About Dove from USA: "Just sing from your heart the entire time and your notes will continue to shine regardless of the dirt that gets splattered around you." - Mariah Carey

Debut album (49,012) by Dove from USA
Abraham, that's funny because I've been listening to her debut album a lot lately too. I was just thinking yesterday that I'm impressed at how good it still sounds all these years later.

Whenever I feel heartbroken about my failing marriage, I listen to Love Someone by Jason Mraz. It makes me feel hopeful about the future and reminds me what romantic love is supposed to be like. It didn't work out with our exes because they weren't the right ones. When we find the right person, the timing is perfect. That person will be our partner, lover, and friend. I would like for Mariah to cover Love Someone and release it as a digital download the week of Valentine's Day along with End Of The Road. One to get the tears out and one to lift us up and give us hope.

A Song For Mama (48,998) by Dove from USA
I also really like A Song For Mama by Boyz II Men. On this earth I love my son the most and then my mom is next. My son is going through a stage where sometimes he acts like he hates me. Sometimes I question myself, and my choices, and I wonder if I'm doing a good job as a parent. He went to stay with his dad and his new girlfriend for Christmas break. His first night back I went into his room to say goodnight and he said, "Mom, you're a good mom, I'm glad that you're my mom." My heart felt like it was going to explode with happiness. Even thinking about it right now makes me feel euphoric. That's the best gift a child can give to his mom. I love my mom a ton, too, but I don't always tell her. I guess I didn't want her to feel too proud of herself, or something, and I was resentful of the things she did wrong. but honestly, I dread the day when she won't be here anymore. My mom loves me unconditionally, she's been there for me no matter what, and I can trust her. She was my first friend. After my son told me that, I'm making a conscious effort to tell my mom how amazing she is as much as I can because I know now how much that means to a mom. I know Mariah wrote a song for her dad but I don't think she's written one for her mom yet. That's another one for my wish list. It can be released as a digital download on Mother's Day.

End Of The Road by Boyz II Men. Anyone who has ever been divorced knows about divorce remorse. It's practically two of the five stages of grieving (denial and bargaining). That song was still popular way after it came out in 1992. I listened to that song in 1996 after my first heartbreak in middle school, along with the sad songs on Music Box and Daydream. Listening to it now, after getting a divorce, makes me see it in a different light. It also kinda fits with what's going on in Mariah's life right now. Maybe this song is not how she feels, but it could be, and it is for a lot of people. The reason I liked WBT so much is because I thought it was about her, that she was regretful of choosing a rich old man over her true love and was getting a do-over in the video. If she recorded EOTR, I would like for it to stay as close to the original as possible, including keeping the spoken parts and the ad libs at around 3:00 where he sings: "End of the road, end of the road, that I know I can't let go baby. I don't know what I'm gonna do because I know I've come to the end of the road. Oh my God, oh my God. Help me out a little bit baby." I want her to keep it long and really get lost in it and make us feel it. Maybe it can be produced by Babyface and LA Reid to keep it as true to the original as possible. It can be released on Valentine's Day as a digital download. I think it could be a big hit as us 90's kids are jonesing for some nostalgia. When it's supposed to be "girl" she can say "babe" or "my love" so that it's gender neutral. Then, in the spoken part, where it goes, "All those times of night when you just hurt me and just ran out with that other fella" she can say "ran out with your other lover" instead. I think if she sounds really vulnerable during the spoken part it will work.

Luis / #1's (48,978) by Dove from USA
You're right, I didn't think about that. Maybe when she beats The Beatles record next year she can get around that by releasing a new #1's album with really good live versions of all her #1's. The Greatest Hits from 2001 already includes Sweetheart, WYB, and ISB. If they would have included Whenever You Call with Brian McKnight on there that would have been perfect.

Beat The Beatles record (48,970) by Dove from USA
If MC wants to break the record for the most number ones, she needs to just tactfully ask the people. We all want to be a part of something big. We need to believe she can and will break that record.

Compilation albums (48,968) by Dove from USA
Right now is the time to saturate the market with Mariah because she's been out (or on the down low) for a long while. Right now is the time to put her name, face, music, and legacy out there. No one else is putting themselves out there because they know they're not going to make any money. For the #1's album, she should just add the 5 songs to the current #1's and stop distributing the old one. She can include When You Believe, Sweetheart, and Whenever You Call to a B-sides and rarities album. I still buy compilation albums because they're less money than buying the songs individually and sometimes I don't know the artist's work or what songs are good. It's just a little taste. I recently bought the Boyz II Men one and James Brown for $5 each on Amazon and I wouldn't have bought entire albums by them otherwise.

Album prices (48,967) by Dove from USA
We live in times when music can be listened to for free. Because people can listen to it for free, it's time to permanently lower prices on whole albums so that people will buy them instead of stream. I like the Amazon model where everything comes down to $5 (US) at some point. Personally, I always wait until an album hits $5 before I buy it, unless it's Mariah, or an artist I really like at the moment and want to support. But that's rare. In my opinion, a digital download should cost $5, a physical copy of a CD should cost $5 and include a free digital download ($10 for a double CD), and vinyl should be $20 and include a free digital download. (Vinyl is more expensive to make and it's also artwork that can be framed and hung on the wall.) I'm not talking about specials, I'm saying Mariah should make a big announcement that she's lowering the prices on all of her music as a thank you to the people for keeping her in business for 25 years. I know it sounds like giving it away but people are going to stream it otherwise, anyway. Mariah is the type of artist that, if she has the right people (someone like Yoko Ono) managing her legacy and life's work, her grandkids will still be making money off of her for years and years to come.

Vegas (48,966) by Dove from USA
I say yes to the Las Vegas residency. The music industry is in a weird place right now and no one is making any money. Vegas is the perfect place for her to make a ton of money, at least until music starts being distributed in a different way that turns a profit again. But if she does it she should hire some creative people to make it an amazing production/experience. I've seen Celine and Britney's shows and they were pretty awesome and worth the travel and money.

Jon / Jazz album (48,915) by Dove from USA
If she did brand new songs that would be even better. I was thinking covers and new arrangements of her older songs so that we wouldn't have to wait for her to write a bunch of new songs. She could whip something up quickly. I love your idea of recording a live album of all jazz songs. That's an exciting thought

Jazz album (48,906) by Dove from USA
For the jazz album, I think she should cover some of her favorite jazz standards but most of the songs should be her already released songs with new arrangements. I've always wanted to hear a slowed down, sad, smoky, version of Heartbreaker. I envision Touch My Body and Shake It Off with big band/swing instrumentation. I've been listening to the Pearl Palms concert and it breathes new life into some songs that weren't at the top of my favorites before. When we were all making lists of songs we wanted her to perform on TECS, someone suggested she sing her "easier" songs, such as: Obsessed, TMB, SIO, UOMF, Thirsty, etc. We were saying that would be boring but after listening to the Pearl Palms concert, I take that back. She doesn't need vocal acrobatics to impress. When she sings anything live, it makes my soul feel like it's soaring. When she announces future concerts she should also announce the set list at the same time. That way the public can know what type of Mariah concert to expect. About a month before I go to a concert, I make a playlist of the set list and listen to it non-stop in anticipation.

Music videos thoughts (48,903) by Dove from USA
My favorite Mariah video is Fantasy. I think the main reason I like it so much is because she's in motion. We catch her essence. I especially love the subtle movements of her face when she's on the roller coaster. There is something about some of her newer videos that make them hard for me to watch. (I'm glad they exist but I would like for her videos to take a new direction.) They look stretched out or like video game graphics. They remind me of the Clocks painting by Salvador Dali. For example: the part in the #Beautiful when she's on the bike, her face and its movements don't look natural. Or the part when she's dancing seems really slow motion. It would have been better if they would have been actually riding the bike instead of simulating it. I like how everything (backgrounds) looks except her. Her body, hair, and face look great, and I like the outfits, but it looks like someone stretched out the film. I know they don't use film anymore but I don't know how else to describe it. Same in HATEU. I also don't like how it looks when she lip syncs. The only time it looks good is when she was actually singing (concert DVDs) and it was dubbed. For Supernatural I would have liked some home video type scenes with the kids riding the cups at Disneyland, as a nod to Fantasy. Or for, Money ($ * /...) some video footage of their weddings. That would be fun to watch as a fan. I know they're not together anymore but for a moment in time they were happy and that should be celebrated.

My ideas for MC25 (48,893) by Dove from USA
I like the idea of putting out an album of B-sides and rarities from the last 24 years with a few new tracks, instead of the usual compilation album. During one of her poster contests, one of the submissions was a bunch of cartoon Mariah's with her most iconic looks. It reminded me of the original album cover and poster from Selena's album "Siempre Selena" and I think it would be a great idea to recreate it but with Mariah's most iconic looks. Front and back, poster. Some could be when she won artist of the millennium, first Grammy, Fantasy video, iconic performances, etc. Whatever her favorite moments or looks are. In the CD booklet, it would be nice if the lyrics were included, iconic pictures from the past, and little stories of what she was thinking or how she was feeling during memorable moments. It can be called Just For The Nostalgia: B-Sides and Rarities.

enwar00 (48,880) by Dove from USA
I love that video. I wouldn't want all of her videos to look like that but I'm glad it exists. In the year 2000, I remember listening to Merry Christmas Baby by Christina Aguilera where she sings Auld Land Syne in the intro. I remember thinking I wanted Mariah to sing that song and make a video singing and dancing in front of fireworks. I'm not even kidding. That's not how I thought the video would turn out but I really love it anyway. I love that she's sharing her pregnancy with us.

You're my favorite lamb too. I actually missed not reading your posts when you were gone for a while. I was like, "I call your name, baby, subconsciously." Happy New Year to you, Mariah, and all the lambs including my other favorites: Bill, May and Stacey.

Re: American Idol moment (48,781) by Dove from USA
"Just sing from your heart the entire time and your notes will continue to shine regardless of the dirt that gets splattered around you." I love that. Mariah knows what she's doing, she doesn't need my help. I forgot for a moment she's been doing this for 25 years and I've been doing it for 0 years. I've been watching the Christmas performances and I love what she's projecting. I won't be on here for a while but I wanted to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope to see you all next year.

Baby / relatability (48,755) by Dove from USA
I think what Marissa is trying to say, and I agree with her, is that Mariah Carey is relatable but the general public hasn't seen that side of her since E=MC2. We fans overlook it, because we already know her. We keep up with every little things she does so we know it's not true. The Mariah portrayed in the media before E=MC2 is a very different Mariah than the one portrayed after. We as fans are going to buy her music no matter what, we already love her. But people who are newly introduced to her, or don't follow her as closely as we do, a lot of them don't like her. I'm not just making this up to be a hater. All the negative comments that people post on Facebook, articles, and blogs are the same. When they say "diva" they mean the word that starts with a "B" and ends in "itch". That's the public image she holds for a lot of people right now. It doesn't mean it's true but I think it does affect record sales and that's the only reason I'm even bringing it up. In the 90's people bought Britney Spears music because they liked her, not because it was good. Not saying Mariah has to change or pretend she's not rich, I love that she's rich and successful. I love that she's over the top and festive. I'm just saying I think it would benefit her to show her good side a little more. Most people don't know about those things you listed. You don't have to agree, you obviously don't, so let's just move on.

Dream collaborations (48,740) by Dove from USA
Three ballads co written with Walter Afanasief (for the nostalgia, their songs are my favorite). Christmas song duet with Kelly Clarkson. KC respects MC and I think their voices would sound great together. KC is inspired by MC but doesn't rip her off. She's been wanting to sing with Mariah forever. Collabo with Azealia Banks. Her new album is really exciting. I'm not even a big fan of rap/hip hop but I love it. I don't know if this is possible but I would like for MC to write some songs for Candice Glover. She has an amazing voice and I believe she has the potential to be the next diva with the right songs.

Jon / Nikki (48,644) by Dove from USA
Jon you're right society is superficial and tacky. My doctor, dentist, and car dealership all have those tabloids in the waiting rooms. What does that say about us? Sometimes I give suggestions on here but it's mostly wishful thinking; I am not going to turn my back on Mariah if she doesn't do what I want her to do. Nikki I also liked your post (48617). You're right Mariah and all the successful entertainers have always had haters. I have noticed a huge influx of support for Mariah since the Rockefeller performance on blogs, articles, social media, and videos so that makes me happy. I know tabloids are not real news and I meant to put it in quotes, Dr. Evil style, but I forgot. I just meant maybe it's good that people are still wanting to talk and know about MC. I don't expect gossipers to give respect, but what worries me about it is: sometimes that's the only side we hear. I dont think there are enough positive stories to counteract the negative ones. I try to read all of the comments on videos or stories about Mariah and, before a few weeks ago, the comments were mostly the same negative things. So it's either the same person or these people are getting their opinions from the same source. That's all I was saying. I wasn't trying to be negative and I believe Mariah's career is far from over.

Wendy Williams and Mariah Carey HQ 2005 (48,629) by Dove from USA
I went through and watched all the MC/WW clips and I really like this one. This is the Mariah I wish everyone knew. The eternally 12 is actually pretty sweet and endearing but I think it's taken out of context by people who don't know her how we know her. This interview shows that Mariah is smart and can hold her own. She keeps it classy and doesn't let herself be pressured into revealing more than she wants to reveal. I also like that it's long-ish and I feel like we're just friends hanging out. I laughed out loud a few times and didn't want it to end. I hope we get more interviews next year.

Jon (48,620) by Dove from USA
Re: post (48,591). I thumbed up your comment but since we don't know who's liking our posts: I agree a lot with everything you wrote. It's so annoying to read teenie-boppers write that their favorite is better or more popular than Mariah or that MC fans are "mean" when we're just trying to inform them of why MC is a living legend. Ariana's team are the ones putting it out there that she's the next MC. Something needs to happen to remind everyone why MC is one of a kind.

Not a mom and pop (48,611) by Dove from USA
It's not that Mariah can't be trusted to handle her own affairs and needs to be micromanaged down to the color of her panties. I just think she does need help. Even Oprah hires the best people to help her. If MC was an indie artist, just making music for the joy of it, then sales and likability by the general public wouldn't matter.
