About Lyric from USA: Mariah fan since 2005.

Come on Mariah (39,198) by Lyric from USA
After dealing with the disappointment of Mariah's incompetent team releasing a false album release date, we fans deserve some type of news. At least she could talk about the creative spot she's in with production and writing, so we know that new music is coming. Since Mariah loves the notion of being younger than she actually is, then she should come up with a daring way to keep up with her younger contemporaries. The industry is no longer interested in R&B. I don't want her to sell out really, but we just need something new. #Beautiful was a nice change. Mariah just needs to give us some news before the general public gets bored with any anticipation they may have had.

BET Awards (38,493) by Lyric from USA
Well, it looks like Mariah has lipped yet another performance. I realize the BET Awards may not be a huge deal to most of America, but it's still national television. She needs to put more effort and energy into her performances if she wants to be a touring act. She stood in one spot the entire time and the whole thing was lipped. #Beautiful is not that difficult vocally. I love Mariah but at this point, I don't think I would ever pay to see her "live".

Over analyzing much? People who are fans of this woman want her to succeed commercially. That's part of being a fan. Maybe you just value the music only, but don't make others feel bad if they want Mariah to achieve success outside of that. If an artist isn't doing what they're capable of, their fans have a right to criticize. At the end of the day, we're the only ones who care about the state of Mariah's career enough to discuss it. The people complaining about complainers are just as annoying. For your information. Let people say what that want, no one means any harm.

Hi, I wish that you wouldn't be so quick to criticize those who have a negative opinion. It's only temporary, everyone will be positive once we get some definite news on the album. Mariah fans are very quick to try to stifle each other's opinions, because they are blunt. People have a right to express how they feel about their favorite artist, no one here is getting a check from Mariah. Let people feel the way they want, you don't have to refer to a disappointed fan as a "Debbie Downer". Just my two cents. You don't like what people say, skip over it.

Boob job (38,189) by Lyric from USA
Yeah, I don't see why this is still discussed when it's obvious she has implants, and it's been obvious since 1999. She was practically flat-chested when she debuted. Fans shouldn't be in denial, it's not like plastic surgery makes Mariah a bad person or tarnishes her image. She's not the first and she won't be the last.

Mariah's style (38,142) by Lyric from USA
The reactions to Mariah's latest twitter photo were ridiculous. People are dead set on criticizing Mariah's style when she has been dressing skimpy on and off since the late 90s. Fans and the general public should be used to it. She is a mother and a wife and I understand that people expect her to adapt to a classier style, but it's not gonna happen. Mariah believes that the only way to be sexy is to show skin, and so be it. She looks great regardless. But I think she could use some tips from Halle Berry, a woman who dresses her age and still maintains her sex appeal. It can be done. Mariah's style hasn't evolved too much, I kinda wish she was a fashion icon like other pop stars.

I agree with you. I think Mariah feels that being overtly sexy helps her hold onto her youth. Her videos have become quite redundant, it's clear to me that she lacks a real creative team. Unfortunately, if an artist of today wants to sell massive amounts of records, they have to be visual. That's why someone like Nicki Minaj has so many teenybopper fans. I don't want Mariah to ever change who she is, but she needs to become more creative visually before people get bored.

A question (38,051) by Lyric from USA
Guys, I want some opinions on this if you don't mind. Do you guys think Mariah should address the lip syncing, or at least the current state of her voice? I would love it if someone like Barbara Walters addressed Mariah's lipped performances, because I would like to hear what she's doing to preserve her voice. A true vocalist has never been open or admitted to lip syncing because it could be detrimental to their reputation. But there are many lambs who want some type of explanation. If she said something, then maybe people wouldn't have such high expectations for her "live" performances.

The whole debate (38,005) by Lyric from USA
What bothers me is the fact that Mariah's voice has deteriorated to the point where she has no faith in her live singing capabilities. I may be ignorant on the issue, but why does her performance need to be "dubbed" if she is in top vocal shape? This will be an unpopular opinion, but I think Mariah needs a vocal coach. She is becoming a studio vocalist and she has lost her stage presence as well. She seems so uncomfortable on stage. I should be used to Mariah's new singing style, but she never uses her vibrato or melisma any longer, so I'm forced to believe she's just not capable. I want the best for Mariah and I find myself being so critical because she is one of my favorite vocalists. I'm not asking for 90s vocal gymnastics, but I hope the new album has more than whisper vocals and strained belting. Beautiful is a refreshing song and I want to see it do really well.

Nicki Minaj (36,347) by Lyric from USA
What are everyone's feelings on Nicki joining AI? Obviously, she's hardly qualified to judge a singing competition and Fox is desperate for ratings. It'll be interesting to see if she and Mariah will have good chemistry on the judging panel. I won't be watching AI, but I'd feel more inclined to watch if it were just Mariah, Keith and Randy.

Mariah adores Roc (36,208) by Lyric from USA
I've noticed that Mariah posts more pictures of her and Roc. You know how mothers feel about their sons! I bet Monroe will be a daddy's girl. The kids are cute and growing up so fast.

Get over it already (36,134) by Lyric from USA
The criticism of people on this site needs to stop. A fan doesn't need to like or support every career choice Mariah makes. There is a difference between a "stan" and a "fan". Stans tend to accuse fans of not being true when they are just brave enough to speak out about Mariah's mistakes. Just because some people are comfortable kissing ass, doesn't mean everyone has to be. Get over yourselves. I don't like Triumphant, I don't like the video, I don't like Memoirs. And I am still a FAN.

What can save this era? (36,066) by Lyric from USA
Let's see. We have a flop single, no hype, and a video with some left over styling from the TEOM era. Mariah is probably one of the least creative singers I've ever seen. Everything she does is recycled. Triumphant is stale and so was this awkward video. I'm a fan of Mariah's voice, and that'll always remain. However, I'm not a fan of her career choices or her artistic decisions. If she was comfortable with her place as a legend in the business, then she wouldn't be signing up for a karaoke show as a marketing tool. She has too many "yes" people around her I think. Only a new INVENTIVE single and heavy promo can save this era.
