About Alexis Morell Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan from USA: I put the 'nasty' in "Dynasty".

#2's in Vegas (50,712) by Alexis Morell Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan from USA
I think it would be a cute idea to acknowledge the songs that made it to #2 (doesn't she still hold the record for the most #2's?). Maybe a little medley of those songs? Or am I asking too much?

I wish her well (50,711) by Alexis Morell Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan from USA
You know, sometimes I come on this board and read so much being said about Mariah. There is the deserved harsh criticism, but there is this strong undercurrent of hope: all of these ideas for new producers, looks, Vegas show setups. It all just makes me sad. I know one of my biggest criticisms of Whitney was that she seemed to neglect her fan base. I mean those fans that were there when she had obviously forgotten about her career. I feel like that's Mariah now. Yes, she will throw a few crumbs to us lamb-peasants with a tweet or ig post. However, she just doesn't seem to really care, so in turn, I've stopped caring. At this point, I've just found that having no expectations is the best route. Until the fans can speak directly to her, I expect nothing to change.

It's so sad that its uncomfortably funny (49,600) by Alexis Morell Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan from USA
I had to laugh nervously and walk away from the screen after looking at Fantasy. These warning signs are so obvious. I'd kill someone for her, and even I am not interested in spending my hard earned money to fly to Vegas and see her, because as soon as I hear hear thin 2015 belts mix with a dramatic "I don't wanna cry" album version dub/re-record/whatever, I'm gonna boo and probably be put out. At the end of the day, she is an investment by fans. I pay for her and her children's lifestyles. If she doesn't want to hear my opinion, then she needs to write me a check reimbursing me for 17 years of fan service and we can call it a day. *snaps*

Sigh (48,871) by Alexis Morell Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan from USA
I'm reminded of when Mariah held back while singing "Chain of Fools" with Aretha at Diva's Live '98. She could've rather easily "out-sang" Aretha but she held back, not because she was intimidated but because she simply chose to.

Re: Abraham (48,862) by Alexis Morell Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan from USA
If that is your opinion, I both respect and disagree with it. Oh, and in order for you to give me a "bye", I would first have to have acknowledged you, and I didn't.

Re: B (48,860) by Alexis Morell Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan from USA
I have watched the Christmas concerts. They were good, the parts that were live. She really went for notes and seemed to have really rehearsed. I was proud of those concerts. A definite move in the right direction. However, a few isolated concerts where there is 90% live singing, while good for her, still isn't A+ game. Perhaps you and I just have different standards for what constitutes A+.

Re: B (48,851) by Alexis Morell Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan from USA
How can she slay any naysayer or lessor when she performs the way she does? I mean really? She barely brings her C+ game much less and A+ game. Instead of her and her fans worrying about the lessors and Ariana Grandes, attention needs to be paid to her own house. We can debate on the reasons all day, but until Mariah can sing well live and have a state presence that isn't uncomfortable to watch she will only, as she has been doing the last couple of years, slaying her herself, and not in a good way. I don't understand your logic: Mary ventured out and tried something new for her and has found great critical success. Even if the album flops, she has stretched artistically. She created music that fits her and her aging fan base. You speak as if Mariah is doing so well commercially, she needs whoever can help to save her.

Nick is not Bobby Brown (48,845) by Alexis Morell Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan from USA
I don't understand why some of you bash Nick so much. What was so egregious that he deserves this hate. Yes, he revealed too much in an interview or 2 but he didn't get her hooked on drugs, beat her, live off of her money, etc. Mariah actually did pretty well when it comes to diva marriages. The man has not one but several jobs and is his own person. He has never been "Mr. Mariah Carey". You have to respect that. Mariah is legendary, iconic, the best ever, but she isn't infallible. If judging her public behavior is any indication, it's not a stretch that she could be very difficult to live with and love privately.

Re: Madonna (48,844) by Alexis Morell Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan from USA
We can discuss Madonna's merits in another post. However, one thing we cannot deny is that while Madonna cannot sell an album in the US or score a hit here, she can:
1. score a hit overseas
2. have an album debut at #1 in most major markets (regardless of how is does subsequently)
3. she can sell out arena tours and npt have to do her biggest hits at said tour
4. she can still command major events (Superbowl, awards shows)
5. despite being vocally limited, she sings live at her shows
PS. I'm not a Madonna fan but I cannot deny her stats.

Nah (48,843) by Alexis Morell Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan from USA
See it's the chasing of this TEOM phantom album-style success that wastes our time as fans. TEOM was what it was, trying to recapture that is futile. In fact, many would argue that she has been chasing that album every since (E=MC2, Memoirs) only to have diminishing returns. Mariah has said many times that she has varying influences, not doing more r&b soul would not be outside of her comfort zone. How has Mary been a flop, she has a good, very broad international image and is well respected. Put it this way, I hear her on someone's radio station daily, when was the last time we heard Mariah and it wasn't an oldies' station or AIWFCIY?

Where do broken divas go? (48,838) by Alexis Morell Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan from USA
All this talk of a new album, dating, etc. isn't the best course for her imo. Everytime she has done a quick flop-rebound album, it's been lackluster, imo (Charmbracelet, Memoirs). I would like her to focus on her image. Doing some shows here and there just for the fans and for the vocal exercise as well as regaining some semblance of confidence on stage. I think vocal rest has done all it's going to do for her, exercising those chords may help. Focus on celebrating her 25th year. Performing a tv/internet special where she just does 5 or 6 songs from the debut album would be a lovely gift. No gowns, no antics, just what she was when she came out, a mic and three back up singers, a reunion with those guys would be lovely too. I would like to see her make forays into other things, pop up in Jimmy Kimmel skits, mentor on singing talent shows overseas, show up to awards shows just to be there (US and overseas). Jennifer Anniston wins nothing but is always on someone's red carpet. I would love for her to do what Mary J Blige is great at doing, being featured on other people's songs and scoring hits. Mary is quick to reach out to an artist she likes and re-record a version of their current hit. This would be a great way to keep Mariah out there as well as having her venture into other genres. I don't like her, but Aguilera's guest on Say Something was divine and so out of her her genre that it worked. Mariah could do this with overseas artists who idolize her.

Stop it (47,835) by Alexis Morell Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan from USA
Abraham, really? A new album next summer? Another TEOM? She's singing live so all problems are solved. I'm not even being sarcastic when I ask, "Where are you getting this from?"

Hmm (47,660) by Alexis Morell Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan from USA
I've been watching the videos and I guess it's just me but I'm not really impressed. Yea here and there she gives a clever run or a nice note but holistically it's not impressive. Oh well, enjoy lambs.

Chile (47,310) by Alexis Morell Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan from USA
For whatever reason she sounds like she does on this tour or for whatever reason she is lipsynching, it's beyond my care at the moment. I'd like to request a set list of rarities. If she isn't gonna sing live at least "perform" the songs I want to hear like I Don't Wanny Cry, Sweetheart, Do You Think Of Me, I Still Believe, etc. I'd throw a few coins her way to see her drag queen Mariah Carey imitation.

She's flown into the wind (47,134) by Alexis Morell Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan from USA
I'll give her that her opening nights are usually not the best of the tours. This show put me in a Rainbow tour/Adventures Of Mimi space. I just need to hear a full Vision Of Love performance. That and I'll Be There usually are the litmus test for her current vocal state. I'm concerned that the staging and theatricality are so abysmal. It's boring quite frankly. She looked like she had no damns to give about that show. She looked like Britney on stage, zoned out. If she isn't up to, then cancel the shows. We don't need another Britney Circus tour or Whitney Nothin' But Love tour. A part of me feels bad for Mariah but another part feels like she needs her butt kicked a bit for her shenanigans. I guess ultimately we have to ask ourselves who, including lambs, would pay good money to sit through a show like this?

You all don't know what to do (44,456) by Alexis Morell Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan from USA
Mariah's voice is rough, I got that. I would rather wince a few times at her concert than applaud wildly for a mimed/dubbed performance. We've yet to hear a live performance of any song from this album. For you pious lambs, you keep saying that there is no way any of of us can prove that she is lip-synching because we're not audio techs, we weren't there, etc. Well, with that same logic, can you prove that she didn't lip synch? Were you there? Were you in earshot of her singing that you can prove sounds were coming out of her mouth? I'll wait. And to the fans bringing up her home concert releases, yea they were dubbed, but you can listen to the bootleg of MSG 95, and she slayed for life, in some cases better than the dub. I've yet to see any proof of MTV Unplugged being dubbed. And not all of her tv performances have been dubbed. Many of the night shows are live. She may have done more than one take but there isn't time to dub.

Pull down those Tom Fords and act like you see (44,455) by Alexis Morell Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan from USA
Some of you lambs (I grow more and more turned off by that title these days) remind me of atheists. Some atheists are so zealous in proving that there is no God that they proselytize like religious folks. It is a great hypocrisy. You so called faithful lambs are so quick to play the martyrs and saviors of Mimi that you jump all over objective fans with allegations of being disloyal, suggestions of finding another diva, or claims of being incompetent. The gag is that you then complain that objective fans are being negative. I've been a fan for nearly 20 years, spent thousands of dollars and hours being Team Mariah. Therefore, I'm entitled to rant, rave, and praise her however and whenever I want. See, when you've been in the trenches with Mariah (Glitter, Charmbracelet), you were requesting Boy (I Need You), buying multiples copies of Loverboy, you've earned your seat at the Mariah discussion table. There is no way you can be a serious fan of Mariah's and not be able to tell her live, vs dubbed, vs completely lipsynched performances. Many of us have listened to her music so much that you literally know all of her songs in detail. So when Mariah does a certain note a real fan can tell if it's from the album version they've listened to 10,000 times or if it is mysteriously lowered a step or octave.

My true concern (42,665) by Alexis Morell Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan from USA
I'd be lying if I said I don't care about the commercial viability of this new project. However, I could stomach a flop if she can deliver 100% live vocals of the songs. Charmbracelet as a album was weak to me, however, the Charmbracelet tour vocals (what was live) made that era worth while.

Let's go (42,664) by Alexis Morell Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan from USA
I'm not a fan of the removal of the thumbs down feature. I've noticed with the diva fan communities, especially those of Mariah and Whitney, criticisms, no matter how constructive, are shunned. If a poster's feelings in the real world are hurt by a thumbs down then that reflects an issue with that poster which may or may not be mutually exclusive from the person who thumbed them down. It tends to be those sensitive fans who keep requesting Mariah to sing "Hero" or "CTTA (MT)".
