Really B?

For the few who think Mimi is all right, all better all cool, just wait. Even in spite of all the gravitas she's feeling from the icon award, she herself will soon say, "Hold my splash." I see the endgame playing out already. She's never content with an easy landing.

Out of Love song (89,480) by RibbonB from USA
I'm so obsessed with this Alessia Cara song. So beautuful, subtle, sweet and timeless. Co written with Alessia and producer-songwriter Rick Nowels. I mentioned him in this board a year or two ago as someone Mimi could benefit from working with, so I wasn't surprised when I saw his caliber of a name associated with the song. Classy, timeless material would do Mimi good and a big voice isn't required for a great song. I'm not sure how well this song charted but it's played multiple times daily on AC radio in Los Angeles.

Re: BMA vocal analysis (89,453) (89,457) by RibbonB from USA
She sings like that on tour. The nerves thing has been played out, although it course they would show at a big moment like that. She's been in the game long enough to slay those big moments. The best ones do. I hope she takes a break after the European leg of Caution and the Vegas residency that she's doing "One mo gen". At some point she needs to address the voice or at least rest it for a couple of years. Constantly pushing through to keep paying her entourage is self defeating.

I agree it's a fair reaction.

WBT (89,432) by RibbonB from USA
How nice, We Belong Together has re entered the hot 200 on US iTunes. The power of Mimi's speech. And very cute that CardiB was caught on camera singing it to Offset. And many have noted that Taylor poached off of Bey, but they both stole from the queen M with her iconic Up Out My Face marching band.

BB Awards (89,417) by RibbonB from USA
Mimi gave a great speech. She struggled singing, but she did ok. Roc and Roe were very cute showing love to their mommy. The show overall was a bore. Taylor really tried it.

Re: What song is being performed at Awards Show? (89,399) (89,406) by RibbonB from USA
Maybe Jennifer will just present Shezz, but it gets boring if no one else sings in tribute. We will just have to see how it plays out.

Re: Happy birthday to dem kids (89,404) (89,405) by RibbonB from USA
That was Mariah celebrating the twins with her staff on their day. Mariah and Nick threw them a party with friends and family a few days ago. Both M and Nick posted pictures of that party. It looks like Nick is filming something in Africa today, so he was not in town.

They are growing so fast. Yikes I have an unruly autocorrect.

Happy birthday to dem kids (89,395) by RibbonB from USA
They are belonging (?) so fast. I hope they had a great day. I love that Roc wants to be a comedian and likes to DJ.

Re: What song is being performed at Awards Show? (89,393) (89,394) by RibbonB from USA
So J Hud is performing in the MC tribute. I wonder what she will sing. I hope it sounds good and not just loud. Will it be WBT? Her voice is not well suited for any Mimi song, but maybe she could pull off Hero. If she tries hard and concentrates, J Hud may be able to slay Fly Like a Bird. I'm hoping for a good tribute and flawless performance from Mimi.

She will be serving warm, flat "shampagknee" from an old discarded flute for fifty five. Fifty five.

Lol I thought that was you. Mimi gonna read y'all for filth like Missie did on the outro.

Re: Whitney Houston (89,281) (89,286) by RibbonB from USA
Mimi can't battle. They were both great in their prime. There are too many other greats, but Aretha is the greatest. We need a best dancer video of Mimi and Whitney from the 90's. Whitney liming like a pogo stick and M doing the running man.

Re: Mariah's memoir (89,278) (89,280) by RibbonB from USA
I expect she will be vague and self centered, showing little self-reflection, if any. Just being honest.

Always be my baby/maybe (89,279) by RibbonB from USA
Yes, this is so exciting. A Netflix movie centered around a Mariah song. Perfect and I love the way she sings it for the promo.

Re: Whitney Houston (89,271) (89,272) by RibbonB from USA
Speaking of Whitney, her old gal pal Robyn Crawford is finally putting out a book. According to Wendy, it's out in November. No word on if it will be tabloid tea, or hero worship or what.

Motown 60 (89,261) by RibbonB from USA
This airs tonight. I think I will skip. It's amazing all the revisionist crock. No Jacksons, no Supremes, lots of BS. It appears that the producers had to give both JLo and Diana Ross prominent Grammy spots in order for them to agree to appear on this Motown show. JLo was bad for the Grammys and I is criminal for this special. Miss Ross would only appear if there were no Supremes and no Supremes songs. Diana gets on my nerves and the inclusion of JLo is absurd. R and B is continually being choked out and screwed even by some of its creators. But it's not dead.

Re: Beyonce (89,236) (89,240) by RibbonB from USA
Lol some people like it, but I don't. She also dropped a little of Cameo's Candy into the same remix. Creative but not for me.

Adele (89,237) by RibbonB from USA
Adele has separated. Here comes her best, the next, 19.2. Bless her heart and that of her ex and their son.

Re: Beyonce (89,232) (89,233) by RibbonB from USA
Of course her fans have said "she gave them what they didn't know they needed". Lol. I don't like her Before I Let Go remake though, but the original song is a classic. Good effort .
