I think Mariah's snippet is great and am hopeful the rest of it. The beat of the song is cool and their voices blend really well. I am hopeful the full versions sound as good. I'm not sitting here wishing and hoping Mariah's records get broken. I'm simply saying if/when it happens I'm not going to begrudge the artist their success (even if it is someone I'm not into musically). For me, it feels unkind and unnecessary. To each their own. The point is being missed if it is taken to mean people don't care about what Mariah has accomplished in her career. Mariah was at one time that artist dreaming of what it would be like to have her music be embraced too, and I wouldn't want to dampen that feeling for another artist just because they aren't Mariah. I definitely wouldn't feel comfortable buying music from another artist (especially if I didn't even like the song or the artist) just to make sure Mariah isn't "dethroned." If it doesn't it won't be the end of the world. The obsession with the OSD record quite frankly borders on desturbing lol. There's so much more to Mariah than the OSD record. Not that it isn't a wonderful accomplishment. However, lol her voice sounds fantastic based on the snippet. Look forward to the whole mix. (Thursday 24 August 2017; 13:15)

Re: The album that should have been (78,022) (78,026) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada This is the thing I sometimes find really challenging about "fandoms". I love Mariah. Have been with her since day one. Care about her as a person, truly appreciate her gifts as a songwriter, musician and artist. I also happen to adore Latin music. I have for as long as I can remember. I love the song Despacito. It's a wonderfully structured pop song. Fantastic summer vibe, great to dance to and have fun. Yes, it isn't the meaningful lyric content of OSD, but by the same token I find it extremely moving and touching when music breaks the barriers of culture, language and dogma and is just about bringing us together in enjoyment. I had the biggest smile on my face when I found a YouTube video of artists singing Despacito in over 50 different languages. My loyalty to Mariah hasn't changed simply because I love other music. This song has been charting so well, because it's inspiring people. Can we not celebrate and allow it to have its time? It does nothing to diminish OSD, but, being asked to be upset out of loyalty to Mariah's record and fandom honesty does feel like sour grapes. I can't do that. (Tuesday 22 August 2017; 17:50)

I haven't seen Mariah truly happy from the inside out probably since 2010-2012 ish. She doesn't talk about it, but the end of her marriage to Nick was a huge blow, and she's still carrying around a lot of pain from that. It's not shocking though, especially when you consider that her kids were the same age Mariah was when her parents separated. Stuff like that is a huge loss like a death and if you avoid dealing with the stuff that comes up, it gets bigger until you have no choice but to look at what you need to look at, take responsibility for your role in it, and move on. You don't attract managers that operate from shock value and gimmicks when you are in a solid place emotionally and you know your own worth. Whether her fans agree with the way she dresses or the choices she has made isn't really the point. Her level of trust in herself and in other people has been pretty battered, and rather than pretend everything is OK, she will only feel better when she stops trying to cover up her pain and hide behind her persona. She'll feel better when she's finally ready to be venerable and real again. (Sunday 13 August 2017; 23:51)

Even with my silly sense of humor I don't think Mariah has truly forgotten the authentic part of herself you are speaking of, I think she has just let a lot of distractions get in the way of not really dealing with lingering things. There's a huge difference between when people feel truly fulfilled, passionate, joyful, inspired and motivated versus the alternative, maintaining. I do not esect things to be the way they were when Mariah was 20. I was honest when Mariah's World came out that the "reality tv" aspects of the show weren't my cup of tea and I stated so. However I still love Mariah's music, I still support her as an artist and I am not judging her or hating on her if I say her last few singles weren't my favorite in her catalogue. I still enjoy her live performances, I still anticipate new music from her and I stiil want to see the best for her as a person. (Monday 17 July 2017; 00:07)

Butterfly is still my favorite album, and this gem is incredible. Thanks for posting. My dog passed recently and I can't even put into words how much I miss cuddling with her and taking care of her.
