Tunisia: Mariah Carey embarks on her Adventures Of Mimi

American diva Mariah Carey arrived in Tunis Wednesday night (19th July). She will be celebrating two concerts in Tunis, on Satuday 22nd an Monday 24th. After two stopovers respectively in Frankfurt and in Saint Tropez, Mariah Carey arrived at Tunis Carthage international airport.

Before her two performances at the El Menzah Olympic Stadium on July 22 and 24 the American star was resting at the Hammamet sea side resort, 60 kilometres from the capital. Mariah Carey is accompanied by a crew of 50 people including her hairdresser, personal masseur, bodyguards, the members of her orchestra and technicians. It will be the first time she performs in Tunisia and in Africa. Her "Adventures of Mimi" comeback tour which sets off in Tunisia, will then continue with Mariah Carey's American tour. It is also the first time in three years that the star will perform live on stage.

The El Menzah Olympic Stadium which has undergone a substantial facelift, is now set to welcome such a momentous event. A stage of 70 meters long, forty meters high and 28 meters deep has been set up for the two concerts. Five jumbo screens have also been set up next to the stage and one mobile screen will be placed in the middle, moreover 200 spotlights and a number of sound boosters have also been installed.

With the stage being set, Carey's fans are impatiently awaiting the moment their star will appear on the scene, fulfilling their dreams and filling the magic Tunis summer nights with her melodies.

Mariah Carey is enjoying one of the most successful years of her career. Her album "The Emancipation Of Mimi" generated three Grammy awards . As the biggest-selling album of 2005, it has sold over 9 million units worldwide to date. Mariah Carey's "Adventures of Mimi" Tunisian concerts have already triggered an onslaught of telephone calls from eager fans hoping to see and listen to their idol. The American pop diva has already sold some 170 million albums in the world and is currently one of the world's most popular singers after Elvis Presley and the Beatles.
