About Gee from U.S.A. (New York City): Me and Mariah go back like babies on pacifiers.

Wow (89,434) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
One of Mariah's toughest critics on this message board is singing her praises today. Wow it is really a good day when Andrew is happy with MC. But honestly speaking she really did herself and all of fans and supporters proud, she really showed up, and showed out and proved once again that she is truly still one of the greatest to ever do it. Once again Mariah Carey congratulations on your BBMA icon honor you have definitely earned it, and you deserve all the blessings and flowers coming your way.

BBMA (89,423) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Mariah, thank you for all that you have given us, you have truly earned the right to [be] called an icon. I have to say even though she struggled in parts, she still managed to push through and bring it home. Her speech was warm, heartfelt, and honest, it was a moment for not just us as fans but to everyone who has to overcome or felt lost. Mariah truly shined and to see the younger audience embrace her the way that they did was amazing. This was a great moment and I am glad that I was able to have the experience. Also Monroe was truly proud of her mom, and Rocky was Mr. Cool. But overall I enjoyed the moment.

The original or the remix (89,365) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Personally I prefer the ISB (Pure Imagination remix). I prefer The Angel prelude to Angels Cry.

Before I let go (89,364) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
I appreciate Beyoncé for covering a classic but the original will always be superior in my opinion. Robert-Anthony why should MC all of sudden change her sound to fit a mode than she will be criticized for following a trend and trying to current. At this point she at an age where she does not appeal to average top 40 audience which is considered 18-34 so radio would give her a hard time either way. On top of that she made an album that sounds current but it is still classic MC as it should be. I am glad she sticks making music that she loves because she has already broken so many chart records that many pop stars today can only wish they see 1/3 of her success. Also if MC wanted to make a trap pop album she definitely could but she loves R&B or the contemporary R&B sounds so she stays in that lane.

Mariah's memoirs (89,303) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
I just want her to be raw and candid about what really caused her divorce from Nick. Give us in depth account of what caused the changes in her voice. What was really going on during both the Glitter era and the three year nightmare of the Stella era. I also would like to know what really happened between her and Walter. I also would like an inside look into her creative process with certain eras and songs. I would also like to know what know the truth behind what really happened between her Tommy because she always been so vague. I also would like to know what caused her and Big Jim to stop working together. Also I want to dive into her personal life openly. But whatever it is she would like to share with us I am open to read it as long as it is real, honest, and candid.

The voices Mariah and Whitney (89,294) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Both Whitney and Mariah have blessed the world with their incredible instruments. Whitney had a raw power and confidence in her voice that still remains unmatched. Mariah has a range that could play along with her power which makes both of their voices godly. But Whitney could command a stage with her voice like no other and that is where Mariah needed strength but during her prime her voice was out of this world. As artists Mariah is the benchmark between the two her catalog is more versatile Whitney left us a strong catalog as well but it seems one note. But if I have to go off just voice alone Whitney wins in the category of power and rawness. Mariah wins when it comes to range and musicality in my opinion while I appreciate both ladies in their primes Whitney was a little more discipline and stronger but overall for me I prefer Mariah more.

Dennis (89,262) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
I did not take your post as you were trying to bash Tommy at all. My point was that Mariah was trying to make the masses aware of the sabotage going on behind the scenes starting with the Butterfly era because the label wanted to keep her boxed in as far as her artistry and image. Tommy just confirmed that she was right from that piece in his book from what I got. I understand the labels position as well why mess up the formula of success but I am glad MC decided to take the risk and create Butterfly because in my opinion Mariah the artist was born.

Dennis (89,248) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Thanks for that, based on post in regards to MHWGO and WYB and Mariah's relationship with Sony post Daydream helps me put a lot of things into better perspective. When Mariah was talking about not getting the support and push from the label during that up until she left her claims were dismissed and she was labeled many things but for Tommy himself to admit that shady things were going on behind the scenes speaks volumes to me I don't know about anyone else.

The queen (89,244) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Personally I feel like Mariah is the queen of song because she can create amazing melodies, she is capable of writing brilliant lyrics and she can grab you in four minutes and mesmerize you with a killer combination of an amazing intro, a killer bridge, and an ending that makes you want more. Her gift to create songs are truly amazing and unparalleled.

Adele (89,243) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
I believe that whether she split from her husband or not she was going to ride the wave of her winning formula because it has helped bring her success beyond her comprehension. Also, she is in a lane all by herself and she is winning. I am certain Columbia is not going to allow her to mess with her winning formula, she is going to ride this formula until she can not benefit from it anymore. The masses will definitely pay very close attention to the new album based off of curiosity alone to see if she will talk about the breakdown of her marriage.

Veteran artists (89,212) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
I totally disagree with the writers assessment that tours should be a mix of an artists catalog. Personally this writer would be more interested in the Vegas residency as it focuses on the hits mainly. Personally I feel this tour was the true fan experience from the setlist standpoint and it was a home run in my opinion. I just feel like an artist should not be stifled creatively to appease critics or casual listeners.

Look (89,191) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Personally I feel MC needs to wear something that is comfortable and allows her to move with ease, but since we all know that MC loves to play into the diva persona she will wear something very dramatic with heels where she cannot move much which will make her stiff and uncomfortable on stage. I just want everything to go smoothly and want the masses to be reminded that MC is still a major player in the entertainment industry. Hopefully MC and her team are putting together the best presentation possible.

Promotion (89,152) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
This award highlights her Billboard accolades and achievements so displaying her stats is not a bad idea. They have done this with all the previous honorees as well. We can never change history so why should we downplay MC's achievements because of how it looks or how it's perceived. She has earned her accomplishments and they should be respected and celebrated accordingly. Just my thoughts.

Awards (89,146) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
This major awards are given to anyone that whatever committee feels will bring and attract more attention and viewership, basically if it was based on merit and achievement JLo is the least qualified musically speaking out of all the previous honorees. Honestly speaking we as fans and supporters of MC should be happy that she is finally getting her gifts while she is still here to receive them. As far as the medley Fantasy must be included as it was the birth of the hip-pop formula as we know it today.

Matty / How singles are chosen (89,123) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
I agree with your choices for the E=MC2 era. All of these songs were very radio friendly and it definitely would have broken the mold of always releasing the uptempo/mid tempo/ ballad formula. I think that formula would have been a great success.

Lara (89,115) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
This performance will be a medley of her greatest hits and probably one new song if anything she would probably do the album version of ANN if she decides to perform it.

Shezz (89,114) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
For me there is no debate at all, my friend Mariah has been overlooked one too many times for prestigious awards that she is more than deserving of. My comment regarding flaws is based on how she is treated for just being herself.

2019 BBMA Icon award (89,106) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
This award definitely deserved despite her flaws and everything in between you can never deny what she means and has brought to pop culture, and music. MC is definitely the embodiment of what this award signifies. Congratulations MC you are definitely an icon and please accept this award with pride, and grace.

Lil Kim/Cardi (89,083) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
This all started with MC saying that she would love to work with them there was never an official confirmation in place and JD tried to hype fans because his ego was obviously bruised because none of this production was featured on Caution he only received associate producer credit on ANN as Shea Taylor is actual producer JD was hoping to produce a remix so that he can get acknowledgement and credit for something.

The Dream (89,082) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
He has his lane but honestly his sound gets stale very quickly. Which in my opinion kills Memoirs in my humble opinion the same production.

Jaker20 (89,072) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
During E=MC2 era Mariah also fought for "Touch my body" to be the lead single, she wanted to follow-up TMB with Migrate but the label and LA Reid decided that Bye Bye should be the official second single. Honestly E=MC2 was an album geared towards radio friendly songs and that was direction I believe MC was going in for this particular era to capitalize on radio embracing her music again during TEOM era.
