Not just her TEOM voice Bobby even her Caution voice. I hope MC rests and takes things slow. I believe she can sound amazing again as she's proven time and time again.

I don't know if I asked this before so if I did I apologize. What direction do some of you want Mariah to take with the next album? For me I would like more r&b with a touch of pop. Unfortunately r&b is kind of dead right now, most artists are doing pop/adult contemporary. Mariah was able to pull off r&b with Caution so maybe she could do it again but I think she needs something like "Beautiful" or "Dreamlover". I heard Pharrell Williams was contacted by a legendary female artist so I wonder if it was Mariah, Beyonce or someone else? I just hope the next album makes more noise and doesn't have anymore 2 minute songs lol.

Faded / I don't (113,604) by Giovanni from USA
Ugh both these songs deserved better especially "Faded". Production is so good and reminds me of music from 2005/2006 and her belting at the end reminds of her belting on TEOM. "I don't" is actually good too and should have been on Caution but "Faded" is one of my favorites from MIAM along with "Dedicated" and "You don't know what to do".

MOA Imperfect A (113,603) by Lainsky from Philippines
I have developed a new appreciation for this album. It belongs down below my Top 10 ranking or just outside of it among her albums. However, after revisiting and playing it, I created a "fantasy list" of the singles released with "fantasy ranking on the chart, including number of weeks" on the Billboard Hot 100. The live versions of IWTKWLI are better than the album cut. And "Imperfect" should have been included and released as the first or second single. Yes, I allow myself to "daydream" about her songs and albums. It's one of my ways to de-stress myself. Here's my "fantasy MOAIA".

1. Obsessed (No.7)
2. Imperfect (No.1, 13 weeks)
3. Standing O (No.1, 7 weeks)
4. HATE U (No.1, 5 weeks)
5. Up Out My Face (No.4)
6. I Want To Know What Love Is (No.2 or No.1 for a week)
7. More Than Just Friends (Top 40)
8. Inseparable (Top 40)

Just sharing, I also have a fantasy list for her other albums. And yes, it happened in that alter universe.

Penthouse (113,602) by Giovanni from USA
It's so shocking and sad at the same time, that place is so badass and iconic. Her episode of Cribs is probably the best and was my favorite, so many memories there for her I'm sure. I'm gonna miss seeing her walk out and having paparazzi waiting to take pics. Mariah is a superstar in NYC with paparazzi. I am so curious as to who will purchase that luxurious crib.

She had been upgrading that penthouse with the foreknowledge of selling it in the future. You want a return after investing in something for that long. She hasn't been living there for a while. She simply has no need for it, therefore it does not really make sense to keep it, especially if it's a consistent cash drainage and not generating revenue. Liquidating this property is a power move.

Mariah is as smart now as she was then, when she intuitively knew not to give away her publishing for $5K. Same way she knew to cancel something as minor as Rocky's naive Amazon dog order because dem kids already had dogs and everything they could realistically need.

I read her as financially savvy that knows how to 10x her wealth. She likely has stocks, bonds, ETFs, cryptocurrencies, commodities, and liquidated investments most of us are never ever going to be in the loop on. With the scale she operates at, she would have been broke a long time ago if she did not understand how to make money work and compound. The fact she surmounted something as astronomical as a $27 million asset is itself the real flex and honestly pretty freaking impressive.

But to keep the spirit of chill, she recently posted photos from a colossal private yacht migrating to yet another colossal private plane. That does not suggest financial strain. If anything, it strongly suggests the complete opposite.

If MC had at least her TEOM era voice in 2026, she would be recording a new album and getting ready for a tour in 2027. I think she has reached a point with her current voice that we shouldn't expect a full new album or tour anytime soon. Now unless she receives some vocal PT sessions with a vocal coach, we will have to wait to see how she sounds in 2028. Maybe I am wrong and JD is working his magic in the studio pairing his bounce with her current voice. His bounce hasn't been paired with her current voice until this year.

It is probably best for her to put her Tribeca home on the market now for potential summer buyers. Also, MC might be selling her Tribeca home to have some extra cash for the remastering and release of Glitter's 25th anniversary album and Somebody's Ugly Daughter. Virgin and Sony Legacy may be asking MC to contribute to the cost associated with both projects. It has been reported by Nostradamus on X that MC wants to include some extra Glitter goodies for the Lambily.

Lifestyle definitely plays a factor, but wealthy people often take out big loans against homes when they have cash, to free up money without triggering taxes, including capital gains etc, when they sell them on. It's more likely a tax avoidance scheme than a debt management one, but you never know. She does tour way more than you would think she needs to.

Hmm, that could be a reason too. If a new owner buys Mariah's triplex penthouse, he or she really gets some music history on top of that. I guess the penthouse will be easy to sell in NY.

What projects that Mariah has in 2026? She's not scheduling for any residencies or tour. That's where the quick cash comes from. No new album, no acting offers, no product endorsement. Nada. The property is in debt for 18 million and she wanted to sell for 27 million, after all the settlement and deduction like taxes, agents, she would get only a couple of million only.

I just found out that there's a lamb from Australia called Licinio Lisboa. As far as I know, he's a huge collector of Mariah's discography. Does anyone know how can I contact him?

I wonder if it has something to do with the plan to raise property taxes even more in NYC through their new benevolent mayor?

It seems to me that Mariah has been burning through a ton of money just to keep her brand and lifestyle going. People see her massive net worth and assume she's sitting on a mountain of cash, but the reality is her burn rate has always been huge.

If it really costs around $150k-$200k just for her to step out with full glam, security, and staff, imagine what her monthly expenses look like. Between the HOA fees and property taxes at 90 Franklin, she's spending close to $40k a month on just that one place. And that's not even counting the fact that she likely keeps her core team, backup singers, assistants, etc., on retainer so they're always available. That kind of loyalty and availability isn't cheap.

Even her big income streams don't stretch as far as people might think. Her catalog reportedly brings in around $20-$30 million a year, but once you factor in taxes (around 50%) and then another cut for management, legal fees, and business expenses, she's probably left with around $10 million or so in actual spendable cash. And when your lifestyle easily costs a million dollars or more per month, that money disappears quickly. It's basically a luxury version of living paycheck to paycheck, which also explains why she keeps touring and working when, in theory, she should be able to slow down and just enjoy the fruits of her success.

The debt is also a big factor. She's taken out loans against the penthouse, something like $18.6M based on public records, which means she doesn't actually have all that equity. If she sells for around $27M, by the time the loans and broker fees are paid off, she may only walk away with a few million in actual cash.

I don't think she's selling just for fun. She clearly loved that place and made it her own. It seems more like a smart move to downsize and restructure her finances. The math on that lifestyle just doesn't work the same way it used to.

My guess is that Mariah is just bored with the triplex, tired of the expenses related to its upkeep, tired of the trips up and down to the top floor, and maybe wants a place somewhere more peaceful and with more green space. New York has a lot of things going on, but she can always visit but have her home base somewhere more relaxing.

The sale makes sense to me. Mariah has been renting a lot of mansions over the last 10 or so years in Connecticut, the Hamptons, Malibu, Beverly Hills, etc., and she did purchase that mansion in Atlanta before selling a few years later. It doesn't seem like she's been staying in the triplex on a consistent basis.

If I were that rich (I think she still has a lot), I would search for a home with a lot of nature around. With a healthy climate and good air. Not a big city. There you can calm down, relax and be grounded. NYC and Aspen for shoping and dining or for culture wouldn't run away. She could always go there for a trip but then the home otherwhere would give her peace and silence, which is very healthy if you're not a teen. Just some thoughts. Or just rent a smaller apartment in those big cities. So her new home will be Atlanta? Is that official or just a rumour?

The internet is full of speculation regarding her financial situation. Hopefully it's not true, I'm sure she's got people in place to oversee all her finances. Surely with all the touring she's been doing and her back catalogue she is still financially secure. I can't see her going broke, although it's happened to stars before. I am shocked she's selling this property tbh it's always been her baby. Maybe she's got to a point in life where she wants somewhere more quiet for herself and the twins, and also wants a fresh start. Maybe it's something to do with how she's been recently, maybe her health is also driving the decision. Either way I hope she's happy and that she's doing it for herself rather than any financial burden. It's not that long since she remortgaged the property.

Yeah, this is just a difference of opinion. I lived and worked in New York as well and didn't have a great experience. I appreciate its importance culturally and to Mariah, but it's definitely not for everyone and not everyone has to like it.

Watch what you say Butterfly Returns. NYC is full of action and magic. It's alive in a way that it is personified and it feels like you wake up, shower, dine, work and date it. There's a reason why the country is obsessed with it. Hit songs have gone to number one with it. Every New Year's most people welcome resolutions and new beginnings with it. I lived there four years and regret leaving every day. Sorry for the rant webmaster but uh yeah we can't talk bad about the city that gave us MC.

Yeah could maybe be therapy for her too. Moving on as such. She fled there when all her troubles started so this might be a way of letting go and moving forward.
