About Tijl from Belgium: Enchanted by Mariah ever since 'Butterfly' dem Gucci heels in the pool!!!

Re: The Roof, Lullaby, For The Record, and Giving Me Life (86,815) (86,816) by Tijl from Belgium
As Mariah writes cryptically intertwining both autobiographical moments and imaginary it is hard to tell who she is referring to. But Jeter was her biggest crush with Miguel in second place.

It is all about Derek Jeter.

Caution (86,065) by Tijl from Belgium
It seems Mimi created a making out album. Guess she is in love.

New album (85,934) by Tijl from Belgium
Don't we all just feel terribly excited about the new release? When was the last time we all were anticipating a new MC album with this kind of vigeour? I wish Mariah a fantastic launch because our girl is still among the greatest.

Re: Glitter revival (85,925) (85,932) by Tijl from Belgium
I have always loved Glitter (the album not the movie) and found it to be way before its time. This entire occasion must be quite enticing to MC with the launch of her new album. Credit where credit's due.

Glitter revival (85,902) by Tijl from Belgium
Glitter seems to be climbing and climbing on the iTunes chart in the US. What is going on? This era is bringing in more than one surprise.

Lol. You are cracking me up. Should have taken one more cup of coffee before writing my post.

Re: Poor Rainbow, record rankings (85,732) (85,749) by Tijl from Belgium
Rainbow is an album I hardly ever listen to as a body of work. I do feel a bit juggled together as it contains songs who were originally composed for "All That Glitters" and Mariah wanted to finish her contract as soon as possible. The album did deliver with two number ones and some great remixes. And I will always have a weak spot for TCTTAFM.

Re: Brenda K Starr mad Tommy / Mariah destroyed her? (85,660) (85,699) by Tijl from Belgium
Nobody ruined Brenda's career. She could have received the whole MC treatment under Sony's supervision and still she wouldn't be a huge star. She is the conversation compared to Mariah's press conference.

Re: Realize (85,155) (85,164) by Tijl from Belgium
It seems the current Mariah only wants to create the music she feels and enjoys herself. That is okay. There is nothing left to prove. She started out as a rather MOR and highly commercialized artist evolving into an artist on her own terms. Kate Bush has been doing this ever since her career started by staying true to herself and writing exactly and only what she connects with. If this is the way Mariah wants to continue than that is okay. With or without spectacular chart numbers if not any new #1 hit songs. Her latest work feels very close to where she is now in her live.

There is a storm brewing (85,047) by Tijl from Belgium
The further this era unfolds, the more we are all pleasantly surprised by the clever strategy behind it. I feel this time MC can really roll out her original idea (that was stolen) to launch an album as a complete body work and tell us a cohesive story. The deliberately gradual build up certainly evokes momentum. This album is now highly anticipated and not longer seen as the next flop. Second emancipation? More like the revelations of Mimi.

New album confirmed (84,889) by Tijl from Belgium
Mariah herself just confirmed the launch of MC15, titled "Caution" on November 16. No dreamy imagery like "Butterfly" or "Rainbow" nor the obnoxiousness of "MIAM" but just "Caution". This sounds promising.

A new era, a new Mariah (84,826) by Tijl from Belgium
The more I listen to "With You", the more it grows on me. This happened many times before with every new Mariah single. The woman knows what she is doing. The layering of her voice and the sophistication of her songwriting and use of vocabulary is simply lost in the contemporary musical landscape. I stop comparing with her previous work and just enjoy what she is currently creating. The video is just beautiful. The Mariah I see is the woman I fell in love with years ago. A far cry from the empty eyed zombie during the reign of Stella. She is glowing and radiates a joy for life. As my BFF mentioned she oozes old Hollywood glamour with serious Marilyn Monroe vibes. She is still here and she gets noticed 28 years in her career. I don't think we'll know about Taylor Swift or Rihanna in 20 years.

Re: Negativity (84,361) (84,375) by Tijl from Belgium
Thank You for making that statement. I believe that every Lamb out there has an ideal "Mariah" in his or her head that MC just can't live up to. She has reached such an iconic status that being a real human being no longer fits the mold. I would love for Mariah to forever sound like her "Daydream" counterpart and I wish that she would eternally look like she did in the "I Still Believe" video but helaas. "Sometimes the icon becomes bigger than the music itself," said Chris Noth when he announced Mariah at VH1 Fashion Awards in 2001. And this was even before the comeback of the century. To live that life one can only imagine and I don't blame her for hiding behind a "faux" persona in order to survive the mayhem of being that kind of famous. There is an endless list of huge superstars that got lost in their fame and who did not survive. I am very gratefull that she is a fighter, that she is still around and that she keeps on creating music in the way she feels doing it. Only when she will be really gone, people will truly appreciate the traces she has left on the world of popular music.

"Fan" reactions (84,211) by Tijl from Belgium
Honestly, is it really necessary to debunk and critize a snippet from a song that yet has to be released officially? Some people on this board should take a good look at their lives and drop the obsessive negativity. If you aren't any longer feeling Mariah than you should find another way to fight boredom. Continuously expressing ones frustrations about how Mariah is letting you down doesn't make you an authentic yet disappointed fan but rather defines you as a sour pickle. GTFO.

I hope RocNation plans a well produced performance. Awards shows these days are all about spectacular tv moments. Fingers crossed. Remember the MTV Awards in Miami where she performed SIO and WBT? Well, THAT was a moment .

Re: GTFO rollout (83,848) (83,852) by Tijl from Belgium
WBT was epic because the song slowly build up momentum and the concept of the video had a narrative. It contained the required MC beauty shots yet they weren't annoying. Those two first videos from the TEOM era are cemented in my top 5 of favorite Mariah videos.

Re: GTFO rollout (83,829) (83,842) by Tijl from Belgium
WBT was a huge hit throughout Europe and redefined Mariah as a superstar to be exact.

Re: Love the song but not so much the video (83,761) (83,766) by Tijl from Belgium
As you mentioned, I really like the song but the video is a disappointment. She looks freakin' incredible but this concept was done before and better with the likes of Crybaby and Shake It Off. However, the RocNation PR machine is delivering; there is a positive vibe about Mimi that concerns her music. To be continued...

Welcome Steven. On which occassions did you see Mimi? Mine were on the Rainbow and Charmbracelet tour. The third time will be in December for the Christmas concerts.
