Christina Aguilera snubs Westlife

Pint-sized diva Christina Aguilera has furiously refused to team up with Brit boy band Westlife, even though they may be an important step in her career path. Record bosses believe a collaboration would boost Christina in Europe, where she falls far below rival Britney Spears’ superstar status, and give Westlife the US profile that even their teaming up with Mariah Carey couldn't achieve.

However, the animosity between the performers is long-standing - Westlife have blasted Christina several times for her diva-like behaviour at a London club, while the pop babe's spokespeople have countered, "It's bad that a band with so little talent finds it necessary to try to get the press to bad-mouth another artist with real talent."

And not even the chance of cashing in on Westlife's cult UK and European following will change the Lady Marmalade singer's mind - despite personal calls from RCA record bosses and Pop Idol judge Simon Cowell, she's refusing to have anything to do with the lads.

Many thanks to the Australian Mariah Carey Fanclub.
