About RibbonB from USA: I love Mariah's Music.

Re: Somewhat Loved (98,030) (98,035) by RibbonB from USA
Parts of it do sound good.

Re: Dionne Warwick (98,029) (98,034) by RibbonB from USA
She responded about who she was asked about, Barbra wasn't mentioned. He asked her about a few 90s singers. It's a loaded question especially when no one knows what these divas will day about another singer.

The Diane Warren comment was responding to Bill. Also, Aretha said Whitney was a true talent during the same interview where she shades Taylor. Mariah wasn't mentioned.

Re: Dionne Warwick (98,009) (98,017) by RibbonB from USA
This was discussed weeks ago here. Perhaps she really did want to think on it. She said the people ultimately decide who is an icon. It's such a subjective term. Aretha has said nice things about Mariah and her songwriting, but if she were asked the same question about Mimi, she might've said, "nice gowns", the way she did about Taylor Swift. A lot of these older, true singing legends, don't have the same high regard for Mimi, like some lambs seem to assume they do, or should.

You mean Diane Warren right?

Re: Xscape versus SWV (97,962) (97,965) by RibbonB from USA
Do you think TI and Tiny will "XScape" their legal woes? Some of these cases are strange and random.

Aloe Blac.

Re: Brandy collab / Skrillex (97,959) (97,960) by RibbonB from USA
Just Mimi singing a strong song with a cool melody with an awesome pianist, John Batiste comes to mind. Even better, if she would dare do an orchestral version of one of her songs. I saw also Blac on the Masked singer and he is so versatile and talented, I can see a great duet with he and Mariah, maybe a Jazz duet. I would really just like to hear Mimi singing solo in good form.

That sounds interesting.

Oh Edward, no one is intimidated by all that bloviating. But while he is on his third or fourth banishment, many of us have shunned him long ago as a time waster and race baiter. Shrug.

Happy Birthday Roc and Roe (97,918) by RibbonB from USA
Wow, ten years. They have shared many photo moments since Corona kicked in. I can't wait to see them develop into this teenage selves. I hope they stay grounded, healthy and happy.

Yes, absolutely hilarious. It's awesome that she gets it and is a fan of the parody. Maybe they will poke fun at this moment in an upcoming installment. The jokes will write themselves. I love when people tweet her, "drag me queen", it's hilarious.

Re: WIB played on mainstream radio, success (97,894) (97,895) by RibbonB from USA
That is pretty good, because I rarely hear Busta songs on the radio. I just saw the video. It's odd, but at least they seemed like they had fun at the end. Mimi did her usual poses. I'm glad he trimmed down a bit because he had really been hating out of his leather the past decade or so.

Re: Dionne Warwick (97,892) (97,893) by RibbonB from USA
Dionne also made clear in a subsequent video that she wasn't shading any of the amazing ladies that she was asked about. It's silly how quickly fan bases start dragging and being petty. I think it's cool and educational when true veterans, legends even, speak their minds. Even Mimi has a right to express her own opinions as she did in her memoir.

Re: Dionne Warwick (97,891) (97,892) by RibbonB from USA
She gave her honest, thoughtful, opinion. she wasn't even being mean. Lots of people would have to "think about that". Whether or not someone is iconic, is totally subjective. I think a lot of her peers and other legends would have to ponder that as well.

Humpty Hump (97,881) by RibbonB from USA
Aw, RIP Shock G. You gotta love Digital Underground and what a unique frontman he was. Such a seeming goof ball, but well respected as a genius and innovator. I guess Swizz could play him in the biopic, but aid rather Rene Jean from Bridgerton have the honor.

Grammy tie (97,727) by RibbonB from USA
So I was listening to one of my fave 90's ballads How Can I Ease the Pain, by the great Lisa Fisher, and found this old gem. In one of the relatively few Grammy ties, this world famous background singer won a Grammy non a tie with Patti Labelle. Look at the iconic lineup, Gladys, Martha, Patti and the newbies, or "newerbies". Imagine if Mimi were in that lineup. The quality and range of nominees from then to now are vastly different. How iconic hat Lisa a Fisher also sang background vocals on Patti's co-winning song Burning. How Can I Ease the Pain is the most timeless and beautiful of all those nominated songs in that category, IMO.

Article: Who will play Mariah Carey in Luis Miguel, La Serie? (97,726) by RibbonB from USA
So finally you Luismi lovers get to see your fave romance depicted on the television. I caught some of the first season and it was boring, sanitized and stil trashy. Sounds like they're going to present them as a fairy tale. I wonder who will play Eric Benet.

Re: Defamation (97,616) (97,619) by RibbonB from USA
Perhaps her political opinion this time around is "anybody but dumb assed Donald", the epitome of a racist, hateful, narcissistic, white nationalistic, grifter. He also incited an insurrection based on lies.

Article: Mariah's brother hits her with defamation suit for memoir (97,541) by RibbonB from USA
Wow Morgan and Allison are hilarious. They defamed her for years with reckless abandon and have the nerve to continue with their extortion attempts. I hope they get big fat zero each. It's more than either e deserves.

Re: Mariah Carey's sister sues over tell-all memoir (97,276) (97,284) by RibbonB from USA
Alison is always out for the money grab. Obviously Pat has none if her own monies. Who knows what happened to Allison's suit of the mom. That whole family is one cluster cluck of lawsuits. Shame. The finale would be if the mom sues Mimi. Crazy world, where Kobe's mother in law is suing her own daughter. Greed, plain and simple.
