Will the Grammys "snub" Mariah again?

Mariah has never been known as a Grammy darling. In her entire career, Mariah has had more Grammy losses than wins. With more than 30 Grammy nominations since she came out in 1990, Mariah has only been able to take home a total of five - two in 1991 for Best Pop Female Vocal Performace ("Vision of love") and Best New Artist; and three earlier this year for Best R&B Song and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance ("We belong together") and Best R&B Contemporary Album ("The Emancipation of Mimi").

With so much nominations and few wins, the media and public begun speculating about the awards show "snubbing" Mariah. In 1996 when Mariah was nominated for six Grammy's including Best Pop Female Vocal Performance ("Fantasy") and Album of the Year ("Daydream"), Mariah went home emptyhanded. Before that, she also lost a nomination in 1992 for Best Pop Vocal Performace ("Emotions") and later on Best Collaboration ("Thank God I found you") in 2000, among others.

In next year's 49th Annual Grammy Awards, Mariah will again be competing for two awards - Best Female R&B Vocal Performance and Best R&B Song ("Don't forget about us"). Yes, Mariah is facing tough competition from Mary J. Blige and Beyonce in both awards, but is in any way much deserving of the aforementioned accolades than anyone else. Question now is, will the Grammys "snub" Mariah again?
