to go mainstream, her name was still in the media. I am really excited for this new era. I can’t wait to see what happens. Just my two cents I suppose.

Ref AI (37,535) by Jay from USA
I don't think anyone is asking Mariah to rip any of the contestants. However, being that she is the only "vocalist" (no offense to Keith fans) on the panel, it's kind of dispointing that she doesn't delve further into that aspect of thier performance. I think right now as it stands, Keith is the only judge that is giving the best critisims and such. Mariah and Randy have their moments. And then there is another person who has no place on the panel, but I'll bite my tounge (lets spread positivity ). On another note, I can't wait to hear what MC is cooking up "pon the studio".

Almost home etc (37,274) by Jay from USA
I am loving Almost Home. It is great. I haven't been able to stop listening to it since it came out. Also loving the clips we've seen from the video, I can't wait for it to come out. On another note, I've been watching AI since this season started. It’s the only time I've actually seen it from the beginning and it’s only because of MC. I'm actually watching the east coast broadcast right now. I think she is doing better than she was when the season first started. Although, sometimes I still cringe when she repeats things that Randy is saying. The shows in Vegas have been better for her (I know it’s only been two shows so far). And am I the only one cringing every time Nicki opens her mouth or makes faces? I don't mean to bring the negativity, but I really don't like her and it’s not because of the whole Mariah/Nicki feud (which was overplayed in my opinion). IDK, just my opinion.

Alomst home (37,171) by Jay from USA
I am really excited for this song. I can't wait to hear it. I wonder if the Letterman interview was meant for Americna Idol promo, but then they decided to push it back until this song comes out. Also, I remember reading that Mariah was doing a photo shoot (when she was wearing that black top/black long skirt/leather jacket) last week with David Lachapelle and the news release has mentioned that he's wokring with her on the video/photos for Almost Home. I am really excited for this era, almost to the point that I'm giddy.

Mariah's left side (37,100) by Jay from USA
I remeber there was a photograph of her wedding (to Tommy) that she was caught on the left side as she walked down the aisle. I wouldn't say she looked ugly, she did look a little different. The thing I noticed was that her teeth on that side weren't straight, for lack of a better word. I've seen other photos where her teeth on the left side show a difference. Maybe that's what "someone" told her was her flaw and that's why she tries to hide it. I'm not sure if she has tried to hide it lately, because she has had that hairstyle (where her hair is up) before. I wonder if she was just trying to compensate for where she was standing as opposed to "hidding her left side" (in reference to that Idol video). And after writing all this, I have come to the conclusion that the media has nothing left to report about Mariah other than negative aspects, because now they are rehashing old reports. Either way, I guess it keeps her in the media spotlight. Although I wish they would write about the positive aspects of her career and life. I can't wait to see her on AI tonight.

Thanks a bunch Stacey. I did receive them but have not been able to download them yet (my job makes me work on Sundays, bleek ). Anyways, thanks again and Happy Holidays.

jjaymia1978@yahoo.com. Thanks so much Stacey. The Celebration mix is my favorite too. I need it so I can play it while decorating my tree this year. I know, I just lost like a million man points, but so be it.

Does anyone know where I can get the David Morales remix to "Joy to the world"? I have the lp record, but I can't transfer them to mp3. Thanks.

Mariah/Rihanna (36,728) by Jay from USA
I do believe people are getting the wrong idea of comparing Mariah to Rihanna. I think it's more of comparison of the video quality. I don't think they mean to have Mariah copy Rihanna's style. We are just asking for better quality videos. And I personally don't like Nick's style of directing, but that's just my opinion.

Re: Rihanna (36,459) by Jay from USA
I do believe that the article is a bit misleading. I read elsewhere that Rihanna is top "pop charts" artist. Billboard has many charts and one of them is top pop songs, which is why Whitney and Michael didn't place and why Mariah only place at #5. (They usually charted better in r&b or top 100.) And also, eventhough Mariah has had many hits, she doesn't always chart on all the charts. I guess everyone needs to be #1 in something.

NFL Kick Off (36,250) by Jay from USA
I would love to hear Vanashing, Vision of Love. I'm tired of the same songs she sings in her concerts lately, or maybe it just seems that way to me. Let's mix it up MC. I know some people aren't here for Triumphant, but she has to sing that song. I mean, c'mon, its supposed to be the buzz single for her next album and she's about to do AI. But she has to sing the Throwback Vintage Mix or I would't be mad if she did Pulse Mix since some lambs seem to like that version better. Actually, I wouldn't be mad if she brought Meek Mill and Rick Ross, that'll probably be a better combination for the football fans. But she needs to leave Hero at home. Yes, we know some lives have been saved with this song, but even MC looks like she gets bored with it. Oh, maybe she can sing Make It Happen (Jenny Craig remix, I know it's not called that, but I can't remember the name of that remix) for a positive vibe moment if need be.
