Glaad award (61,631)

I see many fans on the messageboard feel MC is not deserving of her Glaad honor and I have to disagree. While MC may not be the most vocal about her alliances to different causes groups ect doesn't mean she does not lend her support or celebrity. Many entertainers are awarded nowadays for the sake awarded and no one makes a big deal out of it. To me it seems every time MC is awarded or doing something it's a big deal or issue. I say why not allow her to be rewarded obviously Glaad felt she was deemed honorable for this award. Much love everyone who supports MC on this messageboard.

Hero (61,499)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)

Mariah has always [...] Hero was not a favorite song of hers, and how she wrote [...] song in the key of Gloria Estefan's voice but it was Tommy and the higher ups at Sony that told her to keep the song for herself and it will become one of if not the most important song of her career. She has also stated how this song has helped her and many people through rough times. So for Mariah this song has a yin and a yang.

Mary (61,323)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)

Mary J Blige's image was built around being from the ghetto or hood. Puffy and Andre Harrell came up with this style of R&B song sung over hip hop beat thus the queen of hip hop soul was born. Mary herself once said when she first got signed the team at Uptown/MCA records had no idea what to do with her as an artist because at the time the building of grand pop diva was still very popular i.e. Whitney and Mariah. Mary also stated how Vision Of Love was a song that she and friends loved and tried to sing but knew they couldn't hit the notes Mariah hit in the song but they tried for fun anyway. So the respect between Mary and Mariah has been there even from afar.

Old team vs new team (61,276)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)

While I am sure Mariah misses her old because they have grown together and became a family, I have to admit this new team has done Mariah wonders. This latest tour has been critically acclaimed and looks to be expanding, Vegas has been extended and even more so Mariah's voice and confidence has been much better since Stella and company have come in place. The old team seems to have become too comfortable with being on MC's payroll and lacking. Though I feel Stella may have a very dominating personality her work ethic with Mariah so far has produced positive results. So Stella is welcomed on board in my opinion, all I am concerned is trying to make her family famous off of MC's back.

New album (61,231)

Everybody has ideas on what they think Mariah should do for her next album but in reality with all the suggestions somebody will be disappointed. For me if I get an album infused with pop, R&B, and a little A/C with killer vocals and great production I will be very satisfied.

MIAM (60,975)

I've been noticing a lot of suggestions on what producers Mimi should work with on her next opus. While some say ditch her main go to producers I would be careful there because her main producers JD and Big Jim did great work on her last album. If anyone was dead weight it was Dark Child. Cry was a very strong opener, YDKWTD was amazing and a hit that was left behind. Also MILG was a bop as well. If anything I would like to see Mimi write more by herself next go round like she used to. Also I would not want new collaborators and classic Mimi collaborators so this album can be a mix of old and new. Btw MIAM was a great body of work, it just did not get much attention from Mimi or DJ because of everything that was happening at the time in Mimi's personal life.

Nick has come forward to dispel any rumors of a Carey vs Cannon feud and claims the media has too much time on its hands, and furthermore if he had something to say about anyone he would say it. Also both have moved on and are super cool. In other words Mariah and Nick are civil with each other and if we the public are looking for any beef we have to find it elsewhere.

Nick vs Mariah (the diss songs edition) (60,757)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)

I have a chance to both diss records in the Nick vs Mariah saga and it's clear Mariah has beat Nick in my opinion on his latest masterpiece and I mean that term very loosely. The verses are weak and seems rushed. It comes off as someone still practicing and learning their craft. Honestly bless his heart, Nick needs to give up the rapping and stick to hosting. Now onto Mariah. While Infinity may not be a Carey standard for the history books but when I compare both songs she is clearly the better rapper without trying to rap and has the better diss record so in this case here Carey vs Cannon who has the better diss track the verdict is in and the edge here goes to Carey hands down.

Stella (60,742)

Good day/evening MCA family. I've been taking a little time to observe before I decided to comment. When it comes to Stella she has done wonders for Mariah as far as rebuilding her public perception and image. But if her main goal and objective is to make her and her family famous off of the back of Mariah I think she needs to be replaced as soon as possible. If a new manager needs to step in I need it to be someone who knows the business and has studied the Mariah brand and is willing to create meaningful opportunities as well as keep MC focused on creating meaningful and worthy projects that would make sense to her brand musically and otherwise. If a manager needs to replaced I think Mariah should hire Jeff Robinson of MBK entertainment, he was Alicia Keys first manager they worked together during her first three album where she garnered her most successful years. Troy Carter is another name that comes to mind, he was very instrumental with Lady Gaga early on Eve and other great artists. But honestly I just need for MC to create a team that can focus on rebuilding brand Mariah from top to bottom and someone who is not thirsty for the limelight themselves.

What a way to kick off a tour pulling out some oldies but goodies, her confidence was definitely off the charts. Also she proved with proper care and maintainance Mariah still has the goods of her gift her amazing instrument. Here is to a successful European tour and beyond. On another note, We Belong Together from opening night wow.

Luke / Ethan (60,439)

First things first Luke you could not have stated your opinion any better regarding Allison. Now onto you Ethan while you are entitled to your opinion I disagree with you. Allison is a grown woman who chose to chase drugs and other things while abandoning her children who her mom and younger sister took care of. While I do believe in forgiveness, how many times must one forgive and continue to be burned? On another note, if you like MC less and less, why come to an MC messageboard and post?

Allison and Morgan (60,432)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
| |
|
|
Come on everybody Mariah has been responsible for Allison and her shortcomings for a long time now was it not Mariah and mama who took care of Allison's children while she was chasing the streets and drugs. Was there not a gag order in place on Mariah in regards to Allison. Even after all that Mariah has tried to help her sister with treatment only to be burned so I think we should allow Mariah to make this decision regarding her siblings in peace without judgment. As for Morgan it seems more like an opportunity to capitalize off of his little sister's name because he pulled this same stunt when she was about to kick off her TECS tour how convenient now that Mariah is about to start another tour Morgan pops back up dirtying his famous sister's name.
