Christmastime Is In The Air Again (86,564) by enwar00 from usa
I said I was going to listen to the Christmas albums last week but I didn't actually pop them in until today. And now, I'm down a YouTube hole. Honestly I don't mind because it's better than killing Caution already. I thought I would share one of my favorite performances of Mariah of all time. Something magical to me.

Additional production by JD on A No No, yes.

Caution #5 (86,515) by enwar00 from usa
#5 debut on Billboard. I read this is her 18th top 10 album on the U.S. charts. It's crazy to think that. What an amazing career.

Happy Thanksgiving (86,423) by enwar00 from usa
Happy Thanksgiving to anyone celebrating. Among my thanks is Caution.

Merry Christmas (86,378) by enwar00 from usa
I'm working from home today, it's cold and drab outside, so this may be the day I pull out the Christmas albums and give them their first spins of the season. I thought to start with MCIIU, because that's usually my go to, but maybe I'll go with the original first today.

Re: One Mo' Gen (86,245) (86,257) by enwar00 from usa
Is it weird that it's making me cry? Obviously not the first time. Faded did this last. Sometimes her voice gives me feels inside I can't even put into words. Just in awe, like it's otherworldly or something purely instinctual. Maybe it's love I hear. This beautiful voice that I've been hearing for almost 30 years has constantly been with me since I was a kid. Like an old friend or a guardian angel providing some soothing through life's ups and downs. Is this the weirdest message ever? Lol.

One Mo' Gen (86,245) by enwar00 from usa
I think it's my fave. I just think the melody and her vocals are so pretty. Especially the backgrounds on my favorite line "go back in, one mo' gen". I also like the structure, how it starts with the chorus and it's understated, I noticed that on 8th Grade as well. And I like the piano and just think the song flows well. I keep saying pretty but that's how I would describe the song overall. Therefore, I say next single or the one after if they're planning on pushing The Distance next.

Re: Caution album signing (86,128) (86,150) by enwar00 from usa
Jared that sounds like such an exciting moment for you. So did your shirt light up then after she sang or what? How funny. I geeked out way worse, and it was the 90s, so all I could meander out was "Mariah I love you, you're the bomb."

Re: Multiple copies (86,146) (86,148) by enwar00 from usa
Well, I bought a CD because I like the sound quality in my car and it didn't have Bluetooth. With Amazon they usually also autorip to my Amazon player and I can stream it there or download it, but it didn't. I just noticed her website is selling limited editions such as a cassette, picture disc vinyls, and the alternate cover with the M, and these include a download. So, I may get something like that and display it and have the download on my phone. Haven't decided yet. And I may buy a CD or vinyl for my sister as a Christmas gift. Irregardless people earn their money and are free to spend it as they please.

Re: Caution tidbits (86,080) (86,120) by enwar00 from usa
Yes that was my initial thought, but the dark sound and lower register make me think of the other one. I heard both in there. It's a great song and really stood out upon first listen.

Re: Runaway (86,073) (86,082) by enwar00 from usa
Lol. And what are the odds, I'm watching the Genius interview and she mentioned Alone In Love by the correct name.

Re: Caution reviews (86,048) and excitement (86,069) by enwar00 from usa
I agree, so far I skimmed but will go back and read through more thoroughly as I sit down and immerse myself in the album on repeat no doubt. It's always a breath of fresh air to come on this board and hear people's thoughts on a new album, appearances, etc., positive or negative, and feel the overall excitement. Hopefully we can ride this current wave of energy for awhile before going back to beating a dead horse, insults, and negative for the sake of negative posts.

Re: Runaway (86,050) (86,058) by enwar00 from usa
Seriously. I thought she tweeted that it's Runaway. This is going to turn into another All Alone In Love. That's not what it's called. Irregardless if that's how she referred to it.

Re: Caution lyrics (86,054) (86,056) by enwar00 from usa
I got scared there would be no lyrics again. But I just unwrapped and there are. I'm excited to sit down and listen to the CD while reading the lyrics in the booklet. I already looked at GTFO and there's lyrics that I was wrong on. Someone mentioned they're not able to distinguish her lyrics as much as they used to, and I will say yes I agree.

Thanks you so much for posting this. I had no idea where or how I'd be able to watch it but I'm very interested in it. Meanwhile I just grabbed Caution out the mailbox and I'm about to take my first ride with it.

Re: Glitter n1 (85,963) (85,975) by enwar00 from usa
Deedre I listened to it in the car this morning to celebrate and was totally feeling it. I'll give it another spin soon. I always say things sound different every few years for me, so it's been sounding fresh again. Lead the Way is my fave, absolutely stunning vocals. Twister gives me Looking In vibes, kind of an offbeat tune, moving. I've talked shit about Never Too Far before, but it's really only Reflections that I skipped. I just don't like it. Happy Glitter Day.

Re: Caution first listen (85,966) (85,974) by enwar00 from usa
How the f are you guys listening to the album already? I feel so out of the loop right now. 20 years ago I'd be waiting to go to Tower Records at midnight tonight and wait in line to buy the CD. Help.

Re: Bilboard Top 200 (85,960) (85,973) by enwar00 from usa
Yes Billy, most likely. Keep in mind that the Billboard 200 also counts streaming and sales from other sources besides iTunes in their chart, so this doesn't mean Glitter will be #1 next week on the Top 200. I'm anxious to see how high it will go. Irregardless this was a fun week with the ramdom Glitter excitement.

With You growing (85,900) by enwar00 from usa
I'm pleasantly surprised to see With You randomly showing up on U.S. Billboard airplay charts. It jumped to #11 on Adult Contemporary and is the greatest gainer for the week, even climbing faster than the Lady Gaga song which is more popular overall. It also debuts on Adult Top 40 at #39 and is the highest new entry on the R&B/ Hip Hop airplay at #41. Hopefully it will continue to grow as the album rolls out and there's more promo with Mimi back in the States. Maybe it will become that sleeper hit after all. The charts don't dictate whether I like a song or not, but they're a fun added bonus at this point when they happen.

Re: Rainbow cover (85,808) (85,815) by enwar00 from usa
Yup, she sure was showing us that plastic Barbie Mariah booty on the back cover. Overall the most untouched and life-like photos plastic Barbie Mariah ever released. The actual doll was supposed to be out that Christmas. Clothes sold separately. But Tommy put a stop to all the plans.

Re: Poor Rainbow, record rankings (85,771) (85,777) by enwar00 from usa
I'm not a big fan of There For Me either. They pushed it on the radio when it was released, in my opinion to take focus off Glitter, but it never really caught on. I get why it was relegated to the B-side of what was already a dud single. I'm even trying to remember what it sounds like but The Star keeps playing in my head instead. Meanwhile the brilliant Lead The Way just sat there as an album track.
