"I'm the One" is No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and it's not the first time a "one" has been No. 1. We'll go over that one more time. As previously reported, DJ Khaled's "I'm the One", featuring Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper and Lil Wayne, blasts in at No. 1 on the Hot 100 (dated May 20). Among its numerous honors (the first Hot 100 leader for Khaled, Chance the Rapper and, as a soloist, Quavo; only the 28th single ever to debut at No. 1; and, the first No. 1 by five individually credited acts, among other feats), "I'm the One" is also just the 16th Hot 100 No. 1 (of 1,064 total in the chart's 58-year history) with, fittingly, the word "one" in its title.
One... disclaimer: For this research, we're excluding titles featuring the numeral "1", as they've either been descriptive parenthetical additions to a title, such as The Miracles' "Love Machine (Part 1)", or part of other numbers, such as The 4 Seasons' "December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night)" or 50 Cent's "21 Questions", featuring Nate Dogg; in all such cases, the number one was not central to songs' titles.
One... more note: we'll give an honorable mention to Adele's 2011 leader "Someone Like You", as the songs on the list below, like Khaled's new smash, all sport the word "one" by itself, not as part of another word.
Meanwhile, before "I'm the One", the last No. 1 with "one" in its title hit No. 1 one year ago this week: Drake's "One Dance", featuring WizKid and Kyla, took over atop the Hot 100 dated May 21, 2016. (It also finished on Billboard's 2016 Songs of the Summer chart at No. 1.)
