Re: Edub / Coco / Luis C (20,376) by Special K from California

Hey Edub, I tried e-mailing but your e-mail did not work. You can e-mail me at specialksk@hotmail.com. Coco, you nailed it on your last post. To my utter shock my own brother was actually defending Nick Cannon and felt he was a good catch for Mariah. My bro said Nick Cannon is corny, but he is an alright dude that is successful and positive. He hasn't fathered any children out of wedlock and he doesn't walk around with his pants sagging off of his butt. My bro also talked about how Nick isn't thuggin, doesn't say the "N" word, is politically active, and actually made over 20 million dollars last year because he writes and executively produces alot of the projects that he is in. I was shocked to hear that coming out of my brothers' mouth but he was real serious. Let's face it, Mariah is just as corny and cheesy as Nick so I'm sure they will have lots of fun together. Luis C, my brotha from another mother, how are you doing? Good I hope. Luis baby, I don't understand how in the world you still don't believe that Mariah is married? Didn't you see the crazy, stupid, wedding bands that her and Nick were wearing at the Times Gala shig dig?

Just a thought (20,375) by Aron from the USA

My mind says the wedding is awesome. It's going to extend the impact of the new E=MC2. But the time MC starts promoting again (next Tuesday on Ellen), Madonna's album will hopefully be in the garbage. This is awesome. Go MC.

May-December affair (20,374) by Ronald from the Philippines

Just want to say when Mariah turns 50, Nick will just be 38. Hope Nick does not cheat on Mariah as time goes by because lambs will be so angry at him and I hope Mariah will just shake him off if this happens.

Yeah Edub, are you EricaSharlette in disguise? You definitely sound like her. Btw, if you're not her, I just wanna say that I terribly miss EricaSharlette.

Bye Bye video photos (20,372) by Bashful from the Philippines

Ok, someone here thought that Dionne Warwick was featured twice in the Bye Bye video. That's not Dionne, that was Mariah's relative. Watch the Barbara Walters special 2006, Mariah showed Barbara some of her family photos in the butterfly room where her butterfly fireplace is.

Thinking out loud (20,371) by Luis C from the USA

I have to confess that I still don't believe the wedding situation. If it is in fact true, I wish Mariah the best, but something isn't right to me. I listen to E=MC2 and she sings "still a little protective of the people that I let inside (...) and I still live with the side effects" and then I read that she started dating someone in late March and in early May she gets married and lives happily ever after. If I hadn't seen those pictures, I'd agree that this is some sort of a publicity stunt that would take our attention out of other things (I have a few ideas but that's too conspiracy theory) but if this is true, then I feel happy for Mariah. The men that she has dated in the past have been pricks and if she indeed found someone true to what she's looking for, good for her. I'm looking forward to her Ellen appearance and then I'll believe everything. I'm loving the new album by the way, it's sick.

The wedding (20,370) by Edgewise from the UK

Just wanted to congratulate Mariah and Nick on their wedding. I loved reading the People magazine article, they both seemed to be gushing, it was nice to read. I hope Mariah has a happier marriage this time around, I'm sure she will be very happy, and roll on Baby Mariah. I wonder, if they have children, what she'll name it? You guys got any ideas? Oh and to the person who said "4real4real" sounded different, and that she sounded "in love", um, didn't she record that at the same time as all the other E=MC2 songs, no?

Hey Jay wassup, my two cents (20,369) by Cocoahomme from the USA

Hey Jay, wassup> You know I come on the message board every now and then. I'm just amazed at what is being said about this marriage. I mean, I know everyone has their opinion and they are entitled to their opinion, but it's like the reasons for their opinion on the marriage are so unfounded and illogical. I mean, how long you date/court a person has no basis on how long a marriage would last. Who cares about Nick's track record. Maybe he (in the past) could find a real woman. Plus, Mariah has never been known to be a serial monogamist. She hasn't sleep around with dozens of celebrities despite what others say (sorry Eminem, bag of BS). When she gets into a relationship, she is 100% committed to it. I always believed also she still would have been married to Tommy Mottola if he would have let her be herself, and she confirmed that belief in one of her statements in Interview magazine. For as Nick, I hear people say oh he is not on the same level as her. Who cares. 1. There aren't that many men who are on the same level or are wealthy as Mariah. She may never have gotten married if that was the template of who she needs to be with. 2. Nick is hardly broke. He is a mini-mogul (record label, clothing company, producer) so he has money in the bank. Furthermore, people think he is corny because he isn't someone's babydaddy, doesn't call women bitches or hos in his raps, never been arrested and if you are a black male who is like this, it makes you corny. Nick is a great catch. So congrats to them.

Re-focus on Bye Bye (20,368) by Jay from the USA

Ok, now back to our regularlly scheduled program. Lol. Everybody, we have to seize this opportunity, I checked MediaBase and every single on there is moving down the chart, including Leona Lewis. Now is he perfect time to push Bye Bye to #1. Lets request and download (lets have a download day when Mariah reaches the top 10). Mariah is going on Ellen, that's great. I hope she sings Bye Bye. And if Oprah repeats her show, that will be the top 2 shows in daytime to give Bye Bye the kick it needs to move up the chart. Through in the canceled TRL and 106 and Park and The View apperences and its like Mariah is right where she left off. Timing really is everything. lol.

Re: Mimi (20,367) by Jay from the USA

Come on now, that is how you can tell this is for real. You know how when you hang around people for a long time you get like them, talk like them and everything. If they are now "one" than that saying is his just as much as Mariah's. It's cute and funny to me.

The marriage (20,365) by RadChad from the US

You know, I had a gut feeling that life was gonna be different for Mariah after this album was released and I knew it was gonna be a personal change. For some reason I just couldn't see her taking another 2 to 3 year break and then coming out with another album. So this marriage must have been what it was. I understand the initial shock and disapproval of the fans, but we have to ask ourselves, what if this is her destiny? What if Nick is the guy she's meant to be with and is really her soulmate? So we can't really be mad at her or feel like she's inconsistent, because we all do things or maybe have done things that people who know us probably wouldn't expect us to do. It doesn't always matter how long you've been dating because there are people who've dated a long time and still end up divorcing and then there are people who've married fast and are still together. True love always prevail and if they are soul mates they will work it out during harder times. Anyway they look happy together, so I wish them the best and hopefully they've made the right decision.

Congrats Mimi (20,364) by Pete from Australia

Firstly, I want to congratulate Mariah and Nick on their wedding. I hope all the fans can be happy for them too. In all the appearances and media about Mariah in the last 2 months or so you can see how happy she is. How glowing and happy did M look at the premiere of Tennessee. She's obviously happy and she looks great too. Mariah ans Nick are the US version of the Beckhams. They both looked hot when we saw them first as a couple in Manhattan. One more thing, I never believed Mariah got a "boob job", but as she put on a little weight (I'm not saying she was fat) her boobs got big and in some public appearances she made they looked like they were going to explode (the push up bra she wore helped). Now she looks hot. My mum was one that stopped liking her because she thought M had a boob job. The other day I was watching the Bye Bye video on the net with mum and she was like wow, how pretty and nice does Mariah look. The first thing she said was how skiny she was and that her boobs were smaller.

Mariah at Time 100 Gala and E=MC2 (20,363) by Ian James from Sabah, Malaysia

Did Mimi perform? If so, what song did she sing? I want to watch that performance so badly but it's nowhere to be found on YouTube. Edub, I also think that E=MC2 resembles Emotions if these two albums were to be compared musically. Btw, the latter is my all-time favourite album. To point out a few similarities, The Wind = I Wish You Well. Make It Happen = I'm That Chick. To Be Around You = I'll Be Loving You Long Time. Can't Let Go = For The Record.

Mimi wedding and Bye Bye (20,362) by Robby from the Philippines

Well first and foremost, I would like to say best wishes both to our dear MC and her new hubby Nick. May love be with them always. I believe the new couple deserves our wishes and prayers for their relationship to bloom. Let us go back to business and Bye Bye. I have seen the video and I am quite disappointed with the video. But the song is already too good to hear that a video (like what they did) is very much acceptable. I really wish the American lambs will request more and more on Bye Bye to make it happen as MC's 19th #1. The song is really, really good and I love the lyrics so much. It makes me cry every time I listen to it. But if a song did not make it number 1, it does not mean it is not so good. There are lots and lots of songs which didn't make to the top of Billboard Hot 100 that I really think are good (Mimi's Can't Let Go and Breakdown, Christina Aguilera's Beautiful, DC's Cater To U, etc). But still, let us be united to make Bye Bye MC's 19th number 1. Nothing is impossible dahlings. I love you MC so much.

My thoughts (20,361) by JB_Fly from the USA

Ok, I need to share my thoughts on all of what's been going on with our Mariah. First of all, to be just honest to all of you guys and gals, I was a bit skeptical with the wedding rumors. Nick Cannon? Come on. She could have done better. Someone said something about us just being protective of our Mimi and I will agree with that. Hearing the rumor that she got married to him made me kinda sick listening to her music. I couldn't accept it. But when I saw the pics in the People Magazine and saw how happy she was, I realized that if she is happy I am happy. My only problem is that I believe they did it too soon too quick. I could be wrong and I hope I am wrong. I hope that Nick will treat her the way she wants to be treated and Mariah will treat him like he wants to be treated. Goodluck in the future and I hope that they make beautiful music together. Congratulations Mariah and Nick.

PS (20,360) by Edub from the UK

I forget where I read/heard this, but there was conjecture that MC and NC (whoever coined that, apols for forgetting you, but it's hot) would have a second ceremony and big party for family and friends once they got back. Does anyone know anything about this? Where do we think they're going to live? And most importantly, I wonder when the meet the families is going to happen?

Her marriage (20,359) by Kelvink from Malaysia

I seriously am happy for her right now. After so many years of being single and she's gonna be 40 now. She deserves to be in a correct relationship rather than just hangout all the time. I hope this marriage can last and she'll be able to give birth to an incoming talent since singing is in her genes. She just needs to pass on her vocal and creativity to her children. As we all know, Mariah is human and she needs someone to heir her specialty. Just my thoughts though. I would really love to see her children taking her footsteps and to make their mom a legend that would be from generation to generation.

A couple of things (20,358) by Edub from the UK

K love, thank ya hunni. Drop me a line at tacsaunty@googlemail.com. I'll let you in on something that may surprise you. Got any more ice tea, lol? Mimi, I know exactly what you mean, I thought that after his first comment on whether they were dating or not "I can't even know what to say, she's just the most festive person". I felt like hollering "Hey, you get your own lingo Mr, that stuff's ours!" Lammy, sweetheart, I think you're misunderstanding what some of us are saying. Neither myself, nor several others on here are saying we don't care about Mariah's personal life - quite the contrary. What we're saying is that it is utterly ridiculous to start burning verbal effigies, beating our chests and crying out to the heavens at the imaginary injustice of a woman who quite frankly has done nothing worse than fall head first, get hitched to a young one, and brand skin on a body that belongs to whom? "Not you, not I" as the song says (IWYW). No matter which way it's sliced, there's no sane argument for some of the comments by the indignant ones on here. It's actually strange because as I'm reading them I'm thinking to myself "Is this how my friends see me?" They all think I'm obsessed beyond reason. There are too many great posts at last check to reference, but I wanna shout a few of my faves out: PJW, TJ, Angela, Stephen, P-Nasty - that's entertainment. On another note, E=MC2 reminds me of Emotions. I been thinking that for a few weeks. MC needs to have a girl, can't see her with a son.

Bye Bye stats (20,356) by Jonathan from the USA

Even though the song is almost falling out of the Top 40, I heard airplay is still going up? I'm assuming after the huge spectacle with her marriage, as well as her video release, that Bye Bye wil definitely gain huge momentum. We're all (well most of us) are excited and happy for Mariah, but we can't forget about the great single she has out right now, and the mission to shut Elvis fans up once and for all, lol.

Mariah and Nick (20,355) by Holly from the UK

I'm still in shock over Mariah getting married, and I don't know why because it's not my life, lol. I guess I just hope she hasn't made a mistake, and I truly hope for her sake she has found her Mr. Right as it would be horrible to watch if this all went wrong for her, she deserves happiness, particularly where men are concerned. As for the tattoos, personally, I think it's a really dumb idea seeing as all relationships are fragile, particularly "celebrity" ones. Mariah does look so happy in all of her recent photos though and I'm happy for her, but I worry that once she and Nick start a family, this could be the winding down of her career? I know it sounds selfish but I would miss her music terribly. Just my thoughts.

The wedding / Jack / contract (20,354) by PJW from the USA

I've not posted for a while so thought I'd throw my two cents in today. On the marriage, a huge congrats go out to her. I'm genuinely happy about this, I really am, although I will admit there are certain things about it which are very odd. However, giving them the benefit of the doubt, this is amazing. We should all be happy that she is happy, irrelevant of the circumstance. I do agree that more album/single promo should be done but damn, if I'd just got married I'd be far away from work on a beach with a lobster on my plate too. Regarding Jack, Mariah said about two months ago that no, he's not dead, but he's old and not always energetic so she's keeping him out of the limelight and giving him a quiet life nowadays. Album wise, her contract was a three album deal with the option of a fourth (the 4th I'm sure would be based on the success of Mimi and E=MC2) so technically, E=MC2 could be her last album with IDJ though we can 99.999% guarantee that she'll do the fourth and re-sign with them, especially as she just signed a new publishing deal with them. We've come to learn though that nothing is certain in the world so don't be surprised if that changes too.

She looks amazing (20,353) by TJ from the USA

Mariah has never looked as good as she does these days. I honestly can't get over it. Everything seems to be working. As far as her and Nick C, I am so completely happy for the both of them. I am really happy she finally got married again. For a long time I was starting to think Mariah was a-sexual or something, and had no desire to re-marry or want any companionship of someone else. I also hope her and Nick C have a child together really soon. Their children would be so cute. I hope she has a girl.

Special K from California (20,352) by Nattalie from the USA

That was the funniest best comment I have ever heard on this site for a really long time. It's about time someone feels the same way I do. They need to get off this lady and live a life. I personally think they look great together and the more she loves him the better our future songs will be.

Only one thing bothering me (20,351) by Mimi from the USA

I am all about Mariah being happy, but this Nick dude needs to stop using her quotes. Him saying, "We are both eternally 12" annoys me. Don't know why, but it really bugs me. That is so Mariah's thing.

Ian / Alexis / Jack in the BB video (20,350) by Edub from the UK

Hi Ian, thanx for the compliment dahling, it's not even that big though. I notice those type of things only because I obsessively have to learn her lyrics within a week/fortnight of an album release. "I'm outta control, Ah, I don't know why." It's my OCD side, I guess, lol. Had the Nick thing not occurred, we'd all be none the wiser, right. Alexis, it's a rarity for you, you're not eloping are you, lol. I can't even be bothered to try to talk sense to some of those still crying "woe is me I didn't get an invite". What's the point, they want to find a fault in a situation that at this point, should only illicit best wishes and support. Nothing anyone says is gonna make them see sense so I'm "migrating" off that element of the topic. On another, has anyone seen Nick's rock? Mimi does her man good. As far as Jack goes, I've not heard anything about him being sick. As far as I'm aware, he's fine. As well as Nick as a superfluous element, yes, I agree with that, there's an added element that to me, is confusing if you're not familiar with the people in the pictures. There are snapshots of people like Dionne Warwick in the video. Last time I checked, Ms. Dionne is alive and well, so I can only assume her inclusion is as a person of inspiration/one who's made a difference to Mariah's life, as with her father and others who've influenced her in some way. Jack would count.

Not much of a stunt (20,347) by P-Nasty from the USA

How could people say this is a stunt when they stayed out of the limelight for a week? To them haters, the marriage is real. You could lose rings but not tattoos. It's a shame that people try to make something positive into a negative. Mimi is not looking for the publicity. The media pretty much tracked her down. Good luck, Mimi and Nick.

Wedding pictures (20,346) by Ronald from the Philippines

Re: Lashonda (20,345) by Lammy from HK

I feel the same as well. Mariah is the role model that I look up to since I was a little girl. I believed deeply in what she has taught us through her music and her charitable works and interviews, such as to have faith in yourself, be financially independent and work hard to achieve your goals. I don't understand why some lambs here say they don't care/we shouldn't care so much about her personal life. I was shocked by the news, and been feeling very upset because I worry about her. I know she's 38 and is much more experienced in every way than I am. But I think when you love someone a lot, you can't help but to care and worry when you hear he/she got married to someone they just dated for 6 weeks. For the past 10 years we have been listening to Mariah's songs about her sorrow and disappointment caused by her marriage to Tommy. I had prayed hard that she would meet the "suitable" person. To me, "suitable" means that after dated for at least a year, you understand more about that person and trust that the marriage will last. 6 weeks, to me, it's just the beginning of the relationship so of course it's sweet and joyful, but how could you commit to it so quickly? I had always prayed for her that way, cause I know it'd hurt her and hurt us lambs like hell to see her get divorced again or became a single mom.

Pregnancy (20,344) by Lee from the UK

So it looks like it's all confirmed and official. Mariah Carey has wed for the second time. I am happy that Mariah is happy and hope she stays that way for as long as possible. I hope Nick doesn't cheat on her as he has been known to do or I am sure somebody out there "will hunt him down". I don't understand the tattoos, it's beyond tacky and lacks class but clearly that's just my personal opinion. Daz, I understand what you mean but I hope Mariah isn't saying "bye bye" as in "I'm retiring". I think when the time comes it will be when she has a baby and goes on hiatus for a while. I can see Mariah releasing and singing songs whilst pregnant but I don't think she will do it in the first couple of years after giving birth, I think this is when she may go on hiatus. With that being said, does anyone know how many more albums Mariah needs to record to fulfil her contract with IDJ? Can she take long breaks between albums or is there a time frame on the contract? If she does have a baby, I can imagine her post-baby album will be quite a beautiful one lyrically. Can you imagine being a child and having Mariah singing you lullabys? I'm looking forward to the Ellen interview.

Mrs. Cannon (20,343) by Special K from California

I'm sitting here drinking my ice tea with lemons reading everybody's posts. Dang, this is some good ice tea by the way. Hey, Edub your post was really insightful. I had to read it twice. Well said. Love the name Edub by the way. Coco, loved the point you bought up about how people court/date for years, get married and divorce anyway. There is no rhyme or reason now is there? Loved it. Very insightful. I've noticed some fans have switched up their tune. We are all allowed to change our minds now aren't we? Funny, Mariah does it and you have some fans dropping her like a bad habit, lol. Dave, I feel ya. It's kinda disturbing that Mamma Pat was not there but we honestly don't know the reason for her non attendance. I have to admit though, what made me have a "Oh hell naw" moment was when Mariah and Nick admitted that they got tatoos. Tony I agree, I miss the Dreamlover Mariah too. Ah, those were the days but life goes on you know what I mean? Angela, you're right, life isn't just about having #1 singles and albums. Good point. In closing, I just want to say I really feel for those fans who became emtionally unstable because Mariah got married. That is so sad. Shit, really sad. Give me a break. We got gas and food prices going through the roof, and people losing their homes faster than teenagers losing their virginity. Do yourself a favor and do something worth while with your time and volunteer to work in an Obama campaign.

K, how is it going there lady? Hope all is well for you and the hubby. Yup, I am still trying to find every logical excuse, but it just isn't happening. The song, video, and this event happening at the same time just isn't cool. Practically a Jennifer Lopez move, and that ain't good in my book. There are just too many red flags on this one. Momma Carey not there? Red flag. Six weeks? Red flag. Have to agree with the Jay and Bey example. That was handled the right way and damn classy to boot. Then again, Jay and Bey had 6 years. I'm going to stop here before I go into everything in detail and bring a humongous storm on this topic lol. And for message (20,304) Just shocked, no, there are many more that will completely co-sign what you said.

What's up? Where have you been hommie? Lol. The people that say that Mariah owes them something are beyond sad. Did anybody force you people to spend money on Mariah's music, movies or concerts? No. That was your choice. So stop that foolishness. You may not agree with her choices, but that's on you. Is it gonna change anything? No. So what's the point?

Wedding photos (20,337) by Ian James from Sabah, Malayisa

They looked absolutely stunning. I've always fantasized about the idea of an "island wedding". A big shout out to all of you for your posts especially Danielle Carr. It was very well said and reading your post was like a "slap in the face" moment for me. Lol. Seriously, you woke me up, dahling. Honestly, I felt quite down these past few days but after seeing how genuinely happy Mariah was on her wedding day, I felt like falling in love with her for the second time and yes, I fell in love with the brand-new/newly-wed Mariah. And she was totally right when she said she has always been so career-oriented. To those who feel as though Mariah has abandoned them, I feel you but fret not because Mariah will be back and I'm sure once you get the chance to see her face abounding in bliss, you wouldn't ask for more. PS: Edub, I felt really dumb for not realizing that Mariah actually gave us a hint through most of the songs on the album. You are one hell of an observer and I admire you for that.

Dreamlover (20,333) by Tony from the USA

Ok, off the current topic for a sec. I was watching her old vids and thought, man, I excruciatingly miss the Mariah in the Dreamlover video. I mean, I truly believe that was when she looked the finest ever. And I remember, when that vid came out, saying to people, oh you should check that vid out. "Mariah is beautiful." I wish we could see that side of her again, just being beautiful minus the six layers of make up, the blatant self-consciousness about her boobs and hips, wearing sneakers and just frolicking around. Anyways, back to 08, she got married after two months of courtship and left the fans in the dark, you say?

Nick and Mariah (20,331) by Cocoahomme from the USA

I, like many people including fellow lambs, was very stunned by this marriage because who saw this coming. I'm honestly and truly ecstatic for her. I'm happy for her. What is disturbing is people already anticipating the demise of a marriage. So what if they only been courting for a few weeks. People, you can court/date someone for years, get married and still get a divorce. A marriage doesn't hinge on how long somebody knows someone. Some people have the same length of time for as courtship for as Nick and Mimi and live happily ever after. There is no rhyme or reason. Both of them are grown. Be happy for them. For as I am concerned, Nick Cannon is a great guy. I have always said that, mark my words, he is going to become the next Will Smith (fyi Will is Nick's mentor). People say Nick is corny. Guess what, they said the same thing about Will Smith and we know the outcome of that opinion. Lol. So cheers to the couple, I wish them all the best. Now for some of your lambs, get a life. I can't believe the gall of some of y'all saying she needs to explain all of this. Mariah's life doesn't revolve around yours. She doesn't owe us anything, but pure entertainment which last time I check she has done thus far. Let her live, and you live your life. Peace out. (Shoutout to Special K, Jay, and the rest.)

Marriage (20,330) by Scott from the USA

I still don't believe the marriage is real. Matching tatoos? I just don't buy it. Remember they filmed the clip to Love Story also, this explains the pics of them getting married and the "Mariah" tattoo on his back. There are no pics showing her "Ms Cannon" tattoo are there. Also, the People interview sounded like the OK magazine interview, meaning it didn't sound like her. I'll believe it when I hear it straight from the horses mouth in a voice message I reckon.

Confirmed (20,329) by Nikki from the USA

Well, she just confirmed it. And am I the only one surprised they got tattoos? Hoping for the best, she did actually have a prenup in place as it turns out. She said in the People's interview that everything fell into place and thought it was love at first sight. She truly believes that he understands her and loves her for her. With that said and done, she may not have did the whole wait and look at everything at every possible angle thing. But if she believes what she said then she did follow through with everything else she's ever preached about. She's always been a romantic and this is just another reflection of that. They both talked about wanting kids. So I'm happy for her and truly, madly, deeply bless her.

The wedding (20,328) by Sal from the USA

OK, congrats are due for MC and NC. I was just as shocked as everone else, but I will respect her decision. I ain't Tommy Mottola trying to run her life and neither should any of the other fans. Hello, she is 38 years old, she can do whatever she wants. As for the single Bye Bye, it is picking up spins and will continue its upward mobility soon, once she starts promoting it again. Just an FYI, Leona Lewis has also took out a new single two weeks ago, it was sent to adds, and it ain't no where in the charts. So don't freak out about Bye Bye and how it's doing. That's all.

4Real4Real, y'all are killing me with this spiel, Ian / Special K / Alexis (20,327) by Edub from the UK

Look folks, let's get something straight here. Mariah is not your personal shoebox puppet, she doesn't need your permission to do a damn thing. Know why? Because she's a grown-arse female. Yes, I'm shocked, yes, I think it's out of the left-field, but y'know what? Not once has it crossed my mind to start crying foul for betrayal and other imaginary crimes. Here's my humourous question: how exactly did you think Mariah would be able to "let us in" on her plans without the press getting ahold of it and ruining everything? We all know how close she is to her mother and from what we're being asked to believe she wasn't there. Mariah might be "like" family to her fans, but she is family to the woman who gave her life so what makes you think you're more important? Ian, thank you dahling, actually, the whole album is littered with little references/innuendos like that. I mean, she does that all the time with her albums, but this one is bedecked with references. How many times have you heard her referring to liking guys with tattoos before? "Inked up then baby OK" (Migrate). Also; 4Real4Real was one of the last she recorded; it features Da Brat who, apart from Shawn, was the only guest we know about. From the moment I first heard it, I could tell there was something different about her. I just didn't know what. I guess it was MC in love. Alexis, no bikini shots? Um, Vibe spread, hun. Special K, entertaining as always. You're one of my fave posters on here.

Mariah, I got your back (20,326) by Angela from San Jose, California

Seriously, I just really want to understand why people are so upset that Mariah got married. I keep reading she left the fans out. Okay, did you really expect Mariah to post it up on website that she was getting married? Another thing, do you really believe in your heart or hearts that Mariah serioulsy doesn't love her fans? I understand feeling let down, but do fans expect Mariah to sacrafice her own happiness? I just think people are being really selfish. And fans keep focusing in on Bye Bye falling on the charts, but let's keep in mind TMB is still in the top ten. Hmmm. Boy, it's a thin line between love and hate. Mariah, I got your back. I'm so happy for you and only you can make the decision as to what is best for you. Don't let these fans with their "oh woes is me, you did us so wrong" attitude, pull you down from your happiness. Some people just don't understand that life isn't just about having #1 singles and albums. You can't please everybody all the damn time. Fans like me understand why you took two freakin weeks out of 18 years for you own happiness. I'm not mad at ya.

Get real (20,325) by Stephen Madigan from London, England

I think some fans here need to get real. Mariah is a grown woman, who at 38, has happened to meet someone who has never made her feel this way in all of her 38 years of existence, and is obviously caught up in the moment of a whirlwind romance. Ok, to some extent it contradicts her previous views on marriage, but in recent years those views have loosened, to the point where she said she would do it for kids etc. However, when Mariah has made these previous statements, I don't think she believed a love which she is feeling now was possible. Sometimes in life, not everything is as clear as black and white, and now and again we get caught up in a grey area, which we never expected, and is different to our views. Not everything is straight forward, simple, or as easy to do, when emotions in a new relationship run so fast, so soon. At the end of the day, Mariah is a person, who has feelings, and has met somebody who makes her feel a way nobody has done before, so what's wrong with that? It's her personal life, it's her choice, and so what if it contradicts certain things. I'm sure we have all done that before. I know I have said there are certain things I would not do, but found myself in a grey area, and done them. That's life, she is human. I think we need to be happy for her, and stop all the hating. On another point, we don't know enough about Nick to judge him, but I have always thought he was a nice enough guy, and I would not mind dating him, given the chance lol.

New life, better new songs? (20,324) by Sissy from CH

I'm happy for her but I just hope that her new husband is a serious guy and isn't using her. Anyway, I think that the good point of all this story is that her new life will probably inspire her new sounds, new lyrics and she will finally come up soon with an album more original, creative and interesting because from my point of view, even if her last album contains good songs like Cruise Control, if she doesn't try to inovate a little bit in the future she won't reach the top charts anymore, don't you think?

Re: Todd / more thoughts you probably don't want to hear (20,323) by Chase from the USA

Todd, I appreciate your post, but I think you need to consider something. What is the point of an interview if not to allow the reader or viewer to learn more about the artist, both professionally and personally? I can't speak for everyone, but I have been a fan long enough to read and watch a number of interviews in which she has spilled out her (supposed) views on marriage and romance. Face it, based on what she has said in the past, this marriage is about as out of character as it gets. Mariah might know what's best for her, but a quickie marriage after two months of dating does not bode well for anyone, in my opinion. The recent AP article posted here features some quotes that are astonishing in their stupidity. I believe marriage is the most important commitment in life, and I am afraid Mariah has been blinded by her infatuation. Perhaps the 38 year-old woman who considers herself eternally 12 is in the throes of a mid-life crisis. I hope not.

You guys are crazy (20,322) by Danielle Carr from the United States

I want to start by saying leave Mariah Carey alone. Even though she did something hasty, it really shouldn't matter as long as she's putting out great music. Granted, I was a little surprised at what she did, she's an adult so she should be aloud to make her own decisions without having her so-called fans rag on her or say what she was doing was crazy. Leave her alone. Let her live her life in peace. So long as she continues to stay happy. If you guys don't approve of what she's doing than stop reading the message board. Like I said, although it might seem that Mariah has kind of well, maybe lost it according to some of you people, she's still an amazing person. I think that she has come a long way from the '90's considering she has gone through so much. Her mother must be so proud of her. By the way, everyone keeps talking about Jack, what happened to him? I hope he's OK. Mariah you are wonderful. Keep it up. Don't listen to everything or read everything you see or hear. Just do what you got to do. Bye bye for now.

Dave / Randy (20,321) by Special K from California

Dave, I must admit too that it bothered me to see Mariah's wedding photos on the cover of People magazine. But then I figured maybe they made the decision to tell their story their way so they would have more control over what is being said about their relationship. It would have been nicer if they took the Beyonce/Jay-Z route though. Randy, I see your point to certain degree, however, in recent interviews Mariah said that she would marry again if she found a person that really understood her and was on the same level as her spiritually. Mariah also did say that one of the only reasons she would marry again would be to have children. What did Mariah do that was so bad? Seriously? Yeah, it is out of left field that she married somebody she has only known for two months, but people are acting like she drove drunk and killed somebody. I declare April 30 as the day the lambs lost their minds, lol. Some of you need a hobby. Go volunteer somewhere.

Re: Lashonda (20,320) by R from the USA

That is exactly how I felt, like in every interview she would say she loves her fans and this and that and I truly felt like she was so genuine and truthful and she made me feel like I knew her. And then she just goes and does everything she said she would never do. I know sum people are gonna get all defensive but I have to say what I feel. I feel let down, and to those who said it's her personal life and her career has nothing to do with it. Well, just look at the numbers, Bye Bye just keeps falling on BB and I'm sure that wouldn't be happening if she had been proffesional and not cancelled her tv appearances. Benny Medina has a lot of work to do, that is if he is still even working with Mariah. Didn't he stop working with Jennifer Lopez because of the same thing? And where is she now in the industry? Big bummer.

Please just say bye bye to "Bye Bye" (20,319) by Platinum from the USA

Okay, Bye Bye is not going to be Mimi's 19th Number One. Let's get real and move past this, already. Bye Bye is catchy but it's just too breathy to beat out that "bleeding" Leona Lewis. I think That Chick gets a better chance to be a top 10 song for Mimi but it still doesn't have the wide appeal like Stay In Love. Don't you secretly wish that Mimi is working on some other amazing songs that she will put out in her Platinum Edition of E=MC2? I am feeling it's coming before the Thanksgiving. Oh come on, Mimi is not stupid. Everyone can tell E=MC2 is losing momentum unexpectedly faster than TEOM. I am pretty sure L.A. Reid is calling DJ and working on some other smashing songs for Mimi right now.
(Thursday May 8, 2008; 20:06)
Stay In Love should be Mimi's fourth single (20,318) by Touch Me from the USA

Leona Lewis is all smiling these days. With that unstoppable hit single "Bleeding Love", Leona is set to rule the summer of 2008. It looks like Bleeding Love will be the We Belong Together of the year and it's going to win Leona tons of wins in the award season (I think Leoan will win big in 09 Grammy award, just like Amy Winehouse). But, I do believe our Mimi will recoup and get her 19th Number One with Stay In Love. Bye Bye (2nd) and That Chick (3rd) are good but they don't showcase Mimi's vocals like Stay in Love. (Hmmm, big vocalist is coming back to fashion these days.) I can only hope LA Reid puts out Stay In Love by the cut-off date for Grammy Award so our Mimi could have a better chance challenging Leona's Bleeding Love.

Re: Lashonda and LS lyrics (20,317) by Ian James from Sabah, Malaysia

Lashonda, I know where you're coming from. I've been trying to remain positive and be happy for Mariah as I love her that much but your recent post just reminded me how emotionally unstable I've been these past few days thinking about what has been going on with her life lately. I've been quiet about this as I really thought I was being selfish or unrealistic to expect Mariah to live up to my own expectation. But you made me realize what a big part she has been in my life to the point of being affected so deeply by anything she does. As much as I'm happy for her, I wish she knew how "left out" we really feel we are as her dedicated fans. Reading your post was such a therapeutic moment for me. That aside, Edub from the UK made a good point about the LS lyrics. I didn't notice the part in which she possibly talked about Nick. Thanks for pointing that out. Whatever it is, nobody owns Mariah but herself. I really hope I'll recover once she bounces back and make us rediscover the woman whom we adore and love so much.

MC (20,316) by Nikitta from Slovenia

So much Mariah buzz, my oh my, what can I say? We wish her all the best in the world of course, anything that makes Mariah happy is good for me. But the ultra-fast secret wedding, crazy rush of the impulse thing is more common for ala Britneys' etc. This is a big woah for this lamb too and I'm a lil confused right here, because it's the very opposite of what she has been ardently saying about relationship and marriage for years. What happened to the very cute Mark S, they really seemed serious and great together with the long relationship. They seemed to fit so great, almost as she did with Luis M. We are emotionally invested in her all these years, been through a lot (stuck through the rain), so it's normal we take to heart and value so much she says and does; kinda as a "hero", role-model, friend etc. So it's normal people giving different opinions, agreeing or not. I personally don't get it dahling, love her to death and everything. I kinda think it's very convenient all the media buzz is around the time the two vids with NIck C are dropping. Still don't see what he has to do with Bye Bye, which is an amazing video. Like people said, it doesn't make any sense or impacting as WM did in his two videos on TEOM. But, Mariah Cannon, wish you well in anything you do and at least she's still MC.

Some thoughts on this marriage, and did J-Lo pull Mariah's motherhood trigger? (20,315) by Dan from the USA

Given Mariah's decision to rush into marriage to a man with a shoddy romance rep, whom she barely knows, I think the issue of whether she is a proper role model to the kids of Camp Mariah should be given some thought by the Fund's board of directors (just my opinion). Her whirlwind marriage directly contradicts everything she's ever said publicly about her beliefs about marriage being something sacred and not to be rushed into. Also, I really wonder if Mariah's nemesis Jennifer Lopez recently giving birth to twins pushed her to another possible emotional breaking point. Unfortunately I don't see good things coming from this marriage in the near future, but I hope someone close to her will try to talk some sense into her. Marriage isn't for 12 year olds.

Wedding? (20,314) by KB from the UK

Ok, I'm finding it very difficult to believe Mariah is married. Maybe I am wrong but until a formal confirmation from her camp, I don't think I can believe it. Personally I think they shot a video for the next single and that is probably what we have seen pictures of. We knew Nick was going to film two videos and if Love Story is the next single, then I think the pictures we have seen are from that shoot. It's the only thing that makes sense right now to me and fits in with the story of Bye Bye and then Love Story.

Oh my (20,313) by Todd from NZ

Some of you people make me laugh. I want to point out that probably none of you actually know Mariah Carey. You listen to her music, watch her in interviews, and that's it. Saying that this is "uncharacteristic" is ridiculous. You have no idea what her character is. She is a recording artist, what she does with her personal life is of no concern to anyone other than herself. Her job is to put out music that sells. Not to cater to every obsessed weirdo's misconception of her.

Bye Bye video (20,312) by Daz from the USA

Is Mariah singing in the Apollo Theatre at the end of the film clip? It looks similar. Something kinda doesn't sit right with me with the clip. It's kinda like she's saying goodbye. Maybe she's gonna retire after this album?

Married Mariah (20,312) by Richard from the Philippines

You know what's funny? When she's single, most of us want her to get married and have kids. Now she's married and possibility of being preggy, now we can't believe it. To be honest, she still broke my heart, not that it matters because it's her life and I'm just an admirer, but you know it's more of I can't believe she's that inconsistent. I believe every word she says in every interview, especially about marriage, and then just boom, she's married (even without prenup, so not Mariah). To me, she lost credibility/integrity on this issue, making her like what other people say, superficial. Well, I think she's infatuated. Anyway, I hope this won't be another Glitter era for E=MC2 because it's such a good album. I don't want another great work to be trashed badly. I still love her and I'll always be a fan, let's support her in this decision and let her know how we wish them all the happiness in this world.

All I've Ever Wanted (20,310) by Derek from Australia

I have the lyrics to this song sitting on top of my laptop. If these lyrics are how Mariah feels about Nick then of course they should be married. I wish her every happiness, if that comes anywhere near as much happiness as she has brought to me then she will be forever smiling. How long do you think it will be before E=MC2 starts selling more than Hard Candy. I think in 2 weeks E=MC2 will be back on top, maybe back to #1. I haven't seen the Bye Bye clip but I am sure that will give the song a huge boost. There is definitely a strong chance the song can still get to #1, the Billboard review of the single said so itself. I had a good listen to Love Story yesterday and it is actually a great song that could appeal to a wide audience. So much depends on the clip and promotion these days. The person who compared it lyrically to The Roof had a good point. If the clip is anywhere near as good as The Roof it will be a massive hit. I don't think Mariah has ever looked hotter than when she had her hair wet and was looking sultry in that clip.

E=MC2 similar to Mariah Carey (20,309) by NotTooUpsetFan from the USA

Let her be, she's nearly 40 (20,305) by Kenny from Australia

I mean, she is not that young to be single anymore. She needs a family, she needs kids, why can't you guys just be happy for her? If she's over 40, it will be harder for her to have children. Do you really want her to be a lonely bitch in 10 years time? By the way, I have a feeling E=MC2 is the last momentum she can have, I feel very tired of it already, she needs to do something new. I don't see anymore single from the album has the potential to be as big as TMB, WBT. I still love her, and wish her well.

What is wrong with her? (20,304) by Just Shoked from the United States

Has she lost her mind? Does anyone else in here feel the same way? I have only known you for a month, and it's time to get married. Even if it has been going on longer, he broke up with that Serita chic back in October. Either way, that is what they want us to believe, and oh yeah, that's long enough. She is in the happiest part of the damn relationship, which is the beginning, so of course everything is going to be all hearts and flowers. I'm sorry, but I simply don't know if I can believe much of anything she says anymore. It's almost as if she is disrespecting the sanctitiy of marriage itself. I have always viewed this wonderful woman as an older sister or second mother whom always tries to lead by example, but in my opinion she's kind of dropping the ball on this one. Now, I'm gonna have about 5-10 folks in here that are going to jump on my back about this post I'm leaving, but I really couldn't give a damn because this is my opinion, and I have a right to it. Someone else mentioned her fans being protective and I am totally being overprotective. I do wish her well, though.

Getting married to have kids (20,303) by Joey from the USA

Maybe the reason Mariah got married so fast is because she wants to have children and she has said in the past she wanted to be married to do that. Since she won't be able to have children forever maybe that is why she felt the need to hurry up. That is my guess at least for doing it so fast. I hope it goes well for her but I have a bad feeling about this all.

Mariah's wedding (20,301) by Randy from the USA

I agree with those of you who are saying that the Mariah we know (from what she portrays to us, saying she shares herself completely with her fans) would not have had a rash ceremony. I know what it's like to fall in love quickly and Nick is fine; I'd marry him if it wasn't illegal. My point is, who is this woman? Mariah prides herself on being a prude and only being with enough men to be on the hand. Mariah never wanted to get married because she's seen every marriage in her life fail. And these are all things she has said repeatedly in interviews over the years (that's my disclaimer to the "fans" who act like MC can do no wrong and is the reincarnation of Jesus). I wish her well. I don't think it's going to last any longer than her marriage to Tommy but she can afford to have a tattoo removed. I hope she proves me wrong and I hope she gets back to us soon with an explanation. And for those who are going to commit "she doesn't owe us one", I think she does after all these years she has said that marriage is something not to be taken lightly. Finally again I ask, who is this woman?

Stop the madness (20,299) by Mimi from the USA

Whew. I am out of breath just reading all these messages. Mariah is not hurting her album by canceling appearances. With Mariah, it has never been about the fluff. The meat and potatoes is the music. She delivered with this album. Radio is hungry for Mariah, and the record industry is looking to her as a savior. She is just one woman, folks. She is consistent, and she put her heart out there on this album. I am thrilled she takes time for herself personally and doesn't feel the need to put herself out there like other celebrities. Mariah is Mariah because of her talent, not her celebrity. You can't take talent away because of a few canceled appearances.

My thoughts on MC's marriage and album (20,298) by Badyr Salcedo from Mexico

I'm glad Mariah is happy now. I really hope she'll enjoy marriage this time, she deserves it. I personally do not care if she's married or not, as long as she's happy. Although I love many of the songs on E=MC2, I do feel that, for the first time, I find songs in a Mariah Carey album that I consider have no "soul". Yes, I am talking about "Love Story" and "Thanx For Nothing". The album's artwork is a little bit dull as well, if you compare it to TEOM. However, there are many songs that are "excellent" in my opinion: "Migrate", "Side effects", "I wish you well", "O.C.C.", and, although it might be a bit corny, "Bye bye". I hope they re-release E=MC2 with a few great additions and a better booklet.

Wedding / naysayers (20,296) by Edub from UK

I'm 85-90% convinced they're "nuptialed" now, so congratulations Mariah and Nick if it's true. I didn't see it coming. It's an odd match but it ain't mine, so who am I (or anyone else) to judge. There's just a thing or 7 I wanna say about the general temperature on this board. 1. I came to a humbling realisation yesterday. Like most, I been glued to the wires with a "fever... 102" for a press statement all week. I was also mad cuz my psycho neighbours above violated my privacy and got me stressed. Then it hit me; how was I any different from the funny-farm escapees? Yes, I love the MC to bits, but bottom line - whatever does in her personal life ain't a damn bit of my business or yours. I'm actually quite ashamed for forgetting that wanting to know and deserving to are 2 unrelated things. Yes I've been a fan since VOL and spent mucho dinero on her brand but like all y'all - I didn't buy her. 2. Has anyone considered that LS might be about Nick? Listen real close to the lyrix and inferences, eg.: "His friends, said it's too 'soon' to settle down." "Her friends, said he's a Playa, slow it down." "Chapter 2 when they meet up again, 2nd time around." "Just when it seemed as if the odds were stacked against them." "They came back stronger than before, matter o' fact then some." "Stronger than pride. Stronger than hate and the whole world too." They were pictured together as early as '05. So did they say their relationship was only 6 weeks old, or did "the sources"? 3. Has she confirmed a tattoo? Then why you hatin' over it? Personally I doubt it's existence. If it does, Oprah said it was on her back, and what is she well known for decorating her back with? Fake tatts. Ok so they're normally bejewelled butterflies but so what? No pre-nup? She allegedly answered that question, leaving no grounds for complaint on that point. 4. Appearances/schmerances-thinking on all she's said on the subject over the years, why would you not consider the magnitude of work he must've put into making her feel safe enough to take this step. Don't you think her happiness and wellbeing is more important than TRL and The View? Sorry, I thought you cared about the woman. 5. If y'all really think she'd do such a thing for just a publicity stunt, then backlash be damned, not only are you're "smoking something", but I don't think you're a "real" supporter. Not of the woman behind the music anyway. 6. I feel sorry for her when she reads her fan responses, which I'm sure she will, if she hasn't already. There's MC coming off her post honeymoon glow, to a bunch of people - whom she regards so dear - hating on her more than the media; a day she probably never thought she'd see. With fans like (some of) you, who needs Perez? 7. I pray she does release LS because it's beautiful.

Re: Alexis (20,295) by Special K from California

Aww, your song is so beautiful and so are you. I knew you were a sista, lol. You mentioned in your last post that you and Mariah share the same anniversary (April 30). Well check this out. Nick Cannon and I share the same birthday (October 8), my husband's name is Nick (actually Nicholas but he goes by Nick) and Mariah and my husband are both Aries just like me and Nick are both Libras. Isn't that some crazy shit, lol. Maybe that's why I get so emotional when I think about Mariah getting married. Nick, a piece of advise on being married to an Aries. You're gonna have to be the balancer in the relationship and pick your battles wisely, lol. I know how Nick got Mariah, we Libras are so charming and romantic.

Re: Lee (20,275) (20,294) by Dave from the USA

I didn't want to say that, but thankfully you did. One of the two major things I loved about Mariah was her charitable work and the fact that she always kept her private life private and never used it for her professional career. The minute I saw the people cover and story I felt the same way. It is obvious this was meant to spark interest in her single as well as the album rather than wanting to simply share her six week happiness. She has finally did what most celebs do and make money and publicity off of her private life which she never needed to do. I guess times are a changin'.

Opposite possibility (20,286) by Nikki from the USA (20,293) by Gilbert from the USA

Hi Nikki. Amy and I of course are big fans of MC but we have to agree with you on this "leading man" issue. How and why would you mix up a video about losing someone and then have clips of a relationship that you have going on. It just makes no sense and we believe that the video itself just doesn't do the video any justice. Just a bad move. If she was going to make a collage of different events she should of used all that for a different video. That's all.

Bye Bye push (20,292) by jay from usa

Ok, why is TMB video still up on Mariah's official website if the new Bye Bye video is here? Get on the ball IDJ folks. When is Bye Bye premeriing on MTV and VH1 and BET? When will she make up her cancelled "View" apperence?

On E! (20,291) by German Vazquez from the United States

Have you guys ever watched that show on E! that stars fake something to let a story out? Like Avril Lavigne made up that she was pregnant by having people help her make her look bigger and she went inside this baby store just to let the papparazi know that she was pregnent (when she really wasn't). I'm starting to think that maybe Mariah is doing this too. I don't know! This all just seems like a big whirlwind because I thought Mariah was smarter than that, after all the things she said in interviews about marrying again and stuff.

Side effects (20,290) by Lashonda from USA

Today was a very draining day for me, alot happened. Work sucks, I hate my boss, my kid is giving me hell. Then I realized something. I think alot of my anxiety and tears today, feelings of confusion and blues, actually has to do with my beloved Mariah. It's like feeling like you have known someone your whole life and then they do something that totally makes you feel like you don't even know who they are anymore. I have been a fan for 18 years and have followed Mariah's life with a magnifying glass. She even went as far as to say that her fans know her better than anyone else. After the events of last week, I don't think any of us really know her, did we really know her at all? I mean, what she did was so out in the left field. I also didn't know how much I loved Jack until I seen him in the video for Bye Bye. Is he really gone? If he is, when did it happen? I never heard word of it, and how come something as big as that wasn't made known to the fans? We have to guess if he's dead or alive cuz he's in the video? I just feel like us fans have been excluded and we have always been believed to be part of Mariah's extended family. I guess not. If anyone knows what happened to Jack, could they fill me in? I've been in love with him since Mariah first got him and if he's really gone then I think the fans have a right to mourn for him properly.

"Official" wedding photos? (20,288) by Katie from the U.S.

I'm still waiting for an "official" confirmation of the wedding. Half of me believes it never happened. Especially since I've read countless interviews with Mariah where she says she never wanted to get married again after her horrible marriage to Tommy. Also, the People cover looks photoshopped. It looks like someone took two pictures (one of Nick and one of Mariah) and squished them together. But if it isn't fake, I'm very happy for her and I wish her and Nick the best of luck and happiness.

20,275 (20,287) by Alexis from the USA

I can't even know what to say. You have your right to your complaint, but I just thought it was so lame. Hundreds of celebrities give magazine exclusives and you want Mariah to give up the goods for free, when she got screwed out of money making opportunities for years?
(Wednesday May 7, 2008; 23:09)
Opposite possibility (20,286) by Nikki from the USA

Although I think Mariah's obvious recent losses has probably caused her to jump the gun, after watching the video for "Bye bye" does anyone else get the impression that needing a "leading man" for that video concept was unnecessary? He didn't really serve a purpose there. It wasn't so much a music video as it was home video clips, kinda like the My All/Stay Awhile remix. A segue into their relationship. Perhaps they've been together longer than originally believed.

What happened? (20,284) by Chase from the USA

Mariah Carey can do whatever she wants. Her personal life is hers to conduct as she pleases. I think (or thought) she knows what's best for her. However, I doubt I'm alone when I say I am shocked and very disappointed in her. If what we're reading is true, she made a very rash decision to, after several weeks, make life's most important commitment. The "Mrs. Cannon" tattoo exemplifies just how impulsive she is behaving. I am reminded of Pamela Anderson's beach wedding to Tommy Lee. The Mariah Carey I thought I knew about would never do something like this. Perhaps the years of fame and endless yeses have finally taken their toll. While I'm not optimistic, I still wish her and Nick luck, and I hope their marriage will last a lifetime. On another subject, I think "Bye Bye", the worst track on E=MC2, is the most contrived single Mariah has ever recorded. The video is almost nonsensical. As always, I wish Mariah well.

20,270 and 20,266 and I demand a re-release (20,281) by Alexis from the USA

Thank you, Ian. That was nerve-racking, like, oh-no I'm going on YouTube. I'm going to make another one with just pictures of Mariah and Nick though, because I think it fits. Ronald from the Phillipines, if Mariah loses fans because of her marriage then I'd have to ask the same thing she does in O.O.C. "Whatever happened to empathy? I know you motherf*****s feel like we, when you messin with that one true lover that makes you O.O.C." People who can't respect love and happiness probably aren't happy with themselves. I'm so excited for Mariah's next album and/or re-release of E=MC2, now, because I can't wait to hear all the songs about this.

OK, now I know why she was M.I.A, she probably signed an exclusive with People. So now that we know, congrats to Mariah and Nick. I just hope everything goes well and her career doesn't suffer cuz of this. And to all those people that have gone out of their way to try to put me down for simply voicing my opinion, you're just showing how pathetic you are. You know who you are. Anywho, go Mariah.

Whirlwind (20,279) by Nikki from the USA

When did Jack die? Jack goes and enters Nick Cannon? Considering Mariah's a smart business woman and usually cautious in the matters of the heart, acting impulsive isn't her usual character but I think I can see where she's coming from. She had that dog forever, he was always consistent in her ever changing life. I guess with her dad passing and then her best companion she probably wanted to really embrace her personal life. If she's going to get married there's always going to be some minor leak, but if she came out and announced it - even to us - paparazzi would be all up and down her business and she would've never gotten her private ceremony with just immediate friends and family. This way she gets to do things her way and in her own time. I'm glad Mariah kept her biz sense and had a prenup - that's our girl. It's just I wished it wasn't this Nick knowing his previous playboy antics and all, I hope he does it right this time. Mariah always said she wasn't going to get married again unless she was contemplating children, so he better be one of the rare 20-something's who is ready to have kids. If she's truly happy, I'm glad, but I just hope she's not trying to fill a void with the first one that came around. Take care of yourself girl. Treasure your happiness. I wish you nothing but the best.

Mariah sold out big time (20,275) by Lee from the UK

I wonder how much Mariah and Nick got paid for letting People Magazine have the first pictures and quotes. I can't believe Mariah never released a statement via the website or a voice mail at least to the fans. I'm disapointed Mariah sold out at the expense of her fans. And yes, this is a complaint.

What the heck? (20,274) by Daydream-MC from the USA

Having been married for 6,5 years strong, being almost 31 years old, I can tell you marriage is not something you rush into lightly. It is a big commitment. It took me a year to get married to my husband, and I am totally happy these days. Honestly, if you really work at it, marriage is a lot of heaven with very little hell. Trust me. I'm happy for Nick and Mariah, but I don't know what's going on in her mind. How can she rush into marriage after only being with someone for 2 months? I would never have imagined her doing that after Tommy and her past relationships. Plus, it's not in line with what she's said about getting married again in interviews either. But I guess that's what love does to you. They are probably still in that first stage of love where they are giddy and can't think right (i.e. the tattoo). It seems like it's usually a good idea to wait until that phase is over and make sure you're ready to spend the rest of your life with the person. This kind of behavior goes against everything Mariah has ever said about the importance of marriage and kids. Honestly, I don't know what to believe from MC anymore after this. In the end, the romantic in me hopes it works out. The realist in me though, being married myself, says it doesn't last a year. I hope I'm wrong, though.

Jack in Bye Bye video (20,273) by Naheem from the United States Virgin Islands

Jack appeared in the video because he passed away. He was 15 years old. Now she has JJ. I am listening to E=MC2 as I have been since her album leaked and since I purchased 3 copies of it. The other two were gifts for family members. Mariah has really done it once again. Now I have to comment on the negativity. Mariah is a human being, for those who can't seem to process the cancellations/non-appearances etc. Get over it. You have a life, don't you. She is entitled to some kind of "normalcy". She is devoted to her fans. She has been for the past 18 years. Show some loyalty and stick with our girl. She got married, she needs the down time with her new hubby. People are so damn quick to judge. Mariah deserves our support and love, in time she will explain all. Do you honestly think from how close she is connected to her fans that she would tell us what went down in some sort of fashion. Keep her and her new marraige in your prayers. Play E=MC2 or any of her records in the meantime (if you have them all like I do) and give the songbird supreme and her equally deserving hubby our unconditional love and support.

Seriously? (20,272) by Tony from the USA

Argh, Mariah owes us an explanation because we've spent time requesting at radio and cash buying her CDs and what not? Get outta here. She never held a gun to your head. I've been a fan since Vision Of Love, and trust me I'm a crazy fanatic. But even the idea that Mariah owes us is the wackiest ever. Yes, I would've liked it if she hadn't left the whole entire world in the dark at first, but I'm sure she just needed time to sort things out. And as much as we'd like to think we know Mariah inside out - oh, this isn't so her and she wouldnt have done this and that - we just don't. We should be happy she finally spoke out and shared her happiness.

Pregnancy? (20,271) by MPerry from the USA

There is a big possibility that Mariah will be starting a family in the near future. Wow. Now that is going to be something. I just wanted to say that Nick is pretty successful himself. You said, "She is stable now and an adult making adult decisions, and getting serious with life." I hardly see how making a life commitment with someone you've been involved with for a couple weeks, without signing a prenup, "adult". It's something a 12 year old would do. But then again, that's Mariah, isn't it? "Eternally 12."

Mariah fans on the wedding (20,267) by Bashful from the Philippines

Madonna fans when Madonna married: "Yay, party time!" Celine fans when Celine got married: "Congratulations, Celine and Rene." Mariah fans when Mariah got married: "Nick's not good enough," "It's too soon," "Why didn't she tell us," "She abandoned us." I guess Mariah fans are overprotective of her. And we do care a lot, unlike other fans.

Will Mariah lose fans or lambs because of this marriage? (20,266) by Ronald from the Philippines

Yes. But hopefully she will gain new fans because they will see that she is stable now and an adult making adult decisions, starting a family ang getting serious with life. That eternally twelve thing is defintely out the window. What she entered into is not a game and when she decides to have children, those sexy and daring dresses are also out. She must set an example to her youngins. She was married before so she knows what to do and what not to do to make this marriage work. If she fails with this marriage, that's strike two. If she thinks that what she did was work before this marriage, she's got another thing coming. Marriage is heaven and hell rolled into one.

Bye Bye / Love Story (20,259) by Tommy from Bay Area, Cali

It doesn't make sense to have a love interest in Bye Bye. I think Love Story will be like a prequel to Bye Bye, they were lovers and something really tragic happens and he dies. Again, I really like the video and it's very warm. I really liked the clip of Da Brat with I'm guessing her grandmother? Great video.

Ok, one last post and I'm going to bed. After all this mushy talk, you know what? Now, I'd be disappointed if she and Nick aren't married. I'm all looking forward to the deep tell-all interviews and her ongoing happiness. But still: no confirmation, no proof of a license and quotes from people that may not really be related to Nick Cannon. Hmm. Bye bye Jack? (20,257) by Tommy from Bay Area, Cali

I love the simplicity of the video and Mariah looks gorgeous in it. Towards the end of the video pictures of people starts flashing and I'm assuming those are people who have left. The first time I saw it, they flashed an old pic of MC. I was left with, "Ok?" I was thinking maybe that the old her is gone or whatever. But I'm watching it now on youtube and I paused at the pic, at a second look, she's holding Jack. I've been suspecting for some time now 'cause we always see JJ with her. So, has Jack left?

I got inspired (20,256) by Alexis from the USA

After my post back to Special K, I took my own "emotional moment" and re-wrote We Belong Together, then I got a camera up in here and caught my own flick on YouTube. It's called "My rewrite of We Belong Together for our anniversary". How original, I know. My lyrics (some of hers I had to keep) are:

I knew the first night we were together
that I'd love you so I
Tried not to give in but the truth is
I was already yours
I couldn't hide nothing
It was destined, I was helpless
No use lying to myself
(Baby)
Now I couldn't fathom
even one day going without your love
and every moment with you
only reaffirms that you're the one
Nothing left to do
But accept the truth
and surrender everything cuz
I've never felt
(Baby)

The feeling that I'm feeling
everytime I hear your voice
Or have your touch and kiss your lips
There's just no other choice
for me. I vow to give a lifetime
standing by your side
Stayin right here
Cause baby

If you left, I'd be down on my knees
Without you I'm just not me
It's just so plain to see that
We belong together
Who else am I gonna lean on
When times get rough
Who's gonna talk to me on the phone
Till the sun comes up
No one takes your place
There aint nobody better
Oh baby baby
We belong together...

Re: VeryUpsetFan (20,255) by Tony Scicca from Australia

Make sure when you go down to the hardware store you buy a hammer, some nails and some wood, build a bridge and get over it. Me me me, that's all I was reading, get over yourself. What the hell does this woman have to do to have the least bit of a normal life? She wants to have a honeymoon, who in the world are you to say she needs to explain herself? I am so sure that the only reason you want her to do interviews and tv shows is so that she can promote the new single and hopefully get it to number 1. But you know what, there is plenty of time for that. She can release 30 singles in the next 10 years, but last time I checked you usually have your honeymoon after your wedding. Then you go on to say that you invested money into her, I've spent thousands of dollars on Mariah cd's, 12", 7", perfumes, dvd's, with a singles collection of over 500, I still have some sence not to expect people to do things for me because I spend money, she's not a vending machine.

Mariah (20,254) by D.G. from the UK

Why are people going on about "Mariah owes us nothing"? No, she doesn't but you'd think someone as dedicated to her fans and who shares a connection that many other artists do not would release a statement either way. I don't want to know her personal life as she deserves that but I think as "real" fans who support her musically and buy the albums and go to the tours etc have a right to know whats going on at least. I mean, its a wedding, it should be celebrated especially by us. The press knows anyway so I don't see the big deal, they knew before any of the fans did. And just going off in the middle of a new single without any warning left us lambs to the slaughter, how are we supposed to get it to No.1 or for other people to start buying the album and what not. I say congratulations to her and I hope they're both happy but I also hope she re-starts that connection, cos I get a feeling some fans are feeling alientated.

A lot of sites are acting like she just met Nick Cannon, even though pictures from award shows in 2006 show they at least met before. Cancelled dates (20,248) by Alexis from the USA

Some people need to get off their high horses. At the least, marriage is a family matter. If none of you would take off work for a family matter, then more power to you, but I'm glad Mariah is putting herself first. No matter what she's doing. Did you just forget where all her "professionalism" got her in 2001, when she never said no to anything and didn't take time off? People didn't lose money because she wasn't on the View, not fans anyway. And, keeping it really real, what the heck do true fans get from her appearances anyway? She says the same things that we already know (cuz obviously there's things she doesn't talk about, like her marriage!) and promotes the material. Yeah, her appearances are "festive", but we really aren't dying from missing out. For real. She can have two weeks for this. Heck, she can have a month. Or whatever. Sheesh.

20,235 and 20,233 (20,247) by Alexis from the USA

Martin, thanks for the explanation, that kind of makes me wanna see it. Special K, I'm not married but I can feel where you're coming from. Once I really started to believe this, I got all emotional too and, frankly, felt like eloping. My man is never who I saw myself with, and, like Nick Cannon, people have had way too much to say because of what they assume about him, but I love him and I just felt like "Mariah is so right, just freaking do it, man!" I've been on a little emotional/sentimental high the last few days. I'm not where you are, but I can relate to how happy you are for her.

My thoughts (20,246) by Andre from Canada

Hey Brandon, I have to say that I agree with you. I totally understand what you're saying. I really have no problem or issue with what Mariah does in her personal life. It is just that, personal. Though I must say this wedding certainly has taken me by surprise. I am only interested in her music. Which is why I have to say I don't agree with Bye Bye or Love Story as singles. I would have preferred I Stay In Love as a second single. To me, it is more reminiscent of We Belong Together, and I find ISIL is a better song. I still like Bye Bye as a song, just not a single. Regardless, Mariah will always have my support. I will not give up on her just because she doesn't put out the singles I prefer. As for third and fourth singles, I would love to see I'm That Chick and Migrate (which are killer songs). In any case, I love the album. I am a fan of Janet and Madonna as well and I have to say, E=MC2 is by far the best album of the "divas". Go Mariah.

Bye Bye video is not quite about losing someone (20,245) by Edwards from the U.S.A.

Hi guys. I just watched the Bye Bye video, and it seems to me that most of the video doesn't have anything to do with losing someone special, but more about some Mariah moments. The love story on the video doesn't make sense to me either, since this is not a "Honey" or "Don't Forget About Us" type of song, and evidently she's not losing Nick on the video either. She looks stunning on it though. I hoped the video would get me more into the mood of remembering about my late mother, grandparents, but it failed to do so, since that mood is not quite reflected on the video. But at the end when some pics of people who have died comes on the screen. I think they could've come with a better concept, since this one seems to be kind of repetitive to me. Like "Can't Take That Away" meets "Honey" meets "Mariah signing moments". It's also a cheap video to me. I love Mariah, but this is just my humble opinion on the concept of the video. One Sweet Day video is more simple, but it reflects the premise of the song. I'm still requesting the song and I hope it grows on people. BTW, now I've the feeling that Mariah did get married, but to somebody else, not Nick Cannon. I hope Mariah comes out of the cave she's hiding in, and keep promoting the album, since she has some tough competition this time around. It's not like when TEOM came out.

Re: VeryUpsetfan (20,244) by Angela from San Jose, California

Ah, I could care less who or how many fans agree with you. What I say is what I feel and I'm not looking for validation from no one on this messageboard. Mariah has been giving us her all for 18 years. For a whole freaking month she was busting her butt appearing on any and everything that we can think of tv appearence wise and I think we American fans are forgetting that she was promoting the hell out of this album in UK
