Nick / Treat her like a lady (46,564)
by Abraham from USA

|

If Nick cheated on Mariah that's messed up. Mariah is gorgeous, but the most important thing is that they had children together. That model has nothing on Mariah, I don't care if she is younger. No competition, sorry. Mariah was looking absolutely stunning around the time she shot the video for "Beautiful". Not just her body but her face. She looked younger than 44. But then her shoulder injury happened and that's when you gained weight from the medications. Mariah still beautiful thick though. With all that happened with Nick and the album flopping. Wouldn't it be amazing if Mariah came back strong with a song like "Treat her like a lady"? It's perfect and so appropriate for Mariah. She should really try and do a song like that. If any of you don't know it, please look it up. It's from Celine Dion. I have faith that even with the divorce. Mariah is going to release a hit album. Let's continue to support and believe in her.

The media on Mariah (46,556)

It's so annoying and upsetting when people are so quick to jump and attack Mariah when's she's going through a hard time. I don't know if any of you know but first it was one of the men from The Breakfast Club that had made a remark, saying that Mariah hasn't sold an album since the 90's. It's funny because when she was there for the interview he was all kissing her ass. She's goes out of her way to do an interview and that's the thanks she gets. Then the people from TMZ, they were talking and some what making fun of her, what she wore and "Glitter". But they were just mad and pressed that Mariah basically ignored and dismissed their lame asses. She gave them diva Mimi/I don't have time for you losers way and I was all here for it. I was like "Yes Mariah, keep on walking." She doesn't owe them anything. I've never watch TMZ, but after seeing that clip on YouTube, I couldn't believe they'd be talking about a legend like that. They're a bunch of snakes. So glad Mariah did what she did.

Thoughts (46,531)

Whether Mariah is planning on re releasing "MIAMTEC" or is working on another album. (Which I'm hoping she is.) I'd like to give my thoughts for an album. Mimi L gave some good suggestions. Mine are basically almost the same. Mariah did great with "Beautiful". To me it's different, but still sounds classic. Like "Dreamlover" or something from "Music Box". So I think she should definitely work with Happy Perez again. Sia and Pharell are other producers to consider. I think Sia and Mariah could come up with something great. I agree that Mariah should record songs with artists that are relevant as now. (No shade to Nas, Miguel, Whale or Fabulous.) I love their work on those 4 songs. I'd rather have male featured artists than females. Like Bruno Mars, Usher, John Legend, Maxwell, Justin Timberlake, Robin Thicke. R Kelly especially. Or even an older artist, like Stevie Wonder. But I guess a song with a female artist wouldn't hurt. As for a first single. A fun, up tempo or ballad song. But an MJ or WH cover would be great. Preferably "You are not alone" and "You give good love/Take good care of my heart". As for videos, Mariah can do what she wants. I just care about the music.

Wow, how cool is that if Mariah or her team have been reading the messageboard? If it's true. I'd like to let her know that I love the album and that I still believe in her success. "Beautiful" is one of the best songs she's ever recorded. It showcases how amazing her voice is. Mariah please take better care of your voice. I hope you are doing fine. Continue to make good music. You're still the best talent and voice in the music indusrty.

I still believe (46,480)

Does anyone else love this song? I know Mariah didn't write it but it's one of my favorites. I love the music, lyrics and how her voice sounds. If I'm wrong, I think the song reached at number 4 on the Billboard. Too bad, if "I still believe" and "Beautiful" had made it to number 1 Mariah would have 20 number ones. But it's okay because I still believe.

I'd also want Mariah to cover the song. "You are not alone" is one of my favorite songs from MJ. I like the lyrics and music. Mariah would definitely do a good job. If she were to cover it, I think it should be the last song on the album. Beause I think it would end the album nicely.

If you feel the end of Mariah's career is near, that's you. She doesn't need people like you trying to bring her down. Especially now, thankfully she has fans who still believe in her. She's surely capable of having at least one more good successful era.

Maybe for you, I completely disagree, I don't think Mariah's career is over. Did you forget that "Beautiful" made it to number 15 and would have no doubt went to number one. The numerous times the album got pushed back is what caused the album to flop. It definitely would have sold a lot more. I think "a real fan" supports and believes in their artist. Just because her album flopped you think she's done. As for her voice, I believe her voice has been damaged from lack of rest and drinking. I bet if she rested her voice she could sing so much better. So I'm gonna need you to not be so negative. So many people underestimate Mariah and what she can do. Her music may not be as great as it used to be, but this new album was a good start. No way is she over.

I've watched that performance like 3 times this week. It's one of my favorite performances. My all time favorite performance is from '05 at the BET blueprint where she sang "Vision of love". She had so much energy and was confident. I know Lorde and Taylor Swift, but don't listen to them. But I think they're okay. With everything that's going on in Mariah's life, I wish her the best. Like you stated in one of your posts. I too want another successful era. Something tells me that she's going to bring it with the next album (hopefully). Let's just wait and see. It's going to be interesting what she is going to name the album now with what is happening with her and Nick. I actually like the "MIAMTEC" album title and cover.

Nick / thoughts (46,312)
by Abraham from USA
| |
|

Why would Nick want more kids if he'd never be home to enjoy them? And I doubt he said anything about Mariah's body. Didn't he once say that he loved her curves? He did, and though Mariah has gained weight this year, that shouldn't even be a reason. When you love someone you love them for who they are. Mariah has always had an amazing figure. One of the two things I wish would happen would be. Mariah sings better than ever. And that her next album is a lot more successful with the possibility of getting her her 19th number one.

Thank you, I'm glad you liked the songs. I love "Love is on the way". It would have been cool if Mariah had at least sang it live. I think preferably in 1997. Her voice that era was amazing. By any chance, have you seen Mariah's performance at the Essence Awards back in '98? She sang "If only you knew/Somewhere over the rainbow". I love that performance and think she did great. I like and respect Patti Labelle for her love and admiration for Mariah. She's complimented Mariah's voice and how much she loves it. Also, now that I bring Patti up. I'd say that I would have liked Mariah to have recorded "If only you knew". I know "First time ever I saw your face" and could definitely hear Mariah singing it. I've heard Leona's cover and think it's good. I like her, she also admires Mariah. The female music artists who I think have good voices are Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis, Ariana Grande and Lady gaga. As well as Joss Stone. I wish wish I could get a tv special like "Divas live" with all the ones who I listed with Mariah of course. All singing together, and them honoring her. And I apologize for my post being long.

I too would have liked Mariah to have had the song "Why oh why". It's a good r&b song. I think all the producers who worked on the "Let's talk about love" album were good. I wonder if they wrote or worked for anyone else? I also would have liked Mariah to have had "Just a little bit of love". It's good to know others want Mariah to cover "You give good love" as a tribute to Whitney. I think she would do a good job. Weren't there rumors about her covering a WH or MJ song for an album? KeShawn, I like your dream covers and ideas. However I would never want to see Mariah smoking. It will ruin a singer's voice. Plus it takes a toll on your looks. Shelly, I like your list as well and I agree with everything you said. I too would be devastated if Mariah were to fall back down again. She really took it hard with Luis Miguel, but I think now that she has kids. They will help keep her strong. I think she's a stronger woman now. But still, hope she is doing okay. I hope she hits it big with her next album.

Problem after problem (46,216)
by Abraham from USA

Wow, 2014 has not been Mariah's year. First her shoulder injury. (And by the way, so thankful she's okay.) Issues with her record company, Nick. Releases a great album but tanks. And now is dealing with a divorce. I feel right now she should just worry about her kids and career. I did like Nick but got annoyed with his ranting and explicit details about their personal life. And I was so shocked to know he slept with Kim K. She's not even pretty. He really hit it big with Mariah. She's a good person (though I know she's not perfect and has her diva ways) and is beautiful. Mariah no doubt has been the best looking female he's had. I can't say who's in the wrong or who's at fault cause it's not my place. And because I don't know the reasons I just hope they stay on good terms for their children. I agree about what someone posted about how Mariah does best alone. Hopefully she hits it big with her next album. I hope she will be happy again someday, but in all honesty. I just care for her health and success. It seems like Nick is doing fine. I saw the video of him doing the ice bucket challenge.

Who should win? (46,169)
by Abraham from USA
| |
|
|
I personally think Mariah deserves to win. She was (and still is) the best female singer of the 90's and scored the most number ones out of anyone. I think we should celebrate when she gets her 19th number one. (If that happens, which I hope it does.) Sounds silly I know but 18 number ones is amazing and quite an accomplishment. I'm proud of her. I really hoped "Beautiful" would have been her next number one.

Nick and Mariah / 90's pop icon (46,167)
by Abraham from USA
| |
|

Anbody watch ET? They talked about Mariah and Nick possibly getting a divorce. I'm hoping it's not true because that would be sad. It is something how both haven't taken a pic together. It's only been one of the other with the kids. I don't know what's up. I casted my vote for the 90's pop icon. And hope the rest of you will too, though I'm not telling anyone who they should vote for. Just saying, to vote. It'll be interesting to see who wins, there's a lot of competition. You have Michael Jackson, Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers. I'm assuming that The Spice Girls will have the lowest votes. I didn't even have to think or hesitate when voting. Obviously I'm gonna go with my favorite female singer. The 90's was Mariah's decade.

You're so funny. Otti, great post. I agree, people should give Mariah a break and let her do and handle things her way. Fans should just continue to support her and hope for the best. Not having any hard feelings or being disappointed just because she didn't make anymore videos. Everything you stated was on point. It's nice to see someone who isn't so critical or on Mariah's back for her decisions or faults. Who is anyone to be questioning her on how she wants to handle her life or career? I know fans want the best for her, but why brag or complain about something that's over and done with.

Girl please. I'm so tired of people whining and complaining about Mariah. "Where are the videos, promotion?" There are none. This album was just for the fans. It upsets me when people bash or call her names(lazy). She has a life outside music you know. Right now it's all about the next one. And I'm sure it's already in the works. I respect however Mariah decided to go through with the album. Obviously she wants to start fresh. If she hadn't released it, people would be whining. Now that she did, people are disappointed. Just because she didn't shoot any videos. Give me a break.

I brought her up to make a point and to explain and give my thoughts on the situation, which in my opinion, is no big deal. I know a lot of people(both men and women) who loved Mariah and who like Ariana and they were turned off by Mariah and what she said in that interview. They don't like her anymore, and didn't buy her album. But oh well, that's them. I stand by Mariah, however, by you thinking that working 4 years on an album doesn't count as hard work. Hilarious.

No, no, no. The only reason I would not want Mariah to tour is because of her voice. It has nothing to do with her attitude, lack of work or where she is now. Mariah's diva antics don't bother me that much. And she's done nothing that has turned me off or not love or respect her any less. The little shade she threw at Ariana in that Breakfast Club interview was nothing. She wished her the best and longevity. Which was more than enough. I don't see any reflections of Mariah in Ariana what so ever. Other than the whistle register. I think Ariana is a beautiful, talented young women. But I don't think she's on Mariah's level. And lack of work you say? I hope you are referring about the promotion. Because Mariah did work hard on the album. And I'm proud of her. I've never had the urge to see any artist in concert. But if Mariah were to come to Texas, then just maybe I might consider. After all, she is Mariah Carey. All I would ask if she gave it her all. Sing live, a lot of hand and body movements. I want to see her confident and shut the place down.
