Mariah's Homecoming Special

Less than one week after being named artist of the decade at the Billboard Music Awards, Mariah Carey will star in her own Fox television special airing Tuesday, December 14. The one-hour Mariah Carey’s Homecoming Special is scheduled to air at 9:00PM ET/PT, and includes several special guest performances, including duets with her friends 98 Degrees, Joe, Jay-Z, Da Brat, and DJ Clue.

In the special, the twenty-nine-year-old singer returns to her Long Island, New York home to perform an intimate concert for the students of Oldfield Middle School and Harborfield High School, her alma maters. The concert was shot in October and features Carey performing some of her biggest hits, including "Vision of Love," "Fantasy," "Hero," and "Dreamlover," as well as some tracks from her new album, "Rainbow".

Also included in the special is a behind-the-scenes look at the preparations for her hometown arrival and interviews with the kids. Carey’s latest album, Rainbow, is currently Number Twelve on the Billboard 200 album chart. (Note: the regularly scheduled episode of Fox’s Party of Five will be pre-empted for the Mariah Carey special.)
