Voice therapists (97,860) by Terna from Nigeria
They have exercises that work, has she even tried this as an option? With Covid-19 and the lockdown, we noticed her voice get reasonably better, but far from what we know she's capable of. I always wonder if she even has a vocal coach, I doubt it. There are some really good ones out there and if done right, those exercises really work. Then there's the bubbly.

Re: Breakdown ad libs (97,835) (97,841) by Terna from Nigeria
You just might be right on this one. I went and played it back and I hear it now, and yes its a little bit "noisy" so to speak at that section and may even have a bad edit of her vocals, almost muffled. But I hear it now, and I've played breakdown for years. Lol. Gee thanks. This is one of the cool things with her recordings, you keep hearing it and then one day you listen and then get it, and then your perception changes.

Breakdown ad libs (97,832) by Terna from Nigeria
Since we're arguing about Mariah's enunciation, I always wondered what she was saying in "Breakdown" at the ad libs part - "But in reality I'm, I'm slowly losing my mind", "How do I feel", "What...". Most people always go what's she saying there. Mariah if you read this might as well answer it yourself. Hehe.

Re: Rumours (97,570) (97,579) by Terna from Nigeria
Except Jermaine had nothing to do with that song's production.

Rumours (97,569) by Terna from Nigeria
Could there be any truth to this? I think there's an element of truth to it seeing as these are the same co-writers listed on "Where are You Christmas", another song we know she recorded but could not release.

Re: Mimi's Late Night Valentine's Mix (97,349) (97,367) by Terna from Nigeria
Exactly, it's giving me this vintage 70's soul sound like she did at the BET awards performance with the white dress, but taking it up a notch, incorporating contemporary elements like that drum machine that goes hard on the chugging breakdown mid song. Just well put together and executed. Someone on twitter was like "her new era is coming". Lol.

Mimi's Late Night Valentine's Mix (97,348) by Terna from Nigeria
I've never clicked so fast and boy was I blown away, oh Mariah. When that chorus hit, I hit thumbs up so quick. Loving that dark hair color, I hope she sticks to it. She looks good too. Someone's been hitting that treadmill.

Re: Cool On You (97,309) (97,332) by Terna from Nigeria
"Cool on you" for me too was an instant favorite sparse production and all. While on the other hand, I skipped "One Night" mid song with the very first listen. I haven't played it ever since either. Haha.

Re: TEOM appreciation post (97,243) (97,246) by Terna from Nigeria
"The Emancipation of Mimi" era is Mariah Carey's perfect era. Everything went as planned or even better, from the single choices to the live performances - some of her best live vocals were from this era, she had something to prove that she was far from over and boy did it show. I believe this was the album that finally gave Mariah her respect and moved her from icon to legendary status in the industry. I can honestly say it is the biggest comeback ever in the music industry until date. I am loving today's MC 30 as this is easily my best Mariah era, and the one I cherish the most. That record has never left my playlist and it never will. Happy new year guys.

FKA Twigs (97,084) by Terna from Nigeria
I was going through a playlist and her song titled "Two Weeks" came on, I always thought she's evidently mimicking Mariah Carey's signature vocal style a little bit, it's a beautiful song and vocal performance and she nails the girly falsettos well for the most part, but the thing is it comes across as incomplete and unsatisfying because it lacks that explosive, powerhouse vocal climax you're expecting but never shows up and this song is that type of song. This is one of Mariah's strengths - her killer adlibs, when it's time to tear up a song vocally no one does it quite like Mariah. I think Mariah should redo this song and tear it up.

Re: Ryan and Kelly show, thank you, next (97,026) (97,028) by Terna from Nigeria
I don't agree at all with your theory. There is a conscious effort by the music industry to make sure Mariah does not tie that Beatles record for 20 Hot 100 #1 singles, talk less of breaking it but we all know for sure she's gonna do just that. If she isn't having a non-Christmas hit song it is mainly as a result of this, or she isn't looking to. Secondly out of all her peers Madonna, Celine, Mary J. Blige, I would take where Mariah is any day in terms of where their careers are currently. What she lacks in touring, ticket sales and those deceptive bundles to sell new albums, she more than makes up for from having 19 number one singles, a massive body of work that keeps on giving and owning her own masters then there's "All I Want For Christmas is you" - she isn't exerting herself going on tour after tour yet smiling to the bank yearly.

Here Comes Santa Claus (97,003) by Terna from Nigeria
I kind of like the new version better than the 2010 one. Production wise it's definitely better and [Snoop] brings his flavor making [magic] with Mariah's re-recorded vocals which sound fuller. Plus for the most part Jermaine is kept on mute.

RIAA Diamond certifications (96,962) by Terna from Nigeria
This is crazy in a good way. Haha. In no time Mariah is actually gonna have 4 diamond albums. Her debut album is so close to that diamond status and deservedly so and now "Merry Christmas" as well, it may even reach it before the debut.

UK No 1 spot (96,916) by Terna from Nigeria
I guess this really is a magical Christmas after all, Congratulations Mariah Carey. I laughed out loud when I saw the headlines, I believe she's broken a spell there now she'll hit number one more often there.

High note harmonies (96,833) by Terna from Nigeria
Sounds kinda catchy doesn't it? Lol. Anyways, this new version of "Oh Santa" has become my favorite and that's saying a lot because I love (all caps) the original version from 2010. The new solo high note run Mariah does on this version is just sheer power, and those harmonies with Ariana just wow. Who is singing what on that harmonized section though they sound so identical.

Oh Santa (96,797) by Terna from Nigeria
Boy, am I pleasantly surprised. It wasn't Mariah's 2010 vocals and she actually re-recorded the song with Ariana and Jennifer and it sounds good. Well thought out who sings what and it didn't come across as "crowded". And those harmonies in the whistle register, just glorious. It came out better than I imagined. Now the holiday festivities can begin. Happy holidays.

Re: That Mariah power (96,734) (96,741) by Terna from Nigeria
Exactly, she kinda made creating and releasing Christmas music cool and not something affiliated with being a seasoned act. Lol. So many career firsts.

That Mariah power (96,733) by Terna from Nigeria
Often imitated, never duplicated. [It's] funny how suddenly every artist is having some sort of Christmas single release this season from Kelly Clarkson releasing her own song that shares the same title literally as "All I Want For Christmas is You" (yeah I'm not kidding lol) to Tinashe, Jordin Sparks and even to Snoop Dogg. Everyone wants to make bank at Christmas time just like Mariah Carey. Too bad she's got a 26 year head start on them.

Plot twist (96,732) by Terna from Nigeria
Maybe the upcoming song just has the same title as "O Santa" and could just be an entirely new song. Too far fetched? Hehe.
