Sources say the chosen ballad is Mariah Carey's When You Believe, recorded with Whitney Houston. But furious contestants think Same Difference's mentor Cowell is favouring them.
An insider said: "It could be sung by a soloist, but it will sound much better with two. People are sniping that Simon has influenced the song choice in his role as the show's executive producer." The winner's song is recorded by all finalists so it can be rushed out. A show spokeswoman said no decision had been made. (The Sun)
