About Gee from U.S.A. (New York City): Me and Mariah go back like babies on pacifiers.

MoTown tribute (87,999) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
The MoTown tribute was a JLo Vegas show using MoTown music. Honestly that tribute was a mess and whoever thought that this was a brilliant idea was totally wrong. Smokey was just to be up there on stage to get a feel on JLo, because he and Neyo served no purpose other than being cheerleaders for JLo. This performance was a slap in the face to the elegance, grace, and greatness that is the history of MoTown. JLo's lane is showgirl but without the bells and whistles her act is very basic.

Robert-Anthony (87,986) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Robert-Anthony I can appreciate your love for Ariana’s new album but you cannot compare an artist who has done damn near everything Ariana has done but on a bigger level. Mariah is now 15 albums with almost three decades under her belt and with Daydream and Butterfly she defined her artistry and with TEOM she redefined her artistry and legacy once again. With Caution she proved that even with working with current producers and other co-writers that Mariah sound still belongs to her and even when others imitate her artistry no one can do it better. Personally everyone needs to allow AG who is already in the studio beginning work on her next album to develop and grow as an artist, as well as build her own merits and legacy that will one day define her.

Can (87,985) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Can Mariah just be Mariah without everyone trying to place their own expectations on her? She does not need to follow any formula as she is the formula many aspire to be. She should work with artists and producers who allow her to be creative and that she is comfortable with. She had to fight many years to become the legend she is today. On another note Ariana is five albums in and has yet to match the brilliance of any of MC’s first 5 albums in anyway, shape, or form so can some of stop the comparisons. I am sure it has become annoying to Ariana as well. Allow her to build her own artistry just like MC had to. Lastly Caution still bangs allow it to stand on its own merits.

Tommy (87,961) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Tommy has come to terms with what he did to Mariah earlier on in her career was not cool because he apologized during the press tour for his book in 2013. He also credited Mariah with making him appreciate the art of songwriting as he said her songwriting abilities are what make her an even better artist. We must all admit that both Tommy and Mariah were beneficial to one another.

Being (87,951) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Being a fan since the early stages of MC's career I can say that even though she became successful out of the gate and it gave her some kind of security she really did not feel safe nor comfortable pre Butterfly even though she was selling like hot cakes personally and creatively she felt stifled. While we thought we saw someone who was happy to be living her dreams and have the world at her oyster deep down inside she was unhappy and just going with the flow so to speak. It was not until Daydream into Butterfly where the real MC begins to come into her own and feel good about who she is creatively but that did not come easy she had to fight for who she is today and I am grateful she did because we would have never gotten to experience the true artist that is Mariah if she did not fight that battle and come out victorious.

Brilliant post, you put everything into perspective and your message hit a homerun.

With You (87,930) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
I believe that this song is doing what it needs to do and that is get MC back within her older and A/C audience so being able to score a top 10 hit with that particular song with that fan base is just what was planned all along. This album was about finally garnering the critical accolades because commercially speaking she has done everything that only a select few artists can speak for. Don't get me wrong of course commercial success is what every artist strives for but what we should be proud of is that MC can release such a great quality album after almost three decades in the music industry.

Mariah / Super Bowl (87,929) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
The halftime show is all about bells and whistles the last two halftime shows proved that, that stage is not for everyone. Based off the politics with the Super Bowl I would rather not see MC do it unless everything is in the right place and she is willing to put the work into which as we all know MC can be very lazy at times with rehearsal and discipline. We definitely do not need another New Years rocking eve 2016. Honestly if she did do it Hero would be included because if you notice every artist includes that ballad type song with the choir and Hero would be the best fit because of the message in itself.

Maroon 5 (87,917) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
They could have kept that is was a big bore everything surrounding this years Super bowl was lackluster. They were actually asked after Rihanna declined.

B your post is the best way to sum things up.

Daydream vs Butterfly (87,833) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Licia you do make a strong point with Daydream but it has hints of the urban flavor Butterfly was her full transition to the Urban R&B and hip hop sound along with a new image. But I will say Daydream was the perfect name for that particular album as the vibe of the album was hypnotic and mesmerizing. Her vocals were also very dreamy as well. All in all both albums were the perfect transition for our queen at the time. As they both serve their purpose in her amazing catalog of music.

The Roof (87,801) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
The fact that MC was able to sample a popular hip hop track like Mobb Deep Shook Ones part II and make an amazing R&B track that told a hood love tale and the video in my opinion is total heaven I have to disagree with those that said The Roof or Butterfly is overrated without Butterfly we would have not gotten Mariah the artist don't get me wrong MC was already great but Butterfly took that greatness to another level beyond just balladeer Mariah the entire Butterfly era was Mariah artist being born and for some coming alive but for those who feel otherwise I still got love for ya.

This latest hiccup (87,666) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Hopefully with this latest hiccup Mariah has learned her lesson to stop dealing with fans who are looking to come up off of her name. Also to deal with competent people who know how to handle a star of her magnitude. Honestly as much as I love MC I have to blame her for this simply because she allowed these charades to go on longer than they should have. Stella and company did not care about MC at all, their only purpose was to gain more fame and recognition off of MC’s and image and MC was burned in the end and for that she has to blame herself for being so trusting. Hopefully this is the last chapter in the Stella era and we can get back to the great things that have been happening with the caution era, both personally and professionally.

Missy (87,569) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
As for Missy I feel like this is her big moment since she has yet to receive a video vanguard award or any major Lifetime achievement award. Honestly speaking Missy's writing output has been minimal for about a decade now. I believe that the committee is favoring the rappers now because for the last three years rappers have been inducted into the Hall of Fame on their first try. Hopefully the committee does MC justice and give her, her just due as it is much deserved. Hopefully her 30th anniversary in the entertainment industry will be her year she begins to receive the flowers she has worked so hard for (2020).

Mara (87,534) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Nick is always saying a little bit too much for my liking honestly. What does it matter he married her anyway and I am certain that people told MC the same thing in regards to marrying Nick but they both did what they felt was best and they loved each other.

SWHOF (87,531) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Once again Mariah did not make the cut. Maybe next time even though it's disappointing because she deserves it.

Adele (87,472) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
So far in my opinion she has proven herself to be one note which after a while becomes extremely boring. But I will say I do like some of her songs.

Preference (87,453) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Everybody on this board has a Mariah that they prefer but for me I can appreciate pop MC and hip pop all the same it just depends on what MC I want to listen to at the moment. Also I am not mad with anyone’s preferences. Also as Special K touched on MC has such a vast catalog that appeals to so many so her music will continue to airplay whether it’s WY, or Hero or even Fantasy (pop version/remix).

While... (87,422) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
While we as a family continue to be a little dysfunctional at times about any and everything regarding MC. She seems to be enjoying some fun and family time which let’s me know she is very much at peace and content with where she is in life. We must remember that the commercial success of MC’s glory days will never happen again because the industry has changed as a whole at this point we should be glad that MC still enjoys making music and just being creative because she can call it day and be fine.

With You (87,421) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Was only serviced to A/C and A/C R&B stations as her team was going for rebranding her with that particular audience. Also if anyone has paid attention most of her radio press stops were geared to the older audiences besides a few other than that I believe that her team had a plan going into this era fixing her public image and I feel like that they have done that. The critical accolades is what MC has always wanted and she has finally gotten that so I feel like she is in a happy place right now.

Rodney Jerkins (87,293) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
His production on MIAM was the weakest out of all of the producers on that album in my opinion.

WNMLAM (87,250) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
A great duet both Michael and MC held their own. The youth and strength in MC's voice is just beyond incredible here. This is just another example of MC's undeniable talent as a singer and much respect to Michael Bolton for blessing MC with a major opportunity so early on in her career.

Hilton (87,201) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
The reason there would never be reunion between MC and Walter is simple MC does not trust him, and he still works close with Tommy and also MC felt betrayed by Walter after the split between she and Tommy even though he was signed and contracted to Sony he became a main producer after MC expressed to Tommy the chemistry she built with him while working on LTT which is how he got to work with her on Emotions up until Butterfly. On top of that his (Walter’s) anger towards MC is because she will not release the rights to AIWFC to be used in movies, commercials, and other product placement because he says that he makes chump change from his rights to the song so their issues are both personal and professional.
