About Billy from Greece: I don't know, and neither do you.

Social media (80,002) by Billy from Greece
Have you guys noticed how different are Mariah's pages on social media since the new team arrived? Everything looks so professional once again, thank God. This feels so sweet after the nightmare we endured.

Very interesting words by Miss Patti.

Re: Lila have you been living under a rock? (79,623) (79,626) by Billy from Greece
Nikki, I really love when you answer back with receipts, in the most substantiated way possible, especially to posters that are just plain judgmental, bitter and self-righteous.

"Charmbracelet" anniversary (79,621) by Billy from Greece
Happy fifteenth anniversary to an album I hold dear to my heart. For me, CB is a transitional album, that took "Mariah" to "Mimi" and one that sort of signaled a new era for her. "Lullaby" and "Subtle Invitation", along with "Through the Rain" and "My Saving Grace", are some of my most beloved songs. There's plenty of gems on here. I won't say that it is Mariah's most accessible album, but it certainly is one of her most intricate and satisfying as a whole, especially lyrically. Just a unique moment in time for the lambs that experienced that era, because it sustained our patience and belief in MC. It was during those days that Mariah cemented her cult fan following, I think.

Beacon / first show (79,616) by Billy from Greece
Following the slayage that was the concert a few days ago, I won't lie, I got teary eyed watching clips from the first Christmas show. Forget that she looked gorgeous, like a goddess. Forget that she sounded phenomenal, impeccable. Above everything, she seemed to be well, "together". I am so happy and grateful to see her like that again. It only makes me angry at the same time to think what that disgusting woman and her idiotic daughters brought upon Mariah the previous years and how they were the source and reason of so much misfortune. But alas, that is in the past and Mariah is back. Amen.

Re: "Joy to the World" live (79,578) (79,582) by Billy from Greece
Hi Licia. Yes, the one I posted is from the St. John Divine concert. The one you posted is also an excellent performance, and one I also love, especially the intro.

"Joy to the World" live (79,576) by Billy from Greece
I'm obsessed with this performance. Even Mr. Sony himself wrote in his memoir that "it still stands out to me as one of the greatest live vocal performances of all time" (274). On that I agree.

Hey MusicfanJ. Yes, that was me. I totally agree with everything you said. I've also just popped MCIIY in my boombox. Such wonderful orchestrations this album has.

I forgot to post the link, sorry. Here it is.

1997 interview / "Lead The Way" (79,551) by Billy from Greece
This is an interview after the release of Butterfly where Mariah mentions that she had already written one song for her movie project. We later found out it was "Lead the Way". Just for anyone wondering because I think this topic has come up again at some point.

"Always Be My Baby" (79,532) by Billy from Greece
ABMB is such a pop/R&B masterpiece, an American standard at this point. Pure magic.

Mariah Carey has moved past her failed engagement (79,525) by Billy from Greece
Great interview. I particularly liked the following statement: "It's really interesting because as we go through different stages as artistes you do see the peaks and the valleys, and it does seem so much sweeter after you've kind of fallen and you figure out how to get back up."

"Mariah Carey's extraordinary voice and influence" (79,518) by Billy from Greece
Wow, this almost made me emotional. Especially after all the articles on Butterfly's twentieth anniversary that acknowledged Mariah's legacy so unanimously, it feels bittersweet that we're at that point in time where we look back and see the impact that this woman has had on our culture. And she was only a baby while taking the world by storm.

#1's (79,477) by Billy from Greece
Happy nineteenth birthday to one of the most influential compilations of the past twenty years, with one of the most iconic album covers ever. The three singles from this album are some of my favorite Mariah songs ever. I also believe she was at the most gorgeous she's ever been during 1998/1999 (video of "Sweetheart" anyone?). "I Still Believe" still remains one of her most beloved tracks and the foundation for some of her best remixes (from "Pure Imagination" to the "Kings Mix" and beyond). The only thing I'm really in shock about is the nineteen years since its release. As the song goes, "Who knows where the time goes?"

Interviews (79,434) by Billy from Greece
Can we acknowledge how utterly gorgeous and more relaxed Mariah seems in the recent interviews promoting the animated movie? Welcome back Mariah. I sure hope the "nightmare era" that lasted two years is gone forever.

Re: BJW (79,269) (79,270) by Billy from Greece
Can someone provide receipts for Big Jim Wright's shenanigans? Just to clarify, I'm not being ironic here, I'm just wondering where all this started from. I feel MC's work with him has been utterly brilliant and I truly hoped he would continue to be her main music collaborator, live or studio. They also seemed to have a great relationship, mutual respect and admiration. Too bad.

DVDs (79,226) by Billy from Greece
I would like to express how utterly frustrated, if not infuriated, I am about the fact that after years and years of no music related dvd releases (and very few Mariah dvds in general), we now have the "joke" (to put it mildly) that is "Mariah's World" immortalized for future generations on dvd. I mean, why? I ask you, why? That thing should be buried and never see the light of day again. It is the only Mariah related project that I find indefensible. Sure, Mariah is the boss, Mariah greenlighted that, but I really put the blame on that woman (and her equally, if not more, invidious daughters) who thank God is no longer 24/7 around MC. The scenes including Mariah doing music, or her actual job, are beautiful and she looks gorgeous throughout. But what's the point of releasing a dvd of this "thing"? Anyways, I put it to rest.

New era (79,208) by Billy from Greece
What I also love, following the news, is that in new photos Mariah is actually looking like Mariah again after a while.

"Mariah Carey and manager split" (79,179) by Billy from Greece
It's been a long time since I screamed this loud. Hallelujah. Please let this be true. Lawd have mercy. Amen.

"Rainbow" (79,162) by Billy from Greece
"Rainbow" is now officially an adult. "Who knows where the time goes"?

Joy to the World (Celebration Mix) - question (79,117) by Billy from Greece
I have a question about this remix of "Joy to the World": as it bears little resemblance to the original carol, was the new melody and lyrics developed by Mariah, or was it based on another existing version? So far, I have not found anything that would support the latter. I'm just amazed at how creative she was with that remix. It is a total re-envisioning of the original song, and could stand as a new song altogether. Just a very unique piece of music Mariah has give us. It is so freestyle and ebullient.

Glitter OST (79,074) by Billy from Greece
Giving "Glitter" a spin after quite some time. Mariah is on fire here. Free, uninhibited, hot grooves, experimenting with different musical structures, creating a concept, giving nostalgic vibes. The absolute escapist experience. This album is the bomb.
