I know. She mentioned in the interview the "not so great" comments Mariah made. She conveniently left out the part about stealing music. Convenient.

Did you really say "music sharing"? Sharing and stealing are two completely different things. I can't remember who it was, a producer/manager, but somebody came out later and admitted that Tommy took music for J-Lo's album.

Diplo did an interview for the magazine and he said, "We have someone like DJ Snake (of 'Turn Down for What'), who's selling more than Mariah Carey's album. He makes music in front of his computer. He's going triple platinum and Mariah Carey can't even sell 10,000 copies." Mariah has said in multiple interviews that she's not going to jump on the EDM bandwagon and it sounds to me like Diplo is bothered by that.

Re: Proper English (44,929)
by G.G. from USA

I don't know where you're from, but hood talk, slang and ebonics won't get you far in life. It's one thing to talk that way when you're playing around, but when that's the actual way someone speaks, it's sad. It shows they didn't take the time to learn and focused on be "cool" and "hood" instead of getting a proper education. Priorities. Knowledge is power. Lol education, being smart and speaking properly isn't a "white" thing. At least it shouldn't be. I never thought of it that way.

What? I can't. Speaking proper English has nothing to do with what color/ethnicity you are. I know plenty of people, who aren't white, that speak perfect English. It has more to do with education and being articulate than it does the color of someone's skin. Speaking slang all the time doesn't get you very far in life. Fact.

Interview (44,905)
by G.G. from USA
| |
|
|
J-Lo did an interview with The Breakfast Club this morning and she said. "We had the time where we would drop the thing and it would go straight to #1 and the album would go to #1 and we did that two, three times, four times over. She (Mariah) probably did it more times than I did." Lol there's no probably (all caps) about it. You tried it with that comment. She really thinks she's in the same lane as Mariah. The delusion is very real.

Comparisons (44,870)
by G.G. from USA
| |

There is no way to accurately compare Mariah to that other woman. Mariah is a juicy, nutritious and delicious apple. That other chick is an unedible, rancid orange with no nutritional value. That other chick has always been Madonna's and Janet Jackson's lesser.

If you don't like a post, stop reading. It's as simple as that. I stopped reading your post halfway through because I didn't like where it was going and have heard all that noise before. It's a pretty simple thing to do actually, just choose to stop reading. As far as negativity goes, your message was edited quite a bit by the webmaster, so it must not have all been sunshine and roses.

Lyrics from album (44,787)

When Mariah said "I will release the lyrics when I can do them the way I want to do them," I was hoping she would do lyric videos for each song. That would be so cool in my opinion.

I was in no way implying that Mariah do anything like that person you mentioned in your post. I won't even type her name. Yuck. Lol. My point is basically that MC needs some mainstream pop songs to attract listeners (new and old) to her new albums. R&B albums are not selling well that's just a fact. I understand that Mariah likes R&B and that's what she wants to do. Fine. But, entice the listeners with a mainstream "pop" song or two and hook them with your songwriting abilities/R&B songs.

How to solve the Mariah Carey problem from Billboard (44,733)
by G.G. from USA
| |
|
|
I really hope MC reads that article. I said from the beginning of all this mess that she should do some pop records to get people interested and then have the rest of the album be R&B (what she likes to do). She needs to collaborate with the "in" producers and do some features on some pop songs to reacquaint the younger audience with her and who she is. I see Jermaine does dj shows with David Guetta and people like that all the time, so the connections are already there. There are plenty of singers who've done songs they didn't really like, and they turned out to be huge hits. Tina Turner hated, " What's Love Got To Do With It", and it was huge for her. If MC wants to sell records again, she needs to be open to new things and new formulas. Here's hoping.

Jermaine interview and Twitter (44,725)
by G.G. from USA
| |
|
|
Jermaine's interview with the Breakfast Club here. Around the 36:00 mark he talks about Mariah's album sales. He also posted on Twitter, June 11th that he's "tired of caring about other people's *** more than they do". Reading between the lines and my opinion is that he's not liking the fact that Mariah isn't promoting this album either.

"Roe's hair has been hurting a lot, so Mariah needs to promote her Butterfly beverage (only for women obviously) to be able to take care of medical bills." What? What does that mean and where did you read that?

Jermaine's letter to the lambs: "You know I want to go down as one of the greatest producers of all times." That's great Jermaine, but a manger and a producer are two very different things. Stick to producing.

Re: Mariah as a family member (44,628)
by G.G. from USA
| |
|
|
If Mariah were my family member, I would sit her down and be real with her. I would tell her the truth, not just what she wanted to hear. I would tell her to get her promo game and her live performances together. I would tell her to get a stylist and choreographer immediately and to stop with the unrelatable diva attitude, rambling interviews and no more "dahlings". It's no longer funny or cute. I would tell her that all this mess is tarnishing her image and her brand and that to be on top again she needs a complete image overhaul. Sometimes the truth hurts, but we can all grow from the truth if we're willing to listen.

Butterfly beverage (44,626)
by G.G. from USA
| |
|
|
"By holding a smartphone up to the bottle, fans will be able to access an entertainment network curated by Mariah. Fans who purchase the Gatorade-like beverage will be taken to Mimi-land or her social network that is filled with galleries, videos, and exclusive content." I'm so confused. Isn't that what Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and MariahCarey.com are for? Who other than die hard fans are going to want to do this? I'm so confused by the promo ideas that Mariah is coming up with.

Streaming and sales (44,592)
by G.G. from USA
| |
|
|
I think that the free album streaming for an entire week before the album was available for purchase was a bad idea. I bought mine, but as someone else said, why buy it when you can get it for free? There are a lot of people out there that won't buy it if they can just get a free copy online. I still can't believe that with all the streaming combined with actual sales that the album only sold 57k.

Success has many fathers, failure is an orphan (44,565)

I blame Mariah, Jermaine and Def Jam for the commercial failure of this album. But, since Mariah's name is on it, the general public will lay all the blame on her.

Opinions (44,564)
by G.G. from USA
| |
|
|
It always makes me laugh when I see people on here telling others what they should or shouldn't say. If Mariah doesn't care about sales anymore, then she's in the wrong business. If you have too many albums that sell as poorly as this one, your label will drop you. Period. She obviously cares about sales and charts, otherwise she wouldn't insist on being introduced as the best selling female artist and having 18 #1 singles. MIAMTEC has sold 15,000 copies in its second week. That's a 70%-80% drop.

Next single (44,492)
by G.G. from USA

I can't wait for YDKWTD to be released as a single. I think it will do very well. I wish MC and the label would release Make It Look Good as a single too. It would be nice to see MC and Stevie Wonder do a video together. I think MILG would do well on the adult contemporary charts.

Home concert (44,426)
by G.G. from USA
| |
|
|
She had the performance at her home because it is a controlled environment. That way there wouldn't be any mess ups televised to the general public. Like when she got caught lip synching on the Today show. Notice that none of the "audience members" have talked about being there on Twitter or anywhere else. It was a very small audience as we could see. Paid actors perhaps? That might be why they haven't talked about the concert at her home.

Re Marissa (44,406)
by G.G. from USA
| |
|
|
Thank you. I feel the exact same way. Mariah stands there or lays there posing like a statue and lip synchs. At least try and move around some. I liked the YDKWTD performance from the Today show. She actually moved and got into the song. Like I said, I don't mind lip synching if it's believable. As much as Mariah is in the studio, she could and should record several versions of each song, that way when she does lip synch shows, they don't sound exactly like the album version.
