Jermaine Dupri, B. Cox & Randy Jackson talk new album

Mariah Carey, Jermaine Dupri, Bryan-Michael Cox and Randy Jackson held a Ustream session last evening. The group was so hyped about a song on which they were finishing for Carey's new studio album that they had to share the moment with her fans. According to Jackson, there are several other collaborators on the project as well as a new concept that they cannot yet reveal.

Carey: "The song we did tonight, I don't want to go into it because I don't want anybody else to know about it until it's done. But I think it's going to make you happy because it already is making me happy." Jackson: "We gonna be making history up in here on the album. Me, B.Cox, Jermaine, Mariah, of course. It's gonna be on Mariah's album. And several people we won't mention yet and a concept we can't discuss."

Live instruments? Secret concept? Making history? It looks like Carey has finally recaptured the fire that she had with "The Emancipation of Mimi". Hopefully this record will feature the diva going to new heights lyrically, musically and vocally as she has been known to do when working with a right mix of collaborators. There remains no word as to when the album will be released but with the strong material that Carey's team seems to be creating, the excitement is definitely building. Get it MC!
