The Infinity era? (55,572)
by Ardis Logic from Earth
| |
|

Not sure what to call this current MC era. Is it the Vegas era, the Infinity era, or the Packer era? Anyway, MC seems to be beaming with joy in every picture. I love to see her happy. Now that she is in the studio, I can't wait to hear some new music. I am a happy little lamb.

May she rest in peace (55,478)
by Ardis Logic from Earth

The whole situation with Whitney and her beautiful daughter Bobbi Kristina is heartbreaking. I really don't understand why things like this have to happen. I just hope that her spirit can be at peace now. I hope they get to the bottom of how this all happened. I have a very bad feeling that someone is behind both of their deaths. It's just too freaky that they both almost died the same way.

Often imitated never duplicated (55,451)
by Ardis Logic from Earth

Yeah you're right Kate from the UK, those songs do sound very similar to MC's songs. That's crazy. It reminds me of the quote "Hate on me as much as you want to. You can't do what the fuck I do. Bitches be emulating me daily. Hate on me, much as you want to, you can't be who the fuck I be. Bitches be imitating me baby." I like Jennifer Hudson though, she has a great voice.

Mimi is in love? (55,443)

Mariah and James look so happy. I am really happy for her. At the same time I can't help but be a little worried. I just hope that he is a good, sincere man, who has good intentions toward MC. I hate to see her heartbroken and crying. I truly hope that they are really in love, and happy together.

James and Mariah (55,420)

Sitting in a tree K I S S I N G. "She's got a new boyfriend. Loverboy." Yeah ok, just being playful. So it must be pretty serious between those two if she is dedicating songs to him. Plus she said he was in her heart. Wow. That's awesome. I am so happy for her.

Sex on Mondays only (55,419)
by Ardis Logic from Earth
| |
|
|
Seriously? Ok this one made me literally laugh out loud. There is no way this can be true, right? For one, when you have a new love in your life, things are usually very hot and heavy. We're talking everyday, every night, sex all the time (for most people). Plus MC is an older woman, it's said that the closer a woman gets to 40, that her sex drive increases. I think MC is a hot tamale. This one can't be true. Can it?

Only 1 MC song (55,417)
by Ardis Logic from Earth
| |
|

If you had to pick only 1 song of Mariah's to listen to the rest of your life, what song would that be? I know this is a very hard choice, but it's fun. I would have to say that I would want to hear "Daydream Interlude (Fantasy Sweet Dub Mix)" from the Daydream album for the rest of my life. I have always gone back to the song, and I never get tired of it. It gives me a feeling like I am free. It feels so positive and sexy. It has beautiful high notes in it, and just has an awesome vibe about it. I love that song so much. I will probably change my mind later but as of now that is the song I would pick. Ok your turn.

"Music Box" (55,408)

I totally agree with you Bill. I love "Music Box". The whole album is a masterpiece. So many amazing songs on there. Not to mention, there are songs on that album that brought me, and so many other Mariah fans, comfort during hard times. That album is so special.

Other artists (55,392)

Thank you to all who responded to my question. It's cool to see the wide selection of music that we all like. I really was happy to see Selena Quintanilla mentioned. I will always have a special place in my heart for her. Her music is timeless and will live on forever. I already mentioned that I like Lana Del Rey. I am into everything from classic country like Dolly Parton, The Judds, George Straight, Garth Brooks and such, to heavy metal and everything in between. I like classic Metallica, Megadeth, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alanis Morissette, I am a 90's child for sure. I miss that whole grunge era. I also love the Beastie Boys, 2 Pac, Notorious B.I.G. all the classic "real" hip-hop, Jodeci, Aaliyah, TLC, I love classic rock like ZZ Top, Van Halen, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, and Janis Joplin. If it's "good stuff" I like it.

Your other favorite artists? (55,359)
by Ardis Logic from Earth

We all love Mariah here... at least I hope so. I was just curious to know, besides Mariah, what other artists are you all into? I am not really into any of the modern music out there, but my guilty pleasure is listening to Lana Del Rey. I like her songs Video Games, Blue Jeans, Burning Desire and others. She just has this dark, sexy vibe about her that I can relate with and I find very intriguing. What about you?

Who's the man? (55,337)
by Ardis Logic from Earth
| |
|
|
There has been a dramatic change in the work force in the last few years. I think most men who are "stay at home fathers" would probably rather be working, but it is just gotten extremely difficult for men to find jobs. Too many jobs are also geared more towards women. Also because of the war, that has been going on for what feels like forever, there are a lot more men who are at home now disabled, so they stay at home and their wife works. There should be no shame in this at all. Men who stay at home and take care of the kids and house should be respected just the same as the women who have done it for years. Plus if the woman wants to be with a man who is a "stay at home dad" that is her choice. Who are we to judge their situation? If that situation is not for you then don't get into it. Simple as that.

The issue of cheating / proof? (55,335)
by Ardis Logic from Earth
| |
|
|
We all know that Mariah expresses herself through music. Right? So I wonder why in the world she choose this song to sing of all songs. Just at that time when her relationship with Nick was falling apart. "Don't Explain" originally recoded by Billie Holiday. Then Mariah choose to change the lyrics to "I know you cheated, motherf--ker," instead of, "And I know you cheat, Right or wrong, don't matter." I wonder why she would do that for no reason? That's all the proof I need right there. Mariah herself is telling us that this man cheated on her.

What did Nick do? (55,324)
by Ardis Logic from Earth
| |
|
|
He was immature, cheated on Mariah, broke her heart, then filed for divorce, which made her cry at many public appearances. In my book that makes him, to put it nicely, "not cool". So that's probably why some of us here have a problem with him. If you are the kind of person who thinks that behavior is cool, then well, ok, it's your life. You live it how you want.

More love for "Boy (I Need You)" (55,247)
by Ardis Logic from Earth
| |
|
|
Let's take a look at the video again please. I think it is really hot and exciting, with a lot going on. The story line is sexy. First of all, Mariah looks stunningly gorgeous. The scene in the beginning with the samurai dude flexing is really good. He is hot. (I am a female, but I can see if you are a straight male this would not really matter to you. ) This video is also way ahead of its time in the way that a little mini robot is assisting MC get dressed. I love the whole Asian theme. The orange boots are "super fly". Cameron's rap is not the best in the world, but it's definitely not as bad as others she had worked with. The little dancing "fairy girl" in the video is totally cute. I love the scene in the video when they are analyzing her voice. This video also features the return of "Ms. Bianca" that was hot. Then you have the whole action fighting scene with the samurai who is protecting Mariah from the other Asian stalker. I thought it was great back in the day, and now that I just watched it again I will have this awesome song in my head all day.

Video: Whitney puts Wendy Williams in her place (55,095)
by Ardis Logic from Earth

I miss Whitney so much. My heart breaks for her poor daughter. Sending lots of love to her right now. Anyways. I found this awesome video of the fierce Whitney. She was such a bad ass woman. She put Wendy right in her place. I wonder if MC will ever get that chance. In this "freaking classic" video, Wendy asks Whitney about her and Bobby having sex. Wendy asks her "I bet you all have wild circus sex don't you?" and Whitney responds, "Wendy, don't make me meet you outside. Come on now, you getting too deep. You could picture it couldn't you, you nasty bitch." She was so bad ass. RIP Miss Whitney you are missed.

That Wendy is at it again (55,065)
by Ardis Logic from Earth
| |
|
|
"And I was like, why you so obsessed with me?" Yeah, this woman loves to talk about Mariah. She just makes up some random shade to throw at her. Wendy said "I don't picture Mariah being fun in a relationship, like I picture her being child-like to a point of unicorns. It's cute in the beginning, but all of a sudden, a guy wants to be with a woman. And I don't picture Mariah - I don't picture her having sex." Whatever Wendy. Why would you want to picture that anyway? Unless you have a crush on her or something. It's just nonsense. There was a lot more shade than that too. Just trying to get ratings and attention by talking about MC. So lame.

Re: Dupri (55,047)
by Ardis Logic from Earth
| |
|
|
So he says Mariah does what she wants, and doesn't give the fans what they want. On one hand I think that as an artist you have to do what you do, without input from others. You feel creative, and it comes out naturally. Mariah is one of the few people out there who actually writes most of her own songs, this gives her a signature sound. I have noticed that many of her fans like the "classic" Mariah better than the Mariah of today. Well guess what? That "classic" MC era was very much tainted by dictatorship. She still got to write her own music and things of that nature, but she wasn't totally free to be herself. Plus she was very much still a teenager, being manipulated to do what others wanted. So I can understand why now she wants to do what she wants. On the other hand, it would be nice if she would at least take into consideration what the fans want, and in some ways I know she does. What is up with Dupri talking about Mariah all the time anyway? Seems like he is just using her name trying to get attention. Get over it already dude.

Chivalry is dead (55,029)
by Ardis Logic from Earth
| |
|
|
The world has been watching MC and Packer very closely. So close, that they noticed when MC almost feel down the stairs that he did nothing to try and help her. Yes, he does have those other guys there that did help her. I would guess that they work for him, so he feels that there is nothing he could do to help, so he just stayed put, but you would think he would at the very least jump to his feet and act a little more concerned for someone who he claims to have to much love for. It seems a little odd. That's the thing about wearing shoes like that. If you can't walk on your own without assistance, then why wear them at all? Seems a little ridiculous to me that some women feel they have to wear those kinds of shoes to be stylish. Some really cute sandals would have been much more appropriate and safer.

Rehearsal concerns (55,028)
by Ardis Logic from Earth
| |
|
|
Why are so many of you so worried about Mariah getting back to Vegas? She is very professional, she knows what she is doing. It's really good to see her enjoying herself for a change and smiling a lot more that I have seen in the past few years. Remember when she skipped the BMA rehearsal? It turned out that she did a great job. I'm sure after the holiday weekend she will be heading back to prepare for her show on July 8th. So try not to worry so much. MC knows what time it is.
