About Reuben Walton from United States: I've always loved Mariah's music but my love her for her stuff really kicked in in 2009 with the release of Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel when I realized I had largely been ignoring a major mainstream artist whose whole body of work was just waiting there for me to dive into it. I love when she gets ghetto, I love that she always sings in tune, and I love all her diva swag. I also love her ballads which have gotten me through some personal struggles.

100% (50,829) by Reuben Walton from United States
It could've been a big hit if it had been promoted way more.

Cover song wish (50,772) by Reuben Walton from United States
MC should cover the ABBA song "Thank You for the Music". Thoughts?

Andrew, why is it relevant that Walter is not black?

Does anyone have a link to the tweet where he posted the pic of them in the studio recently? I'm dying to see it.

Clors nonsense? (50,518) by Reuben Walton from United States
What is this "blue and black"/"white and gold" nonsense? Did she wear some ensemble recently with these colors? I'm so confused.

MC iTunes categorization (49,289) by Reuben Walton from United States
Why is the majority of MC's music on iTunes categorized under "Pop" when her style has almost always had major R&B elements. I guess maybe just because "Pop" means popular. Oddly enough, Mary J. Blige is always categorized as R&B/Soul, I don't know if Mariah's skin just isn't dark enough for them to consider what she does as R&B, but whatever. She is a beautiful butterfly of many shades, facets and colors.

Usher smoke in Mariah's face thing (48,881) by Reuben Walton from United States
When and where did this happen? Can someone tell me about this?

On and off / hot and cold (48,210) by Reuben Walton from United States
Twitter was lit up yesterday evening with thousands of cynics declaring "she's over/needs to retire/it's done/her ship has sailed" etc. The thing about only noticing the negative is so true. It's like they either don't notice the good performances, or they do but then they immediately flip the switch off and make the same declarations as soon as there is one bad performance.

LiveStream possibilities? (48,184) by Reuben Walton from United States
I like to protect things that I like and watch them alone rather than opening up something pure and beautiful to scrutiny by people who would never ever understand because they hate her. It would be okay to people if I was obsessed with some lame straight-guy bullshit like Led Zeppelin, but I'm not. So does anyone know of a LiveStream or place I can watch this online?

Whatever it's not about Nick then (47,951) by Reuben Walton from United States
Fine then it's not about Nick. I just think the rest of E=MC2 and MOAIA (other than Obsessed) could've been promoted/handled better. The whole thing with L.A. Reid not cooperating or whatever BS he was up to and the fact that MC fell so hard for Nick (of her own choice) as to virtually abandon promo for E=MC2. I know she gave so much of herself already in her career but whatever it's just my opinion, it could've done well to sustain her then one-album-deep comeback to at the very least just choose the right singles (whether it was her or others choosing them) like Migrate etc. where some of those songs would've kind of sold themselves if put before the public and pushed to radio with a halfway decent promo campaign. The Jump Smokers mix of Betcha Gon' Know could've also been a successful single.

Nick cost her 6 years, missed opportunities for singles, etc. (47,940) by Reuben Walton from United States
The rest of E=MC2 unquestionably could have built off of TMB's momentum, Migrate, Side Effects, etc. and she certainly could've scored at least one more #1's with either Ribbon, MTJF, or 100%. 100% could've been another Hero, so many missed opportunities. MOAIA could've been a huge album. It's what made me really really fall in love with MC because it was so. damn. smooth. This album was so big for me. During my freshman year at UMass Lowell (2009-2010) I used to lie all cozy in my bed in my dorm room, stoned, with my amazing headphones and just immerse myself in its luxury. Mimi was a goddess for me here, as I have an immense and equal appreciation for both her artistry, melodies, and for the exquisite production which others called too samey, but I was in love from that album and still am. I really had always loved her music growing up but only in the last half decade did I really truly grasp the depth of her talents.

Across 110th Street (47,883) by Reuben Walton from United States
What is it? I can't figure out if it's a song she wrote or an intro or what. The concert footage I've seen doesn't really make it clear. Anyone wanna help out a confused lamb?

"Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" (46,605) by Reuben Walton from United States
I was thinking the other day while improvising singing and driving listening to this that it would work really well if she covered it. Something in the same stylistic vein of "The First Noel / Born Is the King (Interlude)", there are lots of moments I was hearing musically in it that reminded me of TFN/BITK, opportunities for her to do her thing melodically with that same palpable tenderness. Maybe in a few years or something when it has been a while since she's done anything big for Christmas. I feel like since MCIIY was released, every December has had her really visible.

Confused (43,735) by Reuben Walton from United States
Did she perform two different Today Show concerts? Or is it just that TMB and YDKWTD were the only performances broadcasted?

"Thirsty" slang (43,556) by Reuben Walton from United States
It's actually been a fairly common term in the hip hop/rap/r&b lexicon for at least 13 years. I remember Eve mentioned it in her song "Satisfaction" from 2001.

Possible lyrics to Thirsty? (43,229) by Reuben Walton from United States
[censored] If these are real, I enjoy the subtle/vague shade throwing, and swagger. If not, does anybody know?

Kick Rocks (43,227) by Reuben Walton from United States
I wonder what happened to this song. She mentioned it in an interview with DJ Suss One. It's funny because "kick rocks" is a phrase my friend uses pretty often, she's not a fan of MC but that's why it was funny when I told her.
