Mariah rises again

Mariah may be down, but she's not out! Sure, after some divas got $28 million to walk away from a cushy gig at EMI, they may think it's time to retire until VH1 wants them for a Divas Live Reunion. But not Miss Carey...

According to Reuters, Carey has been talking up potential deals with several major labels, including Island Def Jam, RCA and Elektra. They like that she puts the d (for dizzy) in diva. They are hoping to cash in on the big flameout with EMI.

Industry insiders figure her next deal will be worth far less than her estimated $80 million to $100 million EMI originally agreed to pay her, only to find her new album, Glitter and a film by the same name bomb.
