Billboard early reports

Mariah ends the year with a bang as "The Emancipation of Mimi" officially becomes the biggest selling album of 2005. The album sold approximitely 4.88 million copies in the US, outselling 50 Cent's "The Massacre", which sold 4.83 million. Both albums were re-released a couple of months after the original release dates.

This week, the Ultra Platinum Edition of TEOM, sold another 290,000 copies and is up to #6 on Billboard 200. Also, "Don't forget about us" is locked for a second week atop the Billboard Hot 100 as it stays #1 in the Airplay Charts with 160 million impressions (Mediabase) and #2 on the Digital Track Sales with 41,000 downloads of the single and its remixes.

Meanwhile, "All I want for Christmas is you" loses steam as it lost more than six million airplay impressions in 24 hours. This is because the Christmas season has ended and all Christmas songs are slowly slipping out of the radar yet again.
