M.J. Cole remixes new Mariah Carey single
M.J. Cole has remixed the new Mariah Carey single, Loverboy. Cole has also started writing material for future collaborations with Tom Jones. His remix of Bran Van 3000's Astounded, featuring Curtis Mayfield, is out on June 4.
Carey's Loverboy, featuring the M J Cole remix, is released on July 16, with an album due to follow on August 20. Cole, speaking ahead of his two appearances at the Heineken Green Energy Festival in Cork and Galway this Irish Bank Holiday Weekend, told the mcd.ie website: "They just kinda phoned up on the Wednesday and on Friday and I was on the plane going to Los Angeles. They've got probably one of the most famous studios in the world. The Record Plant - Michael Jackson has just recorded half of his album there and all those top R 'n' B bods record all their stuff over there. So I had three days in there with Mariah Carey hanging around which was pretty cool. I couldn't even have a cassette in the studio I was working in to listen to. I had to go into the studio where Mariah was working, listen to it with her twice. And that was it!" (Ananova)
