Will Mariah make it through rain?

Mariah Carey's new CD "Charmbracelet" has led listeners to believe that she has decided to return to her musical roots. Carey grew into a diva with her popular ballads and now she has triumphantly regained her title. If you appreciate love songs then this is what you have been waiting for. Since the bomb of Carey's movie "Glitter" and the soundtrack of the same name, people have been waiting in anticipation for her next move. With a new record label contract and CD, Carey is on her way to the top, beginning with her hit single, "Through the Rain".

Carey has a song with a sample from the well-known song "Oh Boy" by Cam'ron that was a big hit in 2002; he also appears on the track. This collaboration adds hip-hop flavor to this single and is sure to become a radio hit. In addition, the tracks "You Got Me" and "Irresistible" feature rappers Jay-Z and Ice Cube who make these songs stand out with good beats among the many ballads. The rough vocals of the rappers are a good contrast to Mariah's sweet, sexy voice.

The songs "Through the Rain", "Yours", "I Only Wanted", "My Saving Grace" and "Brinin' on the Heartbreak" let Carey show off her most famous vocal talents. Carey still uses her full vibrant voice along with a low whisper to show that she can transition from R&B to hip-hop. One song that catches attention is the song "Bringin' on the Heartbreak", which is a remake of the original song by the UK metal band Def Leopard. The song "Clown" is said to be about a certain popular rapper named Eminem, but these are just rumors. It could certainly be interpreted that the song is about a relationship they may have had.

"Charmbracelet" sounds very similar to her previous CDs and looks as if Carey knows where she gained her fame. Her songs range from love, to struggles, heartaches and even faith. Mariah Carey may take her diva throne back.
