About nikki from usa:

Letting go (47,764) by nikki from usa
Mariah let go of Walter, but some fans seem to have problems letting him go. He's in the past, I say leave him there. His fan club will have to let me know if he's done anything spectacular since Celine's Titanic hit. If a good portion of the 90's he was getting undue credit and money from Mariah's work than I don't doubt he wants to work with her again. But, if Mariah states that she's been writing music and lyrics that Walter had been claiming undue rights to, then I believe her. I've read enough commentary from Walter to see he's not any better than Mottola. He takes credit for "his music", but when he talks about it in detail it's clear Mariah is hands-on and decides what the finished product sounds like. I doubt they had a falling out over one single argument, because years of work/friendship aren't undone that easily. It sounds like there's been tension for awhile. Finally, there was the straw that broke the camel's back. There For Me, Never Too Far, After Tonight. I say if we're going to return to A/C bring back David Foster.

"Control" is a funny thing (47,763) by nikki from usa
I do sometimes wonder if I'm the only one that watches her interviews. When Mariah talks about "creative" control, it's a far cry from what people on this board talk about when using the word "control". From Missy Elliot to Puff Daddy, everyone says the same thing. Mariah basically does everything, she's very adamant about what she wants, and doesn't want to stray too far from her sound. That's the music. It's different from the business end of things. Mariah was given the choice of lead single from EMC2 and she let JD pick it instead. She had 3 songs she liked the most and he chose. After Glitter Mariah talked about her lack of team and having to make the decisions herself. She didn't have anyone to bounce ideas off of. Mariah has a hard on for collabos. You can tell by the way she talks about it and her "process". She could just hire someone to write down music as she sings it, but she doesn't. You'll notice anyone who has ever asked MC to work with them, she has. All in all, it seems Mariah does want to work with others to create something she has in mind. But, she wants a type of business director who will put her on a path, let her take it from there musically, but decide on singles for her after she's brought him her prized collection. Tommy screwed up when he went from director to dictator.

I want a tour DVD (47,554) by nikki from usa
I hope this tour is extensive like Charmbracelet. I want a tour dvd that gives a little bit of "the best" from each concert and behind the scenes footage. You appear to be doing some extras out and about anyway. Then, bitch slap Bartels until he releases the CB tour on dvd while you're at it. Use your share of the money from those 2 dvd's to promote your next album yourself. Whatever you make will still be more than what Def Jam put into this release. Baby girl, you need a team. I don't know where your manager or publicist is at. You could always go the Shakira route and hire lawyers. Some blood thirsty ones that only get paid when you get paid. You'll be on the air faster than you can say, "Payola can kiss my ass."

When CEO's play stupid (47,523) by nikki from usa
First off, I'd like to point out almost 3 weeks ago I posted that Mariah had a cold and would gradually get better as she gets over it. I don't doubt emotional issues would also take a toll along with lack of sleep doesn't help. I claimed this would cause her healing to take awhile and as Mariah's vocals improved the press would simply stop talking about it because there was no way to bash her. So far, everything I said has transpired. What are we at now? Clothes? Next, Bartels doesn't think the fact the label didn't promote the album or any of its singles had anything to do with its performance? Seriously? Or the fact MC's own promotion was only marginally better? How about the fact her last music videos weren't even released? No manager or publicist. No major appearances. No Oprah, Ellen, Jay Leno. No live singing to promote the singles after Beautiful. Just for the sake of principle, I hope MC does a re-release and promotes it like she used to. How much you want to bet if she did that the album and singles sales would do better? Then, Steve will claim last year was just a "bad" time to release it.

Mariah's networth (47,458) by nikki from usa
I keep seeing this topic being brought up in the media. It's bad enough that facts are no longer needed, but apparently journalists today can't do math either. Supposedly, Nick is worth 70 million now and was only worth 20 when they married. Kudos to Nick for using his marriage to futher his career. I wonder if they're going to rename Husbands of Hollywood now that most of the cast is single? Nick tripled his net worth during his marriage and still isn't worth a quarter of Mariah's money. I doubt MC will need alimony. It's funny how the writers "forget" to mention MC's 18 million American Idol deal, perfume empire, nail polish line, continuous concerts, or yearly Christmas success. If Mariah quit everything tomorrow, she'd still make millions yearly. Then, there's that little thing called "interest". Since, Nick has been so insistent on making his own way throughout their marriage than he's got no new lifestyle that he's come accustomed to. He's not going to need support either.

Hate to destroy a good lynch mob but... (47,358) by nikki from usa
When Mariah didn't promote her album and was silent my first reaction was "something's wrong". It was shocking how so many people jumped to "she's stuck up" or "thinks her name can sell her album alone" comments. As far as this tour goes, she's been practicing for months, and her team was gushing over her voice. Now, she's having voice issues and is very badly lipsyncing some of her songs. That tells me that the lipping is a last minute change that wasn't rehearsed. Now, what logical reason would cause this? What if she woke up the morning of with a cold? It's too last minute for Mariah to cancel. If she went on vocal rest until showtime than her vocals would be especially rusty. Which would explain why fans said her vocals improved as the night went on. All the reports I've read (pretty much all of them) claimed her voice has been getting better with each concert even though it's well under par. It would make sense that MC would have to lip some songs to preserve her voice to hit notes in other songs throughout the night. Pick and choose her battles. If this show is about her live vocals than a cold is the worst thing that could happen because there would be no back up plan. The media will show the worst moments and lip parts to sensationalize, but they're not going to show you anything she sang well.

Re: K-zee (47,316) by nikki from usa
How was the concert? All the reports are slamming her and claim most people were walking out. Is that true? I have yet to find any good reviews and she's on her third show. There's always critics, but usually there's a few highlights in there. What's most shocking is all these reviews are slamming her, but not one of them actually discussed anything that actually happened during the concert. When she came out with Charmbracelet we at least knew there was a circus theme. I only found one review that said her performance was better than Japan's, but still slammed it for not being up to par.

Re: May (47,309) by nikki from usa
I have to say I was shocked when I saw MC was only giving herself 2 days between shows. During her Daydream tour she only sang one concert per week. If she's not feeling well as it is, this will slow the healing process down a bit and she'll need a few more so-so performances and lipsync vocal breaks before she's back to vocal form. Mark my words, once she is up to par, the press will immediately stop talking about her and just re run all the "bad" vocal performances. One of the major differences which most people overlook between the 90's and today is the promotion. Back in the 90's there were only so many major magazines, talk shows, and dj's. You could reach major audiences with every appearance and still have plenty of time for vocal rest in between. There was only VH1, MTV, and then BET for pure music. Now, we have the internet with 20,000 trash talking websites. Everyone and their brother has a talk show, so on and so forth. She doesn't have the vocal rest time she once had and I think she's over reaching. Only 2 days of vocal rest while she's also traveling from country to country during that time isn't sufficient rest for her instrument. If she needed a week in between when she was 26, I don't see 2 days at 44 doing her justice.

Old school, the show must go on attitude (47,291) by nikki from usa
It sounds to me like Mariah has a cold. She sounded very similiar to other live performances throughout the years where she sings sick. She will too, because she has that "the show must go on" attitude. Divas Live, despite her sore throat and doctor's recommendation, she sang. The Adventures Tour kick off was almost postponed due to MC's viral infection, but Mariah refused. She locked herself in a hotel room for 3 days with humidifiers and went on anyway. Her next stop was Tampa where I was front and center. Her vocals were amazing and she adlibbed up a storm. Exhibit A is her Around The World video. She kicks off in Asia and her voice is 100% perfect. By the time we reach Hawaii Mariah has a cold. You can hear it in her vocals. The one thing that the rest of her Adventures and Charmbracelet tours had in common where her vocals were amazing were buses. Constant traveling in hotel rooms is Mariah's vocal kryptonite because it affects her sleep and exposes her to too many germs. I'd wait for several more concerts before declaring "vocal decline" because we've heard far better from her not too long ago.

Diva down, that never was (47,034) by nikki from usa
Apparently, the quieter Mariah is the more venomous the press gets. Gossip sites are overflowing with crazy stories and dragging her name through the mud. They all seem to acknowledge she's going through a divorce, but somehow make Mariah out to be some kind of a monster. WTF? Even Nick's twitter defense rant didn't help. If anything, it egged them on. I don't see Thicke or J.Lo getting the kind of crap Mariah's been getting for album sales either. Didn't they learn their lesson the last time they counted her out? As much as the press wants everyone to believe Mariah's "over", they 180 by comparing every newbie to her success. If sounding like MC can get you a hit, than Mariah will never be over. Hip pop today is a staple in music courtesy of Mariah. Over 2 million people tuned in this year to an MC special that was never promoted or publicized, just to hear this woman sing and talk. Everyone should fully expect the media to be "shocked" once again when Mariah decides to promote herself, by actually lifting a finger, to secure a future hit.

Re: video (46,948) by nikki from usa
Yes, actually that's part of the reason I put it up. The other one was a gossip trying to put them together as a couple by replaying the same hug and peck back to back as if it happened numerous times. This one explains MC's support of the movie and The Rock spotting her for a quick hug. Basically, it shows what actually happened instead of the gossip's embellishment. I understand if you don't want to clutter up the board with the same stuff, but I just wanted to say my part. I think it's unfair the media gets to distort the truth and no one ever gets to see the objective pieces. That's all.

Re: Abraham (46,937) by nikki from usa
I love The Art Of Letting Go. I never understood the negativity from fans on this board when she released it. We've been asking for a bare vocals and piano song, and she delivered. Poor girl can't win for losing. But, I loved the song it was inspiring. Sometimes, the vocals and mood of the music is far more important. There's beauty in simplicity and raw emotion. As for the Rock, I wouldn't worry about it. I think it would be great if they became buddies because they have so much in common. Not so much the dating. Mariah is still married and he's been in a long term relationship for awhile now. MC has so many friends in the music biz I think she should gain some more outsides that circle. I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to see Mariah and The Rock in a comedy together or something James Bond related.

I'll leave you everytime for Mariah (46,936) by nikki from usa
Although, a lot of the media are now trying to pair MC and The Rock as a couple, MC was basically supporting the movie for her friend Brett Ratner. The Rock's a fan.

Thought on Dwayne Johnson (46,905) by nikki from usa
Abraham, I think you have something against him for simply having muscles. Nick has those too and MC seems to be into that. If MC would ever hook up with him it would be because they have so much in common. They both like children, are around the same age, family-oriented, and his fortune is closer to Mariah's in stature. They both reached the pinnacle of their respective professions and are already legends. They both are seeking different avenues within the field to enlarge their brand. Mariah's an Aries and enjoys sports and action films. She hung from a rope over the ocean in Honey, she and Luis went bungee jumping together, and she loves roller-coasters. He's action oriented, so they would have a lot of fun together. Hercules is an awesome movie and he's starred in kids movies too. Overall, career and life-wise, they're in the same league.

Lucky, lucky bastards (46,493) by nikki from usa
MC is on fire on her twitter account. She's letting the fans choose between AYNAF and My Saving Grace. Side Effects vs. Petals. She's asking for fan favorites of her catalog and of this current album. She better come to the States.
I don't see Nick and MC reuniting. Nick is now going out live on AGT without his wedding ring for 2 nights in a row now and MC added a tour date on Nick's birthday. I just hope those reports about him taking care of a mistress aren't true. If he fell in love with someone else than that would explain why they're not trying to fix anything. But, again, until someone makes an official statement we all got nothing.

Divorce sum up, just the facts (46,430) by nikki from usa
Both Mariah and Nick are still wearing their wedding bands in every pic that's been taken of them so far. Nick recently left their home in NYC with a smile on his face. They had dinner last Friday night. That certainly looks like divorce with no reconciliation. Nick's dad was plugging a book he wrote on relationships from 2011 and the media spun it to be about MC and his son. Neither Nick or his wife are commenting and apparently this translates to Mariah having a muzzle on Nick.

Re: Carla my problem with Mariah (46,407) by nikki from usa
I'm not talking about Mariah making any responses guarding her situation period. In the 90's we all knew generalizations about our celebs, but we knew their music more than anything else. MC doesn't have to share her privacy. Nor am I talking about "attacking" anybody. Letting people tear her apart isn't "classy". I'm talking specifically about the media taking things too far and giving them consequences for it. I also specifically stated that Mariah doesn't need to fight everyone, but she needs to draw a line somewhere. Mariah doesn't have to do it herself, either. Simply having a rep telling them to back off while the family is experiencing a difficult time would reduce some of the sensationalism. It's diplomatic and doesn't answer anything. Not saying anything period will just make the media more blood hungry.

My problem with Mariah (46,396) by nikki from usa
I wish at some point she would stand up for herself. The problem with silence is it allows slack jawed yokels to talk. All anyone knows about MC for the past 15 years is gossip columnist stories. We used to get specials, interviews, and live behind the scenes. You got to know Mariah and form your own opinion. Now, the only "information" is rumors. After hearing them for 15 years people believe them. Mariah will allow anyone to mess with her and that's why they do. Quite frankly, the gossip about her mental state is pure slander and defamation of character. Passing someone off as crazy for keeping to themselves and taking care of their kids is uncalled for. They should be threatened with a lawsuit. A rep should release a statement telling the press to back off and allow the family privacy. If the press is so concerned with their children's well being than they should stop dragging their parent's names through the mud. MC doesn't need to fight everyone, but she should have some standards, and check those who cross them.
(Tuesday 26 August 2014; 18:28)
Don't fall for the hype, you should recognize by now (46,327) by nikki from usa
All of this divorce BS should be taken with a grain of salt. You'll notice this is still all the same gossip of the past 2 years, none of it changed, it just became more embellished. The "Mariah's unstable" crap is revisiting the old classics. It must be a slow news week. Nick only made one comment to a friend which has been blown out of proportion. On the "insider" with Yahoo, no less, one of Nick's friends had recently talked to Nick. He simply stated that he and MC were going through a "rough patch" and they were currently living separately. Nothing about duration or divorce. The one thing MC has repeatedly said over this year about the "abandoner" is that he's never home. This could be nothing more than a Hollywood version of a wife making her husband sleep on the couch. I think Nick is using his career as an escape because he's having trouble coming to terms with his lupus and trying to keep busy so he doesn't have to deal with it. Ignoring his family is a side effect. Until Mariah or Nick and their people come forward with official statements everything read should be taken with a grain of salt.

Mariah and Nick extended (46,127) by nikki from usa
Those are very good points, LC. There might be something to that. Nick was on Hot 97 and Power 106 last month and said he and MC were "fine" and he "just left the house" when asked if they were separated. Last week he was on Jimmy Fallon Live and didn't say anything about MC directly. He mentioned, "*we* don't like the kids watching TV. It's Frozen 24/7 in my house." On Mariah's instagram site she has a picture of a book with her hand on it. Her butterfly ring is where her engagement ring should be, but she is still wearing her wedding band. It was weird because they're usually gaga over each other's projects, and haven't been in awhile. Although, to be fair, Mariah isn't really talking about her own either. But, I'm sure that silence will be over pretty soon.

Re: webmaster (46,119) by nikki from usa
I laughed, I got it. The thing that sucks about text is there's no infliction for sarcasm or anything else. Everything is taken at face value. Although, where PR is concerned I wouldn't worry about it. Over the past few years, that's become a staple in the business. I noticed with Shakira's release they mentioned a bunch of "hit" singles that weren't even released here. Same with Rihanna and even Eminem. It's not just them either. There's been a great deal of inflation for just about everyone and all the PR systems do it. Out of all of them, Mariah's actually the closest to real numbers. Originally, MC's website had specified "world" tour. I had assumed "Memoirs" was small and this meant she'd be hitting a lot of continents on this one.

Surprised no one else noticed (46,113) by nikki from usa
After the announcement of her label descending into 3 different ones I thought everything Mariah was doing finally made sense. This process would have begun long before the official announcement and within the label people would've known their time was coming up. Mariah hasn't had a publicist in 2 years. No one was promoting her album or single so she stalled with several releases of Beautiful. The label was about to be permanently shuffled and Mariah's project would be lost in it. She noticed the red flags because she already deja-ed this vu at Virgin Records. She decided to create an album she'd be proud of as an artist instead, since it was unlikely that it would be supported, especially since this was her last. All these singles being released from iTunes to Facebook was MC testing her markets. "In the future we won't need labels." Mariah's using this era as a testing ground to find new ways to promote herself. She's doing a lot of behind the scenes things from changing publishers to new products. We know of 2 music videos created which haven't been released, she's going on tour, and has a beverage out that's going to give fans exclusive material. It looks like MC is working on a connection with the hardcore fanbase and working outward with the tour. Mariah's getting all her ducks in a row for a good reason. Times change and you need to find your niche. That's exactly what she's been doing from private Clear Channel performances within the industry and mini tours she's been on from 2012-2013. She's recreating her name starting with MC basics: her success, her music, her vocals. Until the ink is dry on her other projects she's not going to make it known, especially if she's having home issues. Mariah Carey: "I can't stop writing songs so don't be surprised if you hear a brand new song that I just wrote the night before the show in your city." Perhaps the fans will choose the songs that make up her next album?
