About Luke from United Kingdom:

Dreamlover 2015 (55,258) by Luke from United Kingdom
I just noticed this but she's singing Dreamlover the same way now as when she sang it at MSG. Atleast at the beginning she is.

Bill (55,232) by Luke from United Kingdom
Lol. Yeah The One and Yours are so much better lyrically. I think it's the high pitched voice in Boy (I Need You) that makes it fun for me, it's so random that I love it haha. I do agree it shouldn't have been a single though.

Is it weird I actually like that song? Haha. I think it's because I remember hearing it when I was younger so it's kinda nostalgic for me.

Song I hate (55,202) by Luke from United Kingdom
That's a good topic Kate. Mine is definitely One Sweet Day. I can't stand that song, although I like the messege behind it I just find it really grates on me. I've tried listening to it a couple of times but it never grows on me which is a shame because the messege is beautiful.

Age and getting hits (55,161) by Luke from United Kingdom
Although I do agree it's harder for an artist to get hits as they get older I don't think it's impossible. Artists younger than Mariah are struggling even at their age which is sad, but I do believe if any older artist is going to gain another hit it will be Mariah. I can listen to various songs by Janet or Madonna and although a lot are good, not many touch me like so many of Mariah's songs do. The thing is, if you write a song and produce it well it can become a hit. Look at We Belong Together, they released that at a point in her career where so many people pushed her aside and considered her finished. That song stayed number 1 for 14 weeks because it face slapped people in the feels. When that happens people will buy regardless of your age. I might be getting my hopes up and she might not be ontop again but I do think if anyone can do it, it's her. Infinity isn't her most personal song but more of a safe option to edge her back into the game. I think she has something planned that's going to go along with the Game Of War ads. I was thinking it would be cool if she went down a war drum-esque sound since those types of games are so popular and shows like Game Of Thrones. Florence & The Machine's new album is a great example of that kinda sound with the use of trumpets (How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful). I think it would sounds fresh, especially for Mariah.

Haha that's ok, my dodgy phone is always making me look like I can't string a sentence together. I like your posts too, as well as most people here. Thinking about it again, a wetsuit is probably the best way to keep your skin from aging. Also, Mariah's recent pic of her in the red dress is amazing. Her body has always seemed really nicely proportioned lol.

Wetsuit (54,825) by Luke from United Kingdom
I have a feeling she might be wearing them now because of aging. UV rays are one of the biggest factors in aging your skin and if it's one thing that will benefit her in this industry it is looking young. People forget about the rest of their skin but it all matters. It's not gonna look good when you have a young fresh face accompanied but a saggy body. People have been sharing photos of her all of social networks of her in that swimsuit costume she wears in her Vegas shows so I really don't think the wetsuits are something to do with her insecurities. It just saves herself from the job of smothering her body is sun protection.

Mariah and James (54,779) by Luke from United Kingdom
I saw someone on instagram give them the nick-name "Maracker". Lol. I thought that was a good one. Hoping they work out for each other. Also hoping for some new juicy inspired music. You know, from love and all that jazz. Cook us something fabulous with that new found romance Mariah.

Billy (54,658) by Luke from United Kingdom
I think that is true in some ways. I lived in America for 3 years and our humour is both different. Not massively but I often had friends over there not understand my humour that I always used with people in the UK and vice versa. On the subject of her not being very popular over here, I think could be because the British tend to like and nurture homegrown talents lol. I know that sounds snobbish but it goes with the whole going to pubs/gigs vibe and supporting people like Adele, Sam Smith, Amy Winehouse, Duffy etc. When I speak about Mariah to my friends they usually just end up saying how they only hear her on throwback stations, which is sad. I live for the day when Mariah is all over the radio and TV with amazing new music haha

I don't think he was saying that she cringed. I believe he said "I remeber interviewing Mariah just after you won the X Factor and I was like, so we've got a singer that's the new you." He then done a sigh expression saying that's what Mariah's done. As if she was saying in her head "What another one?" Which is pretty understandable. I might be the only one who thinks this but I find it a little offensive for someone to say that, like you're old goods and need replacing. The funny thing is, Leona has probably immitated Mariah just like Ariana (If not more). You will find more images of her and Mariah looking alike than her and Whitney. But why would she admit that? She's so original. I don't know if they used to say there is a "new Whitney" when she was alive, but why do they do it with Mariah when she's still here and making music? It isn't like the music from Ariana or Leona is any better. It baffles me.

Game of War (54,570) by Luke from United Kingdom
I don't know if it's going to happen but it's going around that Mariah is going to replace Kate Upton for the Game of War commercials, and her music is going to be the focal point of the ad. I seriously hope this happens since it might mean advertisement for new music.

First time hearing Mariah (54,549) by Luke from United Kingdom
It was when I was about 8 and my sister bought Music Box. I always remember the upbeat songs from that album because she always used to play them. She also used to listen to it on her Sony Walkman CD player paired with her dodgy foam headphones lol. So I used to pinch that when she'd go out and spin around my room listening to it. I almost felt like I was floating while listening to her voice. Especially when I'd listen to Dreamlover.

B (54,537) by Luke from United Kingdom
I agree with you, Frank's music is so fresh yet still has elements of soul. Imagine if she done something along the lines of Pyramids.

No to breaks (54,533) by Luke from United Kingdom
You know what they say "strike while the iron is hot". I think taking a break would drop her off the radar and they would need to start from scratch again. She's got a good momentum going at the minute and hot music would be work well I think.

I don't tend to read your posts because I feel it's usually things you've mentioned before which is fine. What I don't understand is it doesn't seem to be a very happy way to spend your time, worrying about someone you don't know and what they aren't doing right. We all want Mariah to do well but that's up to her. I don't think anyone is trying to change you just give you some advice. However, it is intirely yours and others right to post what you want. Just don't be suprised when you get backlash on a Mariah fan page. If you want to continue to be blunt and straightforward when talking about Mariah then try to do it with kindness and understanding when talking with others. We're all equal and nobody here is in a higher position than the anyone.

New music (54,482) by Luke from United Kingdom
I wonder what they have planned? They couldn't record a full album inbetween now and her next set of shows unless the album has been ready for a while, so could it be a new single? YDKWTD was amazing and could have been a summer hit, it would be cool if they do something like that again or Meteorite. Those songs are the ones I listen to the most from that album. Because of those songs I found the originals that they sampled from and fell in love with those as well. Either way I don't mind what she does, I'm just excited. Can we just appreciate that she's making new music already? Her persistence in proving everyone wrong is inspirational. Also, I don't know how some people keep seeing the "deterioration" of her voice when it's been improving at a fast rate and so has her confidence. I honestly think some people just have a hard time of breaking the habit of finding something negative in every situation.

Ardis / photoshoot (54,446) by Luke from United Kingdom
I love it too. It's a new type of freedom when you don't take things personally. I wonder what type of photoshoot she's had might have had done, imagine if she done something like her really edgy photoshoot she done for Vogue.

Confrontation (54,430) by Luke from United Kingdom
None of us are clearly ever going to completely agree with eachother. But why does it get so catty that we end up trying to best the other person in a childish way? I'm going to leave this quote here. "Don't take anything personally. Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering." - Miguel Ruiz

Baby (54,393) by Luke from United Kingdom
I love your posts. Aren't we as fans supposed to support Mariah? Warts and all? Of course she isn't perfect but why do so many of her fans insist on constantly pointing out every imperfection she has, calling it "constructive criticism" when it's the same bull just repeated in another sentence? I don't even mind the fun discussions on what she could do differently to improve but there is a line where it just become bashing. Shouldn't Mariah's work since 2001 speak for itself and not a 3 minute video from a long lost brother? Things haven't been smooth for the last couple of years but nothing has pointed to her being stupidly unstable. Whitney's issues were constanty evident for years. Like I said before, her children would not be able to travel the world with a high risk mother like Morgan (and even some fans) are suggesting she is.

Morgan's article (54,272) by Luke from United Kingdom
I've also noticed that what he said hasn't actually spread that much in terms of social media. It's really hard (for me anyway) to actually find the video source and it's not showing up much on twitter. A year ago something like this would have been circulating for days. Hopefully the Sony management have a good clean up system. Anyway, there's no such thing as bad publicity.

Mariah the bipolar, drug addict of Vegas, lady of the booze (54,252) by Luke from United Kingdom
So Morgan was filmed spreading personal imformation (probably false) about his own flesh and blood. Who is the one with half a billion sitting in there bank? The one achieving goals 25 years into her career? She's confidently taking the bull by the horns this year and she means business. Her ability to carry on smiling when so many that are supposed to be close to her are fighting to bring her down, is incredibly admirable.

Morgan (54,178) by Luke from United Kingdom
If you believe what was said (if he even said it), then you have no idea what an alcoholic or addict is. Her voice wouldn't be improving like it has been, I doubt Ceasers or Sony would agree to sign a contract with a drug addicted alcoholic and I don't think her children would be allowed to spend the majority of their time with a disfunctional mother. The fact that she's okay having a little drink with interviewers in the evening shows that she's far from being an alcoholic. It's when they're smashed in the morning and adamant they have never been drinking that you should start worrying. As far as having a stripped down interview, it wouldn't hurt but the tabloids are always going to be saying stuff like this. Remember that it's not just her they do it too though.

Video (54,087) by Luke from United Kingdom
I have to admit on first watch it seemed a bit scattered but that was on my iPhone lol. After watching it on my computer I liked it more. I did think they were going to have more storyline and keep the stage scenes for the end climax. It is a stride in the right direction though. I wonder if the whole process of moving to Sony, whipping up a new single, recording that single, then planning Vegas and a music video cause the video to become a last minute thing. I like it though, it could be worse haha. It kinda reminds me of a fancy version of the Forever music video.

Beyonce (54,024) by Luke from United Kingdom
Since we're on the subject of Beyonce, her sister is much more interesting and I listen to Solange's music so much more. Her voice is softer and easier on the ears. Unlike Beyonce, Solange keeps to a singing level that fits her voice and doesn't try to show off. I always think this is a smarter move if your range isn't that big as it compliments the music. I'd love to hear MC's and Solange's voices together, plus Mariah recently retweeted her.

Merry Christmas (53,958) by Luke from United Kingdom
I think it might be fun. It's obvious Christmas is the biggest time of year for her, so it might be good to have an exciting reinvention type album for people to pick up at her shows. We don't know how they're going to build the album so let's not jump to conclusions. If they do it right with all new music videos and different arrangements it could be great. I think what they're doing is making her noticeable again since a lot of people have simply forgotten her and her music. Once they've reminded everyone that's when a new album will come. If they just dropped one now chances are it would just be another MIAM.
