As a resident artist in Caesars Palace, she frequently puts on a good show. But singer/songwriter Mariah Carey managed to entertain onlookers by simply stepping out, as when proved on Wednesday. The chart-topper, 46, was characteristically sassy while spotted in downtown Hollywood, where she effortlessly commanded attention.
Dressing to impress for the occasion, the mother-of-two oozed glamour in her latest choice of attire. This was centred around a jet black mini-skirt with added slit, which she teamed with a pair of fishnet stockings and strappy shoes. She matched it with a jewel-studded jacket, which shimmered in the glare of the flashbulbs, and a pair of designer sunglasses.
Smiling broadly as she was helped in an out of a waiting vehicle, the chart-topper - who has sold over 200 million records worldwide - looked suitably glitzy. This was helped by her trademark mane, which she wore centre-parted in a cascade of thick curls. In addition, boasting virtually no lines on her face, she appeared much younger than her actual age.
The latest sighting comes shortly after her fans got to see a sneak insight her much-anticipated wedding. The 47-year-old is gearing up for her big day with billionaire businessman James Packer, and a new trailer for Mariah's World shows her trying on wedding dresses and veils.
At one point in the clip, Mariah can be seen looking incredible in a stunning white gown which is covered in silvery sequins, and shows off her curvy figure thanks to a low-cut neckline.
The singer is known for her diva antics, and can't resist playing up to her reputation during a prank call. Mariah is heard on the phone acting like the perfect bridezilla as she demands "white tigers" and "albino elephants" for her nuptials. And the person on the other end of the line doesn't realise that the star isn't quite as much of a diva as she's pretending to be.
"We're going to get Noah's Ark at your wedding. I promise," he insists. Mariah then turns to the camera and says: "If that guy doesn't know that I was joking," and shakes her head.
It seems the Without You hit-maker is quite a fan of prank calls, as at another moment during the promo she is shown putting on a heavy New York accent while on the line with one very confused person. "Hi! It's Pamela, how are you? I'm calling from Mariah's team," she says, before getting a round of applause from her entourage.
While Mariah is seen joking around and spending time with her five-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe, fans also get to see her famous diva side. The trailer begins with Mariah lounging around at home while wearing a black corset, fishnet stockings and heels, along with lashings of diamonds.
"I'd rather like make everything fun," she tells the camera. "Is this a normal outfit for people to wear? I don't know, but I'm at home and this is what I wear."
At another point, a tired Mariah is seen blocking the camera in her hotel, before saying: "I know they always make up stories saying that I want puppies and things delivered... it would be so cute to have puppies here." And as she gets ready for her tour, she says that she needs to know "it's not going to be a piece of dog sh*t".
The iconic singer is hoping that the series will help her fans to see a different side of her, and admits: "I don't think everyone knows anything about me. There is no typical day in Mimi's life." Mariah's World kicks off on E! at 9/8c on Sunday, December 4.
