Mariah (92,439)

Why can't we just accept Mariah for who she is in regards to her strengths and weaknesses. To continuously put her up against other vocalists does nothing to diminish her greatness or theirs. We should be grateful for the fact that we still have our Mariah amongst us giving us her legendary talents, and artistry. With all the gifts she has blessed upon us we should be celebrating her because she is finally going to be recognized for something that she loves, and a craft that we have come to love, and respect her for.

During this period Mariah was still in a place of feeling under appreciated and uncertainty in her abilities after Glitter. B you are correct it was LA and JD who convinced M during the recording of TEOM that she needed to get her confidence back, and sing, and remind the doubters including herself that the voice was still tact, and needed to be heard.

When it comes to Celine playback is nothing new, she has been doing it for quite sometime. The fact of the matter is she will never get judged as harshly as MC no matter what the situation is. Also I feel like we need to accept that Mariah is, and has always been judged and treated differently even during her early years. It is a blessing that she has the light, and strength to continue to overcome everything that has been thrown her way.

YME vs YDKWTD (92,379)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
| |

|
Another era that was killed by poor mismanagement. Beautiful was definitely a step in the right direction musically the video was a step in the wrong direction and killed the momentum, besides another lazy single choice with "You’re mine (Eternal)". "You don’t know what to do" would have been a great follow up to Beautiful also to go along with the summertime vibes. Unfortunately we can not undo the mistakes, and mismanagement of the past, we can only focus on the present, and hopefully what is to come of the future. All we can do is be optimistic and continue to hope for the best when it comes to Mariah personally, and professionally.

It's official (92,374)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)

To begin 2020 Mariah had the number 1 song in the US, which extended her record as solo artist with the most number 1's. She also made history with the most weeks at number 1 and she extended record as the first and only artist to have a number 1 song expanding four decades. Today is was officially announced that Mariah will be officially inducted into the 2020 class of the Songwriters Hall of fame. She is one of few women. This is a great achievement to mark her 30 year in the music industry. She was the first artist announced as an inductee. Congratulations Mariah you have definitely earned this honor and recognition.

Important recordings (92,346)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
| |
|
|
Mariah has proven to be a very versatile artist tackling different genres of music throughout her storied career. But if I had to choose what recordings are most important to her career I would say these three in no particular order. 1.Vision Of Love was the introduction to the world of who Mariah Carey was, also this song become an inspiration for other female vocalists. It was also a popular song on both sides of the spectrum of pop and R&B. 2. Fantasy. This song in particular brought the Hip-pop formula to the mainstream and has been a staple ever since. 3. All I Want For Christmas is you. This song has taken a life of its own and become a timeless Christmas classic, and has gained more popularity than many other standard Christmas songs.

Bill / Migrate (92,297)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
| |
|
|
Bill don’t jump the gun because Mariah herself wanted Migrate to be the official second single from E=MC2, but her label IDJ and the powers that be chose Bye Bye as the official second single. They allowed her to go with TMB as the lead single because they were fighting between TMB, and TC to lead off the album.

Things have definitely taken a turn (92,282)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
| |
|
|
Welcome to 2020, because things have definitely taken a step back after the great way 2019 ended. I can admit everything is not for everybody. But why must some of paint negative narrative because you may not agree with something that MC does, or has plans to do before it sees the light of day. Personally everyone has a story to tell, and many stories have been told about Mariah from others point of view, so I don’t see the problem with her wanting to tell her own story. Yes this year marks different milestones in MC’s career this year can add to those milestones, and as her supporters we should hold our judgment until things actually happen, because we might be jumping the gun, and the outcome might be the opposite of what many people are thinking. Be optimistic, rather than being negative.

90's (92,254)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
| |
|
|
This year will definitely be a throwback to 90's references musically. I think that Mariah who basically ruled that era can definitely benefit from this but it has to have a fresh feel to it in the vein of working with people who were apart of that era who can capture what is needed musically. Personally I think even though she and JD created some great music together during that time unless they come up with fresh take that pays homage but still brings something new, and not the same sound this move can work but if they try to recreate any past efforts it will just fall flat. Why not add Dave Jam Hall to the list as well (Dreamlover and Fantasy). Timbaland and Missy Elliott would be a nice touch as well. Danja could work too, poo bear, Dev Haynes, No ID, and a producer who has never worked with MC before but can capture the mood and sounds of the 90's.

Caution (92,239)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
| |
|
|
The Caution era was the era that was created by Mariah and her team to repair her image after the nightmare era, and the mismanagement of the MIAM era before that woman and company came along. This era upcoming will be in the right order because RocNation is all about being professional, and operating with integrity. All that needs to be done is the music has to be top notch and Mariah has to be willing to commit herself into making a timeless era that this new generation, and fans alike will remember.

Ticket sells (92,154)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
| |
|
|
We are definitely in a different time, and era touring is a major way for many artists to make a living besides side projects because album sells have continued to diminish throughout the last decade. Honestly a lot of these newer artists are trying to keep their money flowing just as established artists are trying to do. But we should not compare an established artist like M to Ariana because there fan bases are two different demographics, and even if we compared them at 26 it would be unfair because it is two different eras and Ariana will never see those sells numbers because they will never happen in the music industry again. But there is room for both.

Not for long (92,147)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
| |
|
|
After all the great things that happened to Mariah to end the year, and a decade that saw a lot of twists and turns to say the least. I see that our dysfunctional family is back to being an angry, and negative majority again. It is sad when it becomes the supporters who are betting against you many times after feeling like you have to prove yourself constantly as Mariah does mostly all the time. We are not going to like or love everything that Mariah does, however we do not have to continue to be apart of the negative circus either. As long as she gives us great music which is what we love for in the first place what she decides to do in her personal life outside of entertainment we should allow her to live her life as long as she is happy, and healthy, and more importantly that her children are doing well and she is being the best mother to them that she is allowed, and blessed to be.

Collaborators past and present (92,077)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)

Musically I would not mind if MC decided to work [with] some of the following people again while adding some of [the] following people into the fold. She could work with Blood Orange, Timbaland, Missy Elliott, No ID, and Danja, Now [the] following people she could add to the list of collaborators: Disclosure, Sam Romans, Naughty Boy, DJ Premiere, and Salaam Remi.

2020 (92,076)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
| |
|
|
I am Mimi, and her management team have already mapped out the different projects that she plans on dedicating her focus on in 2020. Musically if anything I doubt if she will anyone else to just write a song for she is just not that kind of artist, and that is what makes her in part who she is. All my life I fit in the time where a soundtrack was based on and Rick James fit the bill perfectly. Also contractually for the Glitter soundtrack she was only to provide six original songs. Whatever Mimi decides to musically as long as it is a cohesive, and strong body of work, as I felt Caution was I will be satisfied. But I would love her to start with a hot uptempo banger that bridges a great melody and a banging hook with a pop and R&B vibe that we know that Mimi can bring she will be alright.

Signature song (92,016)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
| |
|
|
As fans of MC different songs have different meanings for each of us. But when breakdown it can be very difficult to choose just one signature song. If I to choose I would say Always Be My Baby is a great melody, that gives you a fun vibe it can be played on any station and make you feel good, even people who may not love MC as we do know this song. Side bar, Always Be My Baby has aged well, and sounds timeless. But Hero, and All I Want for Christmas is You are also great contenders for Mariah's signature song as well.

by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)

|
Word on the curb is Mariah will once again be in the music history books once the Hot 100 chart of the week is revealed. She will once again take the #1 spot and become the first artist in history to have a number 1 single in four different decades, as well as 82 weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart the most for any artist ever. Congratulations to Mariah, as well as, all of us who have supported our queen throughout her amazing career. Here is to more greatness, and record breaking moments in 2020. Blessings to all, and all the best in the year ahead, and beyond.

Grammys (91,958)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
| |
|
|
To be real the Grammys are a political contest for the music industry. I am not surprised by their treatment of Mariah even during her heights of the 90's she was barely recognized. Even when she defied the odds of the greatest comeback in pop music to date she won but none of her categories were televised. A year later when MJB won the Grammy award for Best Female R&B performance the category was televised which tells me the Grammy committee has never been in Mariah's corner. But that does not take away from the great music that she has blessed the world with.

He has been given credit and compensation for the work he has done with MC throughout the years that they worked together. However I believe that he feels that he is entitled to more, and responsible for the success that she experienced while they worked together. Because if you look at her earlier work other than were noted MC was the lyrical genius behind a lot of her work.
