It's a different time and it has been since 2008. It is the nature of the industry. Deals almost have to be made to get airplay, especially where R&B is concerned and this has been going on for the last 5 plus years now. And deals in general are not uncommon. Miguel's Adorn is a much better song than Beautiful, yet it didn't chart as well as Beautiful has even at this point. (Wednesday 15 May 2013; 23:46)

Nikki (37,774) by RibbonB from USA You are making an assumption that either Randy or Nick talked MC into taking the Idol job. If anyone, it was Randy, her then manager, old time friend, etc. In fact Nick was pretty much against the Idol job. Mariah knows what she is doing and she holds herself accountable for her decisions, whether she partners with others or not. All that numerology stuff is hocus pocus anyway. Beautiful (37,730) by RibbonB from USA Beautiful is a nice song. I only listened once and got a pretty good vibe. I can't wait to really let it sink in. I do wish that MC was more of the focus of the song. I had a good feeling that Miguel would inject just the right kind of energy for today in the song-writing and that seems to have happened. She would not show any other judge that level of disrespect, certainly not as consistently as she has MC. That's an indication of her bitterness and insecurity. Licia/Idol crap (37,671) by RibbonB from USA Licia, Roc definitely needed his binky during the ceremony. Lol it was obviously late and a lot to deal with. I thought it was so funny when Roc started acting up that Nick or Mariah took Roe's binking and put it in his mouth. They are only two and surely endured a lot up late celebrating, so a pacifier probably still calms and soothes them at this stage. Their vow renewal ceremony looked beautiful and over the top. Congrats to them for having fun and celebrating life and love. Now as for Nicki and her renewed Idol crap. She needs to let it go and grow the hell up. She is the sad pathetic, pressed individual. To restart old drama again is pretty pathetic. Now Harry Connick and Randy, two talented musicians, is good TV. Nicki commenting is bull crap, that is why she stays pressed and combative with the other female judge. The one true legend on the panel. The combative strategy was a flop and just ignorant for idol to encourage or allow and for it to reignite this late in the season is desperate. It was great to see Mariah's mother at the show last night, that's the one positive of the night. Flop idol 2013, Nicki edition. (Friday 3 May 2013; 0:35)

Idol (37,641) by RibbonB from USA Yes, MC is way too good for this show. I do believe she went on there with good intentions of helping the contestants, but that Idol producers played her and ultimately played themselves. Idol producers screwed up royally hiring Nicki and for allowing mess to brew for weeks and months. It's a perfect time for MC to be done with that show, her beautiful babies are two, she might have time to tour and take them along, before they go off to school. Now she can move on with her great life. As that Showbiz 411 guy said, Mariah will be around long after the last Idol champion is selected. Pow. (Saturday 27 April 2013; 22:46)

Anywho, I stated my reasons why very clearly. I hope whatever she releases is a great song, but I would prefer if it's just her singing it. Lol. Why duets are a bad idea now (37,603) by RibbonB from USA I love MC and I really like Miguel, but an MC duet with anyone is a bad idea, especially as a lead single. Mariah hasn't had a strong solo single since Touch My Body and I believe that is where her strength will lie. She has had recent duets or collabs with a lot of newer artists and if anyone is helped by those releases, it's the other artist. I will go back as far as Memoirs and the infamous non release of Angel's Advocate duets/remixes. They tried it with Up Out My Face ft. clown Nicki, then the leak of Inseperable with Trey Songz. Up Out, barely made waves and only for the video. Then she was preggo and didn't get to promote When Christmas Comes first time around, but she did release a duet version the next year with John Legend, another bleep on the radar. She really tried it re-releasing AIWFC with Beiber, yet another bleep. I have no idea why she even recorded with Uncle Murda or even Rick Ross and Meek Mill. If she hadn't made all of those faux pas, I might welcome a duet with Miguel or Maxwell, but I detect another wrong move if a duet is in the works right now. The voice is needed right now in a big way, not with what I will call, distractions. When was the last time a duet was really successful? They are rare these days. Mariah needs an infustion of great songwriting, new energy indeed, but no duets. (Wednesday 24 April 2013; 0:40)

Randy/Poets/songwriters (37,585) by RibbonB from USA Most poets are good with words, the good ones are anyway. The best songwriters are as well, but that doesn't mean their speaking styles are going to be for everyone. One thing does not guarantee the other. People crack me up being pissed off because someone else doesn't speak or act the way they think they should or "better" than someone else. It's hilarious how people are getting so bent out of shape, meanwhile MC is going on with her life. Oh and sorry, I don't see why anyone is so impressed by emblazened or incessantly. But I rather hear MC speak than hear the clown say honey boo boo child in her fake accents over and over again. Lol. (Thursday 18 April 2013; 1:34)

Randy (37,584) by RibbonB from USA Uhm, I did say "Many people allegedly jumped shimp." You may not be one, but they did go somewhere. Perhaps to the wack the voice. Lol. Nicki is still the reason for this Idol floppage, IMO. Idol producers screwed up a divine opportunity for a new era, by muddling the whole thing up with Nicki Minaj and her unprofessional antics in particular and just by adding a fourth judge in general. Votes and twitter followers (37,573) by RibbonB from USA These numbers don't translate into actual sales. Lol. Idol votes were over 60 million during the Fantasia era, which was the last time I cared about that show before Mariah came on board. And many of these celebs with so called millions of twitter followers have been proven to have millions of fake or bought followers. Besides lots of people may watch and follow, but very few are buying these days and that is generally accross the board. There are always a few anomalies. I think Mariah is sticking to what she's been doing for the past several years, doing the music that is within her and letting the chips fall where they may. Idol was a decent way for her to make some money, stay closer to home with her toddlers and work on her music at the same time. Idol producers and Nicki are to blame for this Idol flop. I watch the show because of Mariah and in spite of Nicki and many die hard fans allegedly jumped ship the minute Idol signed Nicki to the show. (Wednesday 17 April 2013; 3:17)

Miguel, Nicki has no class (37,567) by RibbonB from USA Well, I've been a strong advocate for Miguel for months on this message board. I do hope he writes a song with Mariah, but I definitely hope they do not sing together. I'm so sick of Mariah and her duets and collabos. After waiting and hoping Miguel would appear on SNL, I was actually disappointed. I love that he performs different arrangements of Adorn when he performs it, but I hated that rendition. I am very glad that he is finally getting the mass attention that he deserves, but that rendition was very rock focused, rather R&B focus, which caught my attention and grabbed my gratitude. Lol I am glad Mariah is considering working with him. My heading on Nicki says it all in my opinion. She over reached and now she's trying to pull it back. And ratings on that show have never been lower. I hope MC has humongous sales, but I doubt Idol will help. (Tuesday 16 April 2013; 1:01)

It's silly for anyone to think she should act like another judge. Makes no more sense than thinking a singer will act or sing like another being judged on the show. Lee/Nicki is an idiot (37,536) by RibbonB from USA By now all of the final contestants can sing, so it is just a matter of are they singing a song that is the correct vehicle for their strengths or did they pick one that they are not quite ready for or just not quite suited to. There really isn't much to say to them at this point and the judges only trump card is the save, which that idiot Nicki claims she won't use. Now that is the most useless person on the panel. Besides, Mariah was not covered at all in the pics posting with Nick in bunny ears. It's amazing how people write fiction from one picture, totally ignoring other pictures taken around the same time. These folks know if they shade a certain artist, they are going to attract attention and many of them do it on purpose. I don't attack, but I do laugh at funny mess. Bottom line is people are always going to be dissatisfied in some way or another, but the blame game is very tired, I agree. What will Nicki do? (37,388) by RibbonB from USA Lol a friend posed this question. What will Nicki do after idol? Lol In all honesty Idol should have ended a couple of years ago. Hiring Mariah would have been a good way to end the show after this year. I actually hope Mariah leaves, in fact I wish she hadn't taken the job, but it was cool before the brought in the clown. But after Idol, Mariah will still be the great Mariah Carey. Nicki will be long past her 15 minutes. I only watch Idol because MC is on it, but I disagree with that previous noted article, that says that these shows are all about the judges. Seriously, if the singers suck, then the show sucks. Idol is known for keeping silly types on for so called entertainment. Some of it is funny like Zoanette, or clownish like Nicki, but none of that is why I actually watch singing competitions. Judges BS (37,387) by RibbonB from USA The author of that article is obviously a clown Minaj fan, saying nothing that her fans haven't already said. But they immediately contradict themselves, first admitting there is the nice one, the tell it like it is one and the icon. Well Mariah is the icon. She made it clear from the beginning that she was there to mentor. The author of the article is as rude and dismissive of Mariah as Minaj is. Mariah is showing that she has risen above all the BS, despite all the continued provocation. If people like Nicki's self absorbed style, whatever, but so far the ratings have been down from last year's. If Idol wanted Nicki they should have hired her instead of courting Mariah all those months only to try to use her. Welp, who's using whom? Idol is showing their desperation in hiring Nicki and she show's desperation of a non-singer to be relevant on a singing show. (Tuesday 12 March 2013; 22:57)
