About Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter:

Re: I don't know her shade (61,587) (61,592) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
If Mariah steals a concept/sample and doesn't credit the original and if the original composer/writer calls her out on it, she will deserve it, there is no two ways about it. That being said, let's not forget how JLo's situation played out. Tommy Mottolla and Jennifer Lopez stole two of Mariah's song concepts with the sole intention of exacting revenge on Mariah/sabotaging her career (for Tommy) and to get a hit (for JLo). It was also done at a time Mariah was trying to get back on her feet (something which always be extremely emotional for her). They didn't do it years later or after Mariah released it, in which case Mariah could have sued them like Mariah was sued for "Make It Happen". They did it in the very same year and released it before Mariah could release it. It was done intentionally as confirmed by Irv Gotti and some other people. This was more than a song sample in justice feud (which is still serious since original writers should always be credited), it was a personal/professional sabotage feud. So yes JLo did deserve the subtle shade. It's not like Mariah was yelling "She is a lying, thief b***h)". She just said "I don't know her". But her dragging it for 15 years is what is starting to make her look petty. Anyways Bill I hope it doesn't sound like I am arguing with you, I was just giving my views. I respect your opinions and enjoy your posts.

Re: I don't know her shade (61,574) (61,580) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
She deserves the shade and what made it powerful was that Mariah made a subtle move that had a huge impact. But posting pictures with "I don't know her" signs on her own media is childish and immature and most importantly unnecessary. Why even give Jennifer the chance to come up in the headlines again? Every time this quote is brought up it is never mentioned what JLo did to deserve the insult, they only say that Mariah was pissed because Tommy replaced her with JLo. No one will bother checking if that was the reason or not. They just conclude Mariah is being petty. She is basically letting JLo have good press at the expense of her own reputation.

Mara (61,570) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
It is so weird to watch but even if Mariah chooses to do whatever she does behind closed door I don't get why she allows her dancers to just take these videos and put it on the internet? I mean the video you talked about with the girl and in some other videos, one person is not even dancing with her but has the camera pointed at her while she grinds on someone else and it's not like she isn't seeing him filming her. But why would you want to put it out in the world? How is this helping her?

Re: I don't know her shade (61,565) (61,569) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Bill, while I agree that it's the fans who won't give up on it, and Mariah can't control what they wear to the show and what signs the bring, but it does become Mariah's fault and her teams fault when they take the picture of such a thing and post it on Mariah's own instagram and Mariah's team's instagram. That's them directly acknowledging a quote which Mariah has so far claimed was apparently a misunderstanding. Out of all the lambs that meet her at the meet and greets, she could have picked any of their pictures to share on her own social media platform and choosing this one paints her in the bad light. Her and her team should be classy enough not to directly put these on their personal social media platforms.

Beyonce (61,566) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Ugh. Beyonce dropped yet another surprise visual album and we still don't see any news of the announced single from MC. Come through Mariah.

I don't know her shade (61,550) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
The "I don't know her" is a legendary shade and I love it (and am guilty of using it on many occasions) but please Mariah and her team has to distance themselves from directly acknowledging this at all costs. Seriously, stop posting photos like this. It just leads to 2 things. 1) It makes people like Jennifer more because she isn't out there throwing shade. 2) It makes Mariah look bad because people think she can't get over this feud even after so many years. Mariah can hate JLo all she wants but does it really have to be on her instagram? Same with Stella captioning her own instagram photos with "I don't know her" and "I still don't know her" (knowing that people check on her account too, to get info on Mariah). This is just getting childish. We already have Wendy the great talking about the picture in which Mariah posed with a fan with a sign saying "I still don't know her". Which is still fine because it wasn't on Mariah's instagram. But now she has started posting it on her own page. This is ridiculous.

Re: R-E-S-P-E-C-T (61,541) (61,542) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Oh since you brought up the video, they did make me cringe a lot. I saw multiple videos and in all of them she is super drunk (which I am not judging because it may be just because she was celebrating) and she is basically grinding up and down her dancers Bryan Tanaka (who by the way is a total hottie) and Anthony Burrell, the same two guys in that scandalous photo she posted on her instagram. And no they are not gay, that's for sure. There are multiple videos posted on their snap chats of them from different days just being on both sides of Mariah and moving the camera up and down her body, and I am like what the fudge? At the party it was just so raunchy, I was like does Mariah even know these are being posted? It was a little unnecessary.

Re: Prince (61,538) (61,540) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Ah then that is a different scenario, I apologize. I have always wanted to hear what Mariah cooked up with Michael Jackson. That would have been a dream collaboration for me. I swear Mariah has so many hidden gems just tucked away somewhere, it's not fair.

Re: R-E-S-P-E-C-T (61,535) (61,539) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
"Mariah adds insult to injury by playing up the ditzy diva which only fuels that ideology." I couldn't agree more. Mariah says it's "just for laughs" but it's like she started a joke years ago and just didn't know when to end it. A lot of people will say stuff like "well she shouldn't have to act serious just for show, she should be allowed to be herself since she has already had huge success". But the thing is Mariah herself said multiple times that the whole "ditzy diva" thing is an act so it's not her "being herself". Why keep dragging this act? Why not show people the real artist? The deeply intelligent person that she really is. You can't keep joking about angles and lighting and chaise lounges and expect people to see through it and recognize the "real you". Only the lambs know and understand that Mariah actually is a very intelligent and talented individual whose success has been as a result of her own hard work and persistence. Yes some people did play a role but they wouldn't have done it without the work she put in. Risque clothes or not, if people got even a glimpse of the real talent that is Mariah Carey (and no she isn't just a great singer, that's only a part of her many talents), then they would have probably had a different opinion about her. Nothing else would matter.

Re: Prince (61,528) (61,531) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Releasing a previously unfinished song by Prince may be controversial though. People get really angry when other artists release collaborations with deceased artists, especially when the deceased partner was heavily involved in the songwriting-producing aspect (which Prince certainly was). People start throwing mud saying "Prince wouldn't approve" or "Mariah is banking on Prince's death" and the likes. However I agree that people might only learn to respect Mariah when it's too late. It's funny how the less talented artists are so respected and hyped up and Mariah's achievements are mostly downplayed or ignored. They have basically written her off, so that kind of makes me want her to come back with a killer album.

That's from a 2008 photo shoot for Vibe Magazine. This is the original. However "Next Chapter" would be a great title.

Mariah Carey Balmain (61,498) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Forgot to add in my last post, we finally got Mariah to get on the Balmain bandwagon. Both her gorgeous shoes and that risky dress were from Balmain. This gives a clearer view of the shoes. The dress is a little too revealing though, I hope she goes for those military style signature Balmain next. But hey at least she is on board.

E interview (61,496) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
E. News interviewed Mariah during her launch party and a segment of it focuses on Prince, where Mariah talks about how the news affected her and about her friendship with him. Here is the link. I also liked Mariah's message on her social media about Prince. It was short, but it had a strong impact. The "I'll never get over it" got me emotional.

Mariah Update (61,493) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
So Mariah attended the launch party of her Vodka (ya Vodka) at the VIP room in Paris looking very 2006-2008 Mariah like in this. Another picture from the night is this. Somehow she looks gorgeous even with the dark makeup here, maybe since they didn't pair it with the awful contour. So yes finally Kris got it right. She has finally stepped up her shoe game. For someone like Mariah whose shoe collection can rival any store and then some, she used to mostly pick the most boring shows. Here is a picture that surfaced from the party and is what looks like the ad for the Vodka. No official photos have come out yet.

Re: Mariah's World (61,456) (61,457) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
If this documentary is anything like the one she did during TEOM and also Charmbracelet, I am all in for this. I loved those. The only concern is those were 1 hour specials so they didn't need fillers. This will be a series so chances of the documentary turning into a semi scripted reality show is there. But oh well as long as they focus on Mariah, her voice, her songwriting, her rituals and all that, then I have no problem. Let's see what they come up with. I'll trust Mariah with not letting this turn into a cheap circus.

Info for French lambs (61,444) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Mariah is scheduled to be leaving Hotel Plaza Athenee at 2pm today and returning around 5.30pm. She will be visiting the following places today between 2.00pm and 5.30pm. Here is the list. Info via Mariah Connection. Since she is going to Balmain, I hope she finally gets some stuff from there like I have been begging her to get. How can you hang out with Olivier Rousteing and not step out decked in Balmain?

Mariah bringing on her fire (61,443) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
This and this are pictures of Mariah arriving at the airport. Sister has been dropping weight like it's nobody's business. If anyone wants the gorgeous boots, go to your nearest Versace now and drop 1550 euro and it'll be all yours. I love the boots. The boots combined with that leather jacket is perfect. Also if you guys are interested in renting the mansion that Mariah stayed in during her stay in Italy, here is a sneak peek for you.

Re: New music / SSF tour extension (61,423) (61,425) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Trust me dahlin' I have been dying for new music, for so long. Something with which she can make her comeback and her presence known. I am probably rooting for myself to be wrong this time around for saying there won't be new music soon haha.

New music / SSF tour extension (61,417) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
It has already been somewhat confirmed that Mariah is bringing the SSF tour to South America. Stella said it before, her dancers confirmed to an Argentinian fan that she will be there in August I think (August or October) I forgot. So with that in place, and the Vegas summer leg and then her summer wedding, Beacon in December, I don't think she'll have time to release an album or even if she does will she ever have time to actually give a decent promo tour to it to support it? I see no point in releasing new stuff and then just abandoning it. I really want her to back up her work when she releases it this time around. It's turning out to be one of her busiest years. She also has the reality show coming, for which she might need to do more promos. Anyways Mariah said she would release a single "soon", but "soon" in Mariah's world may be anything from 2 years delayed (MIAM) to never seeing the light of the (Why You Mad song/video release) haha. Let's hope she has some surprises up her sleeves. I am craving some new Mariah music.

Giovanni, G.G. and Gino (61,414) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Thanks guys. I used to actually stupidly defend Andrew before when he used to make some good points (even though back then he still seemed like he was always hating on Mariah) but stopped once he started abusing people on this board left and right. I had finally decided to ignore him completely but dude just kept trying to rile me up. He is starting to come off as someone who doesn't get enough attention at home and so he comes here and tries to rile up people by abusing them just so someone would talk to him. It's pathetic that he comes here and calls people stupid, psycho and all those colorful words. With his lack of social media skills it is clear he doesn't know how people can see pictures just by "following" the person and do not have to be an aggressive stalker. Andrew probably doesn't even care about or believe in stuff he writes here, he just does it to stir up drama. And you guys are right, the best course is to go back to ignoring him. Much love to you all for seeing right through his shadiness.

Oh shut up Tin Tin. Also why are you so interested in figuring me out when I am actively avoiding your sorry presence? Stop trying to sound smart. Sherlock Holmes, you are not.

Stella's birthday (61,392) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Mariah (or Mishka bear) uploaded this photo on Mariah's instagram and I was thinking how they both look so pretty. Mariah looks hot as usual. So I went to Stella's account to see what other pictures Stella uploaded for her birthday. There is a picture of Stella with Mariah which was unnecessarily edited for no good reason and is clearly visible. But what was the weirdest thing was the video that was uploaded on Stella's page. It has Mishka, Liana and another girl twerking (or whatever you call putting your leg up over the railing and popping your bottom up and down) to the "Happy Birthday" song. Seriously what is wrong with these people? Why are they so freaking trashy? They have crossed the Kardashians and gone straight for Amber Rose and Blac Chyna realness. I just hope we don't get a Mariah twerking video next. This is just horrible and unnecessary. Also this photo is showing the Mariah-Stella twinning moment. I just can't.

Haha wow you really do know Mariah's catalogue well. Great to hear your story. Also "Slipping Away" is one of my favorite Mariah songs ever. So underrated.

Hey Cassie. Welcome to the board. Always great to see new Mariah fans. Goes to show that Mariah's music is legendary and will continue to stay relevant no matter what. I'd like to know what exactly made you become a lamb. Was it a particular song? An album? An interview or perhaps a particular performance? Anyways, welcome to the board again. It might get dramatic every now and then (since we are all so passionate about Mariah) but do keep posting.

Re: Bianca (61,359) (61,361) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I feel like Mariah is somehow putting her music in the back seat with all the recent gimmicks and all. I mean now that we will have her marriage featured in the reality show, how is she doing something different from what Kim did? And I always liked it that Mariah keeps her private life private, that's why it irked me that Nick was always making their private life public. But now Mariah is doing it herself. Keep the wedding private. Keep your kids private. You are Mariah, someone who depended solely on your talent to set and break records for 25 years. Never having the gimmicks as a fall back net. She really does need to concentrate on her main profession and maybe see if she can get good roles in movies. But she seems to be really moving away from these. Stella if you want to stick to Mariah at least learn about Mariah's main profession and encourage her to do that instead of pulling Mariah towards your own profession and turning her into a laughing stock.
