Does Mariah Carey always stick to her 1,500-calorie diet?

Mariah Carey is a gifted singer known for her often over-the-top lifestyle. Her life is far from ordinary - so does she stick to an ordinary diet? Believe it or not, the singer/songwriter consumes 1,500 calories per day, and that includes a glass of wine now and again.

Recent pictures of the mega-star depicted her showing off her toned figure on a yacht in Ponza, Italy. Carey looked absolutely beautiful and carefree during her Italian vacation, where she modelled in a silky lace slip for the camera.

According to Radar Online, Carey does in fact stick to a strict diet. A source tells the site that nothing is going to stop her from achieving the weight loss she wants before her wedding to her fiancé, Australian billionaire James Packer. The source tells Radar that Carey's weight loss comes mostly from her strict diet, and that she barely works out.

In another article from Shape magazine, Carey admits that her diet makes up 90% of her weight loss plan. During the interview, Carey admitted to gaining "an enormous amount of weight" during her pregnancy with her twins, Monroe and Moroccan. After feeling trapped and unhealthy, she decided to take action, and lost 30 pounds in three months!

What did she do? Carey says she started the Jenny Craig program, and part of that involved meeting with a nutritionist to decide how many calories she should be eating per day. She also ate small meals several times per day and worked out three times per week; Carey had to limit her activity after having a Cesarean section. She started by taking long walks with her dogs, and also enjoys water workouts. Finally, Carey says that she didn't look at the scale while trying to lose weight; she just went by how she felt. When her clothes started fitting better than they did before, she knew she was on the right track.

So, Mariah Carey has a reason to flaunt her body while vacationing, and she works hard to maintain it by sticking to a diet plan that works for her. She took some steps to figure out which weight loss plan would be the best fit, and it was a combination of a low-calorie diet, some exercise, and an occasional glass of red wine to keep her going!
