This is the last time I will mention him, after this post he doesn't exist. I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt but he just proved me wrong. He is not a nice person. He doesn't respect Mariah, if he did he wouldn't be talking about making her hit the high notes in his lame song, or talking about her at all. Everyone knows she hates her private life being made public. He can't stand that she'll always be the one people are interested in and not him. It seems like he tries to trip her up whenever she's about to do something big. She does look a lot happier and more focused now that's he's out of the picture and I'm glad for her. He probably hopes their names will always be linked together but he doesn't have any actual talent. In a few years he'll be a nobody like Kevin Federline, and Madonna and Judy Garland and all of the iconic star's ex husbands. He's not even divorced yet but is already posting pictures with the woman rumored to be his mistress. Bad move, nobody likes a homewrecker. Ask LeAnne Rimes. The reason he took all those jobs is because there was a prenup and he was trying to get a return on his investment in any way he could. What a jerk for leaving her alone all those years knowing she has abandonment issues. He's not even worth the thought or time I'm wasting typing this. End rant.

Edward / show / Abraham (49,395)
by Dove from USA

Thanks Edward. I'll try not to be so sensitive. I really do appreciate having somewhere to share my ideas. I suspect my friends and family get tired of listening to me talk about MC all the time (because they always change the subject). I just had another idea: instead of a movie about her life, how about a show based on her life? Something like The Carrie Diaries meets Everybody Hates Chris. It can start when she's in high school. She can tell stories to writers and they can write the episodes. She would need to get really good (clever/funny) writers though, so that it can keep going for enough seasons to tell her life. Maybe Amazon Prime or Netflix would buy it. Abraham I love that song, especially the version with Babyface. When I was watching the Deborah Cox video yesterday, that video was a suggested video and I thought "Mariah would have sung that song so well, it almost sounds like her." I don't think she should cover it (it would be too similar to the original), but she definitely could have pulled it off.

That was totally me too, still is. In 8th grade I dyed my hair the dark strawberry blonde she has in the ABMB video. My hair is naturally curly, like hers, so I would only straighten the front like she does in Fantasy and OSD. I kept that style for about three years until I finally learned how to straighten it.

Lifetime's Whitney movie (49,388)
by Dove from USA
| |
|
|
I didn't watch it but I want to. Was it good? I saw people were posting about it on Twitter and Facebook. People were posting that there should be a movie about Mariah and I think so too. Why do we have to wait for someone to die to celebrate them? I expect Mariah to live a long, healthy, and happy life. I know she had said in interviews that she didn't think she would live a long time. I believe sometimes we can intuit these types of things, but if her destiny was to leave this plane early, I think her destiny changed when she had her babies and now she's going to stick around for a long, long time. If the movie is made while she is living, she can give approval and choose the actors. Darryle (49,377) I watched that video and wow. Thank you for sharing. That was amazing to watch and I like it more than Around The World.

Fan fiction (49,386)

I'm posting this here because it's been on my mind since I posted my hypothetical duets list and it won't leave my mind. I hadn't posted it because I don't want people getting mad at me but I'm going to chance it. I need to unload it and no one in my real life would appreciate it or get excited about it. Here, at least one person might. Okay, so I'm honestly not a fan of Jenifer Lopez's music. I bought On The 6 when it came out because I'm a big fan of Selena and she played Selena. I am a chick, though, so I like her movies. I think she's a beautiful woman (but when Mariah tries I think MC is the most beautiful and I'm not just saying that). JLo seems like a genuinely nice person. Maybe she didn't know TM was using her to get back at MC. Putting them together will definitely make people talk so it's a chance to make lemonade. I made a playlist of my duets and have been listening to them trying to imagine what they would sound like and look like in a video. For Migrate I paired MC with Beyonce. So I was imagining them making an entrance into a Las Vegas club together and Jennifer Lopez and Gwen Stefani are already there waiting for them in the VIP section, so they join them. There can be scenes of them dancing, drinking, having fun and then they migrate somewhere else, maybe to the casino to gamble. I know they're older but older people still like to look good and have fun. It can be like the posse from Sex And The City or Desperate Housewives. It's exciting seeing good looking famous people together. Oh and there can also be video footage of Beyonce, Gwen, and Jennifer arriving on a private jet to see Britney and MC in concert. The party can start at the concert when they're helping her choose an outfit to perform in for the concert and then later cheering her on in the front row of her concert.

Giorgio Moroder (49,378)
by Dove from USA

I woke up with the songs of Hot Stuff and Heart Of Glass on my mind, then I went on Twitter and saw that Giorgio Moroder is doing an album with contributers. Wouldn't it be cool if he redid YDKWTD and Meteorite, or a new song for his album?

Sometimes I feel like I'm biased, because I like every Mariah song, but everyone who listened to #Beautiful at my house or in my car liked it. I don't think the song was the problem. I like You're Mine (Eternal) a lot on the album, but I agree with you in that I don't think it should have been a single. I think Thirsty should have been the second (or first) single. I like YDKWTD but I don't think it would have done well if it was released first. If she wants to do disco she needs to go to Giorgio Moroder. When you hear a Donna Summer song, you can feel it, it makes you stop everything you're doing because you need to dance. YDKWTD had potential, but it didn't go all the way, I didn't feel it. The problem was the music/production not her vocals. Her vocals were perfect. That's just my opinion.

I think this is the version of Nobody's Supposed To Be Here you're talking about. When I was listening to the studio version, in my mind I could hear Mariah singing it in her '98 raspy voice. The way she sounded when she sang If Only You Knew/Somewhere Over the Rainbow. I would like to hear Mariah sing more up tempo dance tracks. In this video, Deborah Cox wasn't doing any choreographed dance movements, but her body was open and loose and it still looked good.

I'm probably just being overly sensitive. In my first post to you, it does seem like I'm attacking you, and I'm sorry about that. Most of the time I don't let things get to me but sometimes they still do. I can't honestly say that I've never been rude to anyone on here so it's totally okay. I'm sorry, too, for attacking you.

Thank you Abraham. I think I have heard Nobody's Supposed To Be Here by Deborah Cox but I'm thinking it was before 2003. I remember hearing it at a car wash in Junior High, if it's the one I'm thinking. I'll look it up when I get home. I've discovered a lot of good music through you guys. Somebody mentioned Sam Smith a while ago and I liked him, the Diana Ross songs someone mentioned I liked.

More on that (49,354)

I just think that if you have enough of a problem to say something, the polite thing is to address the offender so that they can defend themselves. It's rude to make snide remarks and it can make people feel bad. When people cut me down for things I share, it takes the joy out of coming here, and sometimes it makes me feel ashamed, like I'm saying something bad. I expect sarcastic comments on comment sections of blogs and articles but not on a fansite.

That was obviously directed at me so you should have directed it to me instead of talking about me like I don't visit this message board every day. Making a list of songs I'd like to hear her sing doesn't mean I think she's "basic". I've been a fan for a long time and have been collecting songs I'd like to hear her sing the whole time. I'm not throwing anything at her, it's not likely that she'll come on here, see my long list, and record every song on it. She hardly does covers as it is. It's a fantasy wish list that I'm sharing with other fans. I like reading lists made by other fans, sometimes I've never heard some of the songs people list, I look them up and try to imagine MC singing them. Some people don't like lists and that's fine. You can tell by glancing if it's a list or not so just don't read it. It's not like I post them every day. Your abrasive attitude is not attractive.

Dream duets (49,340)
by Dove from USA
| |
|
|
I just read my dream duets list again and just to be clear, some of those I wasn't serious. I like all of the songs but couldn't think of anyone to duet with so I just started being "funny". I don't really listen to Madonna, or Eminem (except for Lose Yourself) so I don't even know if they would match. Nick Cannon I was half kidding and I'm sure she could find someone better than Ariana to duet with. Maybe Kelly Clarkson. Obviously I was kidding about Jennifer Lopez. I did that list quick and couldn't think of anyone so I was just being dumb. I do like the songs though.

Covers album (49,338)
by Dove from USA
| |
|
|
Somewhere down the line, I would also like an album of covers. I know MC doesn't like singing other people's songs, but I like hearing her sing different styles and I don't think I'm alone. Thank you for letting me share my ideas on here guys. Her songs, even though they're great and different, they have her unique signature. When she sings covers it's like she's going into someone else's skin. When Do the Bells Ring For Me came on my playlist this morning and I was wowed by the soothing and understated beauty of it. I love when she does the vocal acrobatics but I also love her low key voice. Here's my list: We Are the Champions - Queen Time - Pink Floyd Live and Let Die - Paul McCartney With or Without You - U2 Good Vibrations - The Beach Boys Bridge Over Troubled Water - Simon and Garfunkel At My Most Beautiful - REM Ordinary World - Duran Duran Waltz (Better Than Fine) - Fiona Apple Love Someone - Jason Mraz Magic- Colbie Caillat (or something like it, sung in that register) End of the Road - Boyz II Men Stand By Me - Ben E. King Always and Forever - Heatwave Three Little Birds - Bob Marley Somewhere Over the Rainbow Please Send Me Someone to Love (I don't know who sings this have only heard Fiona Apple's version) Embraceable You What A Wonderful World Young at Heart - Frank Sinatra They Can't Take That Away From Me - F. Sinatra Smile - Nat King Cole You and I - Stevie Wonder And of course (Ardis) anything by Aretha, Pattie LaBelle, and Nina Simone.

Ardis / dream duets album (49,337)
by Dove from USA
| |
|
|
My list is almost exactly lile Orkun's (49,286). The new verses have to fit the original storyline of the song; the different stories in BGK were so distracting. 01. Migrate - Beyonce 02. Cruise Control - Gwen Stefani 03. X-Girlfriend - Britney Spears (as the ex, telling her side) 04. Standing O - Madonna 05. Thirsty - Nick Cannon rapping (everyone thinks it's about him anyway, might as well go with it) 06. Outside - lead singer from the Fray 07. You Need Me - Jessie J 08. More than Just Friends - Babyface 09. When I Saw You 10. Everything Fades Away 11. You're So Cold - Adele 12. After Tonight - Bruno Mars 13. Circles - Ariana Grande 14. Now That I Know - 5th Harmony (harmonizing Motownphilly style) 15. Yours - Justin Timberlake maybe 16. If We - I don't think she would do it but wouldn't it be a scandal if she did it with Jennifer Lopez? 17. How Am I Supposed To Live - M. Bolton (if it sounds good) 18. Clown - only if it's with Eminem I'm okay with cut and pasting as long as the producer/engineer knows what they're doing and it sounds flawless. The bonus duets on MIAMTEC are not done well, but the songs on the Elvis Presley Christmas Duets album sound really good, so I know it can be done. I think it's okay to use existing vocal tracks that are already flawless, if it sounds organic. Her voice has changed with every era and I want to be able to still hear those different tones and textures in her voice.

Duets (49,297)
by Dove from USA
| |
|
|
I like the idea of the duets album but not with her biggest hits. I agree with Orkun that it should be obscure album cuts that should have been hits. I want for casual fans to discover new gems in Mariah's catalog and for lambs to rediscover them. I'm putting in my wish list right now of duet partners: Kelly Clarkson, Bruno Mars, and Agh. Maybe I'm reaching too far but I want duets with: Paul McCartney, Robert Plant, Jason Mraz, Fiona Apple, Brian Wilson, and U2. With new songs co-written with Mariah. Just the thought of that. Imagine the new sounds. I know she also needs to include newer artists to get the younger audience, but there could be some legends on there too. Everyone is struggling right now so I think it's a good chance to request experimentation from these big names.

#1's (49,295)
by Dove from USA
| |
|
|
For the updated #1's, I like the idea of just the studio versions on it for newer listeners who only want a compilation album. Whenever You Call with Brian McKnight can be added as a bonus track to Butterfly and the first #1s can stop being sold. I also want a separate live album of the number #1s later on in the year that comes with a CD of the songs live and a DVD of her performing them. Or maybe all three discs can be sold together for $20.

New single (49,294)
by Dove from USA
| |
|
|
If there is no single, how are we going to get more #1s? Maybe a single can be released the same day the album is released? Do album sales go towards single sales? I think her singles flopped at her former record label because they weren't too invested in her anymore. #Beautiful, Thirsty, and MILG were all good enough to be, and should have been #1s. Maybe if there is a single, this time it will be heavily promoted on radio and TV with a really good video and live performances. People need to see that she can still sing. Someone can record her singing it live (like a sound check) at the Colosseum and post it on social networking sites. I wish the Ellen interview would have been longer so that people could see how cool, sweet, and funny she is. We need some TV specials.
