About Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter:

Mariah and JD (56,924) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
So I saw Mariah post the lyrics to "ILT" and tag Jermaine Dupri. I'll take it as a sign that they are still on friendly terms. JD and Mariah in the studio is magical. I don't care what other lambs think, I feel like JD is one of the few genuine friends Mariah has left. They seems to understand each other professionally and personally. I hope to hear more collaborations from them. I love all the songs they wrote together.

Re: One Direction (56,910) (56,912) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Haha I am sure they had no malicious intent. However their song did actually propel Mariah's "Infinity" to #2 on the Billboard Trending chart. Which was so out of blue. I think they mixed up the songs and all the counts went to Mariah's version because other than that their was no reason for MC's infinity to be trending yesterday and that too at #2 on the Billboard trending charts.

Sam Smith (56,911) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
So Sam Smith made yet another instagram post about Mariah. It's a video this time. He has a lot of posts where he writes about how he is listening to a Mariah song and all, and then there was the picture of him buying the MIAM CD (so now we know he is a true lamb to even know about that album, since the world basically slept on this piece of art). All I have to say now is, Sam, boo, quit fooling around and get your fine self straight to the studio with Mariah. That ballad should have been recorded and released like yesterday. Seriously, they even interacted on social media. How is this still not happening?

Packer's cigarette saga (56,898) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I found it a little disrespectful too. He could have excused himself and smoked somewhere else or whatever. Instead he is sitting right next to her and smoking in the car. I am surprised Mariah was fine with it because she basically called Usher the "MF" word for smoking in the club, albeit jokingly but still. I get that a relationship is based on compromises but it should be from both sides, if Mariah isn't telling him to stop something she hates, he can be respectful and smoke when Mariah isn't around.

Mariah and James (56,860) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
When I saw the clip of Mariah at The Intern premiere and she was asked "Are you here to support your man?" She just laughed and said "It's fun." I was like huh? That's it? But then I kinda thought about it and it's good that she is taking things slowly and lightly. She just got out of a marriage of 6 years, she doesn't need to dive into another serious one immediately. At this point her main focus should be to keep herself happy and healthy for her babies and do whatever makes her feel good. Getting super serious so soon would probably just make James a rebound but it seems like they are taking their time getting to know each other which is the best way to go. She didn't get to do that with Nick. They jumped into marriage too soon and eventually the spark fizzled. James and Mariah are equals in a way, they are both successful (so no one is taking advantage), they are both close in age scale (so they are both matured and would understand each other) and they are both tall (haha joking). Anyways, I wish them both the best. They look like a good power couple together. I agree with B that she is finally in a relationship with her equal.

Re: She's at my mother effing premiere (56,837) (56,842) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Haha I picked up on that too. The moment ahe heard the word "Charmbracelet" she was truly flattered. She understood that Anne is the real deal.

Anne fangirling (56,835) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Oh my gosh look at Anne fan girl over Mariah. This is so cute. Haha she is right there but she doesn't go up to talk to her because she looks nervous. I wish they had a chat but maybe they talked later.

Re: Mimi, I beg to differ (56,828) (56,834) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I have my favorite picks from CB era too but if I have to give an overall opinion, CB is one of Mariah's bad fashion eras. That's for me of course, not saying it's the ultimate truth. I was not a fan of the sweatshirts and some of the other weird tops she brought out during that era. However I didn't see any problem with her face and body. Her body was on point, she looked youthful and sexy, the makeup was good too. This happens to be one of her best outfit-hair-makeup moments and it's from the CB era. I absolutely love the old Hollywood inspired look here.

New pictures (56,817) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Wow Mariah looks absolutely gorgeous in the new pictures. This picture of her and James is also so cute. She looks a lot slimmer and her face has become smaller. She is such a gorgeous woman. Dare I say she looks like she is on her way to her 2013 look? What I love the most about the pictures though is the fact that her smile looks genuine. She looks genuinely happy and that makes me happy. She has been through a lot this past year and she deserves to be in a good place. Also I am loving the fact that we are basically getting new Mariah photos almost everyday since she is out and about socializing. I think this is the aubergine colored version of the navy blue Alaia dress she wore a while back. Yay to them boobies deciding to stay covered. She looks a lot younger here.

Re: Picture with Stevie (56,815) (56,816) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
That picture is from the Charmbracelet era 2003. Here's the full outfit. This is one of my favorite looks of Mariah. Perfect blend of classy and sexy and one of the few times she got the fashion right during the CB era because I was not loving those sweatshirt moments.

Re: Collabs (56,810) (56,811) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Giovanni, I will actually agree with you and take Taylor off my list. Actually I just included her because she is a songwriter and Mariah respects songwriters but you are right, it would be a weird combo. Her latest song "Wildest Dreams" is not bad though. I absolutely hate her SIO. It's annoying and I don't get why people love it.

Collabs (56,806) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
If Mariah is cool with Beyonce and she wasn't referring to her as the thief, then I am still up for the MC-Bey collaboration. I think a strong female anthem or whatever these two cook up would be a chart burner. I would also love for a MC-Damita Jo moment. Two legends in one song, is the world ready? Robin Thicke, Chris Brown, Miguel and The Weeknd need to get into the studio with MC asap. I am open to a MC Britney collab, I think it could be a hot number and their styles are so different, it would be interesting. Sam Smith is another artist I would adore to hear singing on a track with Mariah. But before any other male collaborations, I would like to hear MC on a track with one of the current hot female artists, she can pick anyone (Bey, Rihanna, Taylor or whomever).

Re: The shade of it all (56,799) (56,804) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
M, that photo of Katy in front of Mariah's huge poster looks like she is praying at the Temple of Mariah. She wrote "Lambily for life" and I thought that was cute. I am not really a Perry fan, I think I just heard 3-4 of her songs, but any artist praising Mariah will be in my good books lol. Oh as for the "throwback" comment, since she is going out of her way to show her lamb status (the praying at temple picture, attending her Vegas show, posing with her afterwards, giving a shout out to Mariah) I will chalk it down to a quote taken out of context. What I think is being totally taken in the wrong way is lambs thinking that Katy shaded her with the "sit and enjoy" comment. I don't see any shade in it at all and Mariah herself acknowledged it (and we know Mariah would never tweet about it if she detected even the slightest bit of shade). I think Katy just meant to say that she wants Mariah to sit and enjoy the performance she is dedicating to Mariah for that night. Not to sit down and take a back seat forever.

Re: Faded (56,791) (56,795) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
B, the original cover (as in the cover when the album was titled TAOLG) is the same picture which was later used for the deluxe version of MIAMTEC. I like the full body shot they later used for the standard edition but the absolute best picture from that shoot is the one they used for the cover of the TAOLG single (which was her kneeling down on the beach). That picture is gorgeous.

Re: That booty though (56,773) (56,790) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Lol. Lee your post "Mariah serving some delicious cake" reminded me of Van from TMZ. She does have a bigger booty now, but Mariah's booty was always on point. That "Honey" video closeup when she is pulled on the helicopter is everything. She never got enough credit for her hot body and booty like many other things she doesn't get credit for. This woman also basically has flawless skin. Did her T-shirt at 6 flags have "I love my boyfriend" written on it? That's so cute.

Re: Article: What it's like to get a selfie with Mariah Carey (56,780) (56,781) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
It might just be like a code word or sign between her and her entourage. She has the same security for years now so they might have secret signs so that Mariah doesn't need to yell out orders in public. I doubt she would smoke knowing what it did to her previously plus didn't she stop mid concert to ask them to stop blowing smoke? So yes my bet is on it being a secret sign code.

Re: MC praises (56,777) (56,778) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I also heard that Tori Kelly is a huge fan, I didn't get to check out her songs yet. Out of all the people citing Mariah as their favorite, Justin's surprised me the most. I hope more people come out and talk about Mariah's influence. The fact that people like Beyonce and Christina said that VOL and Mariah made them decide they want to be a singer shows how much Mariah has impacted the lives of the industry's best.

Bone Thugs N Harmony (56,766) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I absolutely love Mariah's collaborations with Bone Thugs N Harmony. They just go so well together. "Breakdown" is one of my favorite MC songs of all time and I absolutely adore "Li'l L.O.V.E.". That's why I was excited to hear the new collaboration that was supposedly happening between the two. Does anyone know what happened to that? The song was supposed to be on BTNH's album which was supposed to be their last album ever (?) I think.

MC praises (56,764) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
It's nice to see current hot artists giving shout outs to Mariah or acknowledging her influence. Within this week Katy Perry gave a very public shout out to Mariah (which was well documented) and acknowledged her influence. Then we have Justin Bieber who was asked during a radio interview about who his favourite female artist is and he said Mariah Carey (which I will admit was a bit surprising for me because I did not expect it, but I was pleasantly surprised and happy). He did say even before that growing up, Mariah's music has been a big influence. I see a lot of people take Katy's comment of "sit back and enjoy" (or something like that) as a shade and honestly I don't think it's shady at all, sometimes fans just stir up rumors. Plus I find it funny that people are pissed that Katy talked about Mariah's influence. Like why? If she felt that she needed to give a shout out to Mariah it is completely her prerogative, it doesn't matter if people think some other artist had a bigger influence, Katy isn't speaking for everyone, she is speaking for herself. Same with Justin. I saw a lot of comments about why the hell did he say Mariah and not Beyonce or Ariana and I am like what is this even about? His influence, his favorite, his choice, he can name whoever the heck he wants. I swear if these shout out were to Beyonce or Taylor or anyone apart for Mariah, they wouldn't get such hate. Anyways people can stay pissed, Mariah's impact is undeniable and she is, I think the most copied artist of all time. From the use of melisma, whistle register, cut out jeans to them blinged out microphones, MC has been an influence in everything. Haters gonna hate, but Mariah's gonna get paid.

Re: Mimi L (56,744) (56,745) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Thank you for your response Andrew and I appreciate it. I think I hardly ever call you out but I did feel like writing to ask if that is really the way you wanted to question her. I might have misunderstood your post and for that I apologize. I usually try not to tell people how to behave around or feel about Mariah (I do have opinions, but those are just that). Lord knows I have been called "delusional lamb" and "hater goat" on this same board. I am definitely not one to think Mariah is flawless or blameless in everything. She is human and like everyone else she has her flaws and I call her out when I think she is at fault and then face a lot of hate too lol. I would like to explain that when I wrote "used to" it wasn't to insult you or question your devotion, I just sometimes write like that to cover both sides so that I don't have to write another post in case the person I am writing to gives the "other scenario". I know I am probably not making sense, but everything aside. I didn't mean to insult you or anyone by that post. I also didn't mean to come off like I am questioning your love for Mariah's music, because I did tell you before that I believe you do love her contrary to what people may think by your posts. I feel bad after reading the post you wrote and how you feel about her so yet again, I am sorry. Your posts directed at me has always been respectable and for that I am grateful, and so I have always tried to be respectable towards you. So yes, no hard feelings I hope.

Re: Mariah's impact (56,741) (56,743) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
LC I agree with your post, Mariah never was and still isn't given enough credit. I would like to add to the part about the Christmas album, you might already know this but still I wanted to add that at the time Mariah made that album, she said she didn't want to do it. That is because she thought it was something people do around the end of their careers not 3 years into their career. But she later agreed and now it has become a staple, so that adds to your post about how people just assume that young artists making a Christmas album is common whereas the queen of Christmas herself was hesitant when making hers because before her, it wasn't such a common practice. She made it popular, she made it look like a profitable venture that if one manages to nail a good holiday anthem, they can live off its royalty for years (unfortunately people were not successful in replicating the success). Now everyone seems to have a Christmas album or EP even before they make it big like Ariana has one, Justin Bieber, Demi, and a lot more I don't even know the names of. It does sadden me that no matter what Mariah does, people always dutifully forget to give her any credit or praise her for it. They just think of her as the big voiced diva when she is so much more than that. Her voice is only one of her many talents/contributions.

Gow (56,739) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
New picture for the ad. I love it. I like that they kept her body fairly close to her current body so we won't get the photoshop backlash and they kept her face the way it was during the time the photo was taken. It has become smaller now but heck she looks great in any shape. Warrior-Riah is coming for you.

Re: My 5 questions (56,720) (56,722) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Haha Lee you might also want to add: "And also no 'I don't know her' because I have her CD right here and I will play it for you." Lol because you know if you tell her not to say "we love everybody" she will go for the legendary "I don't know her".

Harper's Bazaar (56,716) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
So Mariah went to the HB event and she looked so good. I can't decide on whether I like the dress or not, but I have to say that she looks flawless in the pictures. Them boobies are out but it does not look bad here and look at that million dollar face. Mariah shining brighter than the diamonds around her neck. She looks so beautiful, I can't even.
