About Manny from U.S.: I have loved Mariah since I heard Vision of Love back in 1990. I was captivated by her range, tone and beauty. I wanted to know more about her. I have followed her career and life ever since.

Thank you G.G. (41,677) by Manny from U.S.
Thank you G.G. for posting the video of Sam Moore "It's only Make Believe" (feat. Mariah & Vince Gill). I hadn't heard it a long time and I love this version. It made my day.

Sam Moore (41,636) by Manny from U.S.
Does anyone know where I can find the audio of Sam Moore's It's Only Make Believe (featuring Mariah Carey and Vince Gill)? I heard it years ago, but now I can't find it anywhere online. I somehow had that song stuck in my mind today even though I can't reminder the last time I heard it.

Lovers and haters (41,520) by Manny from U.S.
I guess there are different levels of fans: lambs, lovemuffins, lovers and haters. I know it's not about liking everything Mariah does, wears, releases, etc. I do have to say the expectations from her are real high. About her image. I hate how much criticism she gets here. I mean it is not like she's starting to wear gold grills or flashes her twins. About her music. It almost sounds like some fans want Mariah to have her songs/albums custom-made. How would that work? She would have a website and you can order which album cover you want, options for ballads, up-tempo songs, club remixes, etc. We could even order how many whistle notes we want. If I was Mariah and read some comments from here, I would be exhausted. She cannot please everyone. I mean give her a break. If her image, new music and antics bother you that much, it might be time to move on. She is who she is and we cannot change her.

You're Mine composition (41,442) by Manny from U.S.
There's a guy who re-wrote the piano music of You're Mine already on YouTube. His user name is Hasit Nanda. It's cool to hear the music only. If you like song, you'll appreciate this.

You're Mine ( Eternal) (41,206) by Manny from U.S.
Wow the song puts me in a hypnotic, starry-eyed, and trance-like state. The part where she sings "I can't seem to live without your love, and I just can't seem to give you up, you're mine" sounds hypnotic to me. The different textures of her background vocals and subtle sounds also send me into this hypnotic state. The lyrics are so relatable. When you love someone and you're not over it, you keep thinking they're yours. I still feel like that about an ex. Even though we might never get back together. The last note where she transites into the high note sounded so flawless. Like when you're playing strings on a musical keyboard and you play a note and then hit a note 1 1/2 octaves higher. The transition is so smooth and the ethereal. I hope the public enjoys it like us (Lambily). Mariah, you've done it again. You are a true artist!

Mariah dancing (41,032) by Manny from U.S.
Mariah has been dancing since the beginning. Remember the Someday video at around 2:50. She does the running man. I don't think Mariah is the best dancer. I think she looks cute when she dances because she is trying. On the Adventures of Mimi tour, I thought she tried much more. It would look more awkward for her just to sing and not move on an up tempo song. Just a thought.

Obsessed (40,911) by Manny from U.S.
I love "Obssessed" and the video. I like how it was a shot at M&M. It's a fun song and video not meant to be taken too serious. When I was in college, my schoolmates would sing it when a particular professor walked in to class. The lady was a self-absorbed megalomaniac. I started singing it one day and told them the song reminded me of her since she thought the world revolved around her. So it stuck and it was an inside joke. When I listen to the song, it reminds me of those days. When out of boredom from school, I made Mariah reference jokes. Lol.

Lee Daniels on Arsenio show (40,747) by Manny from U.S.
Have you guys seen this clip? Lee Daniels tells Arsenio that Mariah got some surgery on her cheeks. Mariah has denied rumors of surgery (Sharon Osbourne AMA comment). I wonder if Mariah would be upset at Lee for saying this. They are good friends. Just a thought. I know it seems irrelevant to talk about this, but I have noticed Mariah looked different than when she started her career. I love her anyway.

Voting for Almost Home (40,627) by Manny from U.S.
Is anyone voting for Almost Home for the Coldwell Banker contest? I'm just curious. I've been voting throughout the day. You can vote as many times as you want. I jus feel Almost Home was underrated and it deserves done recognition. Someone posted the link today. I am not sure how to post it.

Sunshine Divalamb (40,576) by Manny from U.S.
Thank you, you read my mind. The contest is for a good cause, for the children. Let's try to support Mariah with this contest. I'm pretty sure she was excited about coming up with this idea about the private concert and the heart necklace contest. Let's remember Mariah is a superstar but she has feelings too.

Make it go away (40,418) by Manny from U.S.
I remember reading that Mariah wrote the song "Make it go away" from the "Wisegirls" soundtrack. I went to the BMI website but I don't know where to look for an artists catalogue. I totally love this song and in my mind I always thought Mariah wrote it . Can anyone help me with this. Lately, I've been listening to "Right To Dream". It has such beautiful lyrics. I can relate to it in a different way than Mariah's character. Something random thing: Does anyone remember MTV (around Music Box era) showed an interview and they asked her about her whistle register. She said something like, "My mother is an opera singer and sometimes when I hit those notes she looks at me like 'how do you do that?' I don't know it's a freakish thing for me sometimes." And then she giggles. It was the funniest, cutest thing. I can't find the clip/interview on YouTube. Does anybody remember or know where I can get it?

Walter Afanasieff (40,297) by Manny from U.S.
I was watching the Butterfly era interview with MTV's Tabitha Soren. Mariah was asked about firing Walter. She says how could she fire him if that's her producer. She also said something like telling Walter a secret and him repeated it. It sounds like that's where all the drama between them started.

Beyonce / Mariah (40,217) by Manny from U.S.
There is a lot of buzz on Beyonce's album. Mariah had something planned like that with the song TAOLG. Beyonce took it to another level. What Beyonce did is genius. I mean, if Mariah released an album out of nowhere with all those videos ,I would buy it in a heartbeat. I do buy Beyonce's music, but the last one she released didn't interest me at all. With the buzz on this one, I might buy it. I wonder if more artists will do more things like this. I wonder if Mariah will do the same. But everyone else will be criticised for copying Beyonce.

Mariah's voice (40,151) by Manny from U.S.
With critical fans like the ones in this messageboard, Mariah does not need enemies. First of all, I'm not making excuse for her. There have been many singers that have problems with their voices (i.e. Julie Andrews, Whitney Houston, Steven Tyler, Shania Twain). Some people say she does not take care of her voice because she drinks. You guys make her out to be an alcoholic. Other people say she doesn't warm up or is more concerned about her looks. It can be other reasons we don't know about. There might me emotional reasons that might have to do with her voice's condition. When Shania Twain was on Oprah, she mentioned she was hiking through a hard part of her life and she couldn't sing. I just feel some fans are being really negative. She already said she does have nodules. Let's get more educated on what those are instead making Mariah out to be like a failure, mess, or has been. We should support her and be more positive.

The lighting tree performance (40,104) by Manny from U.S.
You can watch Mariah's performance below or on thenationaltree.org. You go to the tab that says "watch live". The high part did sound like she has vocal damage. I hope she does take care of herself and voice. The ability to hit the whistle notes came from getting those nodules. In essence she changed her anatomy to change the physiology of the cords. Her cords are sensitive and anything can affect it. It's a double edge sword. She acquired the angelic range but has the nodules. I would advise fans to look up more info on nodules. There are interesting videos of them on YouTube.

TAOLG (40,053) by Manny from U.S.
As much as we want TAOLG and all her singles to become hits, there are things that out of Mariah's control. The music business is sadly primarily about the cash, not the music. Record companies are looking to be lucrative. They do what is convenient for them. I feel IDJ is not supporting Mariah as before. That means no promotion. This is reminiscent of what she went through with Sony and Virgin. I'm pretty sure Mariah will speak of this when she has no ties with IDJ.

Bring it on home (39,949) by Manny from U.S.
I was watching random Mariah videos on YouTube. I came across "Bring it on home", the song Mariah wrote for Obama. I totally forgot about this song and I started wondering the story behind it. I remember Barbara Walters said this could be her next hit. From all these sporadic releases, it does make be wonder what is going on behind the scenes with IDJ. Do you guys remember if "Bring it on home" was supposed to be released?

Mariah on Jimmy (39,784) by Manny from U.S.
The segment were Mariah surprises fans was a sweet moment. Imagine listening to your idol singing an unheard song live. I keep watching the video of it. I honestly got chills at the end when she belts the song "baby, letting go". I am getting used to some of the lyrics. I do feel they are different than her usual work. I was also confused of the first lyrics, "I'm making a statement of my own opinion". Like someone said its redundant. I do like the old school sound of the music and arrangements (along with vinyl record effect background). I think it's great she is teasing us with ballads and not another predictable rap/pop song. I can't wait for the album and I'm happy she is doing records. Period.

Rodney Jerkins (39,515) by Manny from U.S.
Mariah mentioned she worked with Rodney before. I can't remember which song/ album. Can anyone help me out? What do you guys think of this collaboration? Mariah sounds passionate and ecstatic over the new song. I'm wondering if it'll be an uptempo or slower song.

Mariah featuring Roc (39,442) by Manny from U.S.
I also got the impression Roc will be "featured" in one of Mariah's song from her letter. That would be so cute. I wonder if Monroe will also be on it. Reminds me of Whitney Houston's "My Love is Your Love" featuring Bobbi Christina. She says "sing mommy" in the beginning and sings "clap un your hands" at the end. I rewind those parts because it's cute. I am glad Mariah is doing much better. I've hard dislocating a shoulder is hell. Mariah, I love you girl.

Mariah and family life (39,315) by Manny from U.S.
I just saw the pic of Mariah, Nick and the tots having Sunday dinner. Also the clip of Nick on Ellen. It makes me happy to see her enjoying her bundles of joy. It seemed that she always wanted a stable family as opposed to what she says about her childhood. For a while it seemed like she wouldn't have children. Now, she found a new level of happiness that fame and fortune cannot bring. It's the most precious thing.

Get well Mariah (38,799) by Manny from U.S.
Since Mariah is going through these injuries, we should do something to make her feel better. I am not good with the technical aspect of this. I am not sure how it would work but some kind of e-"get well card" from her fans. I remember signing this back in the days. Her injuries are very serious. The nerve damage is a delicate thing. Mariah, I love you and get well soon.

Monroe (38,770) by Manny from U.S.
I just saw the backstage footage of the performance for the New York Philharmonic. Mariah asks Monroe to "pose like mommy". Monroe does an impression of Mariah. I thought it was so funny and cute. I am happy Mariah is blessed with her twins. Several years back she sounded uncertain about having children, now she is enjoying her bundles of joy.

Nagging "fans" (38,737) by Manny from U.S.
With fans like these who needs enemies? If you don't like Mariah's performances because she does sound the same, then stop being a fan. I am tired of seeing people complain about what how she sings, how she drinks, how she does everything wrong. Simple solution: Stop following her career. Something is wrong with a person if they complain about the same thing constantly. Every singer has good and bad days. She has admitted about her vocal nodules. That's the explanation. Plus Mariah does not owe us anything. In my eyes, she has treated her fans like her own friends. Other celebrities are snobs. It's hard to take care of any voice. I am a teacher and I go hoarse from lecturing. What you guys want your money back? The record did not say: money back guaranteed.

Tommy Mottola (37,168) by Manny from U.S.
Have you guys heard the Tommy Mottola interview on Howard Stern? It is a rare outlook on Mariah's career and their marriage. They say there are 3 sides of the story: yours, theirs, and the real story. It is intersesting to hear Tommy's point of view. He sounds so sincere when he praises her. Also you can tell he is passive-aggressive about certain aspects about their marriage. You guys need to listen to it.
