Say Somethin Solange remix (108,902)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
Terna, your MC and Solange collaboration has come to fruition. Shezz, you made of aware first about Nostradamus' X post last year. The remix hits at a different level for MC. It is so Solange. It was released last night at midnight for the TEOM 20th anniversary. Can you imagine how MC and Solange would sound together on a new song with Solange's production style?

Mariah Carey had 50-11 nose jobs but still insecure about "bad side"? (108,897)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
How could it be? MC's voice in 1995 was clear and strong. The Fantasy intro whistle is her best whistle note ever. Melt Away is pure bliss to one's ear. I just wonder now does MC has any regrets about any cosmetic surgery that she had done. I feel we will see a more open and forthcoming MC this Christmas season about a lot of things she been through since Caution's release. Some network is going to offer her a huge figure for a sitdown tell all interview this Christmas season.

Mariah Carey had 50-11 nose jobs but still insecure about "bad side"? (108,893)
by Bill from the UK
| |
|
|
Mariah came to terms with her (non-existent) bad side years ago and has said as such in her interview. It is pretty clear and obvious she has had a small nose job, and a large breast job, since 1990. The nose job is incredibly subtle but clearly impacted her voice and happened during 1995. It is obvious as it was the first major change in her voice, that became more nasally and brassy on Daydream, and lost its body. That I chalk up to the nose job. The most noticeable breast augmentation was in 1999 when Rainbow launched, but there was talk of a smaller one in 1994, but not so sure about that.

Recording contract (108,889)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
Is it possible that MC doesn't have a recording contract? It could explain why MC16 has not come to fruition. Record labels loan artists money to record an album and deliver it in a certain timeframe to the label for approval, mastering, and packaging. Surely, if she had a recording contract, MC16 would have been released by now. MC16 has been nothing but "talk" for the last 4 years. Janet Jackson is in the same situation. That is the reason why Janet keeps going on tour so much. She doesn't have a recording contract either. It was never like this in the 70s and 80s for artists when they reached the ages of MC and Janet. Will it happen to Taylor Swift in 15 years?

Edward, that was Mystikal and Master P. Walter A is not singer nor a rapper. Lol. He is only a producer, arranger, and songwriter. Are you still trying to recover from her Aussie interview? One Heart One Voice is just Barbara [sic], Mariah, and Ariana. MC described their collaboration on X as grandoise.

Aussie interview (108,859)
by Randy from USA
| |
|
|
I just watched and I have to say, this is how I see MC. She's not normally this stiff but she has been in the past. And once again, she looks absolutely gorgeous. Isn't that her brand now? Isn't that the purpose? Isn't that what's spotlighted now? Having people say she looks good is the goal. Because there is absolutely nothing else going on for her right now. But to be honest I am shocked at all these alarm bells going off. I watched the interview thinking this is her on a bad day and it's happened before. Where's the fire? You all speak of strokes, medication, grieving and I'm like, she's been like this, off and on, since 2014. But ok.

This? (108,853)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
Maybe her medication has changed recently because of still needing to cope with Patricia's death, her break-up with Tanaka, and dealing with her vocal decline. This is not the same Mariah Carey from 2018. MC has really been through a lot and she has not taken a break from performing. Creating new music in the studio has always made her happy. Plus, I think doing all of these performances lip syncing is not helping her either. When a singer knows that they used to have great vocal skills and suddenly it is gone, it can start to affect a singer mentally. This has to be how MC is feeling.

This? (108,850)
by Xavier mariohmix from Spain

Is this really the cause of all the debate? Together with the Mimi Sessions? Hey, you all. This is Mariah nowadays. Haven't you noticed? I think some of you are blowing it out of proportion (not directed at anybody specifically, ok?).
However, I've said it before and I'm gonna say it again, I don't think she should be touring this year. Instead, she should just relax and work on the new album if she really wants to release it (and treats us with some performances like the Mimi Sessions just for our entertainment because, even though they are not the best in her career, but she shows real talent and musicality in them).

She possibly had a stroke (108,831)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
I was almost in tears, Shezz. It was hard to watch MC sing in that state. I can't watch the Mimi Sessions again. And Daniel Moore was just playing away on piano knowing he could have said something 3 years ago. Live singing is not good for MC right now. I want the best for MC. I think a new album filled with all the studio magic, new technology and personal lyrics would make me so happy than her performing live. I just wonder, were the Mimi Sessions planned and created after the Lambs' reaction to the Asia shows?

She possibly had a stroke (108,821)
by Shezz from Pk
| |
|

She isn't dying, you all need to stop clutching your pearls. Highly doubtful that she'd be touring if she just had a stroke. Not all humans are created equal and not all of them age the same way. Specially ones with neurological disorders that only worsen with time. I think it's commendable she put this out. You all want her to sit down and cry on national tv about her vocal decline. She's not doing that. This is her response to all the lovers and the haters. This is her voice right now. I don't think it was half as bad as some of you think it was. Any one who has remotely followed her in the last few years wouldn't expect anything much better from a stripped performance like this. There are bigger problems in the world to lose sleep over right now. Kudos to Mariah for that honest performance that we have all wanted for a long time.

The return of the voice (108,827)
by Bobby A from United States

If MC can create the Mimi Sessions, why can't she record an album for the Lambily? I want to hear new songs to hear what she sounds like in 2025 with new technology, engineering, and instrumentation. It would help us not be so critical and possibly give us better insight through her lyrics what being Mariah Carey is like right now. I want my Butterfly MC back who gave the Lambily new music and MC's story through her lyrics. We deserve a new album after seven years.

I'm not mad at Mariah. I'm mad at the people behind the sessions, those who probably could give her honest feedback, but conveniently go with the flow instead. Michael also surrounded himself with sycophants and leeches who clap until the show was no more. You might like the sessions, but if you can't see there's something very wrong going on, I don't know what to think.

MC is becoming just a touring queen who goes on these mini tours without a new album to support her shows. I don't want to hear her sing Emotions and Hero in 2025. If she can record new vocals for a backing track, why can't she spend three-six months working her studio magic for a new album?

It is going to be released on the same day as her new album. It looks like she is going to drop the single with the album just like she did with the first Partners album. I guess Coulumbia is trying to drive album sales for a hot summer release. Pop singles from older artists on the Hot 100 typically don't do well on the chart nowadays. The Adult or Hot AC is another story.

Well, I saw Tucker Wetmore perform on Jimmy Kimmel this month. Those that know me also know lists bring me joy. For completeness, here is the current most up to date download of reasons why Mariah can't or doesn't sing anymore. Let me know if any need adding I've forgotten.
1. Ear monitor malfunction 2. No humidifiers 3. Too cold 4. Too hot 5. Stage fright 6. Corset too tight 7. Heels too high 8. Preserving her voice 9. Scared of Michael Jackson's casket 10. Didn't want to upstage the Queen of Soul 11. Wanted to respect her peers 12. Bronchitis 13. Stressful divorce/break up 14. Arm in a sling 15. Pregnant 16. Not pregnant 17. Nodules 18. Too many splashes 19. Medicated 20. Backing singers missed their cue 21. Backing singers singing her part now baby 22. Foiled by Dick Clarke Productions 23. Late for the sound check 24. I don't think she's lying about working on music, but I also don't think she's as invested in making an album. What I mean is as a songwriter she must constantly be getting tunes and lyrics in her head and she probably writes it down or does a quick demo but never actually goes full into production. I'm deducing this from her saying she has 10 songs she just needs to add vocals etc. I also think after the flop of her last few projects she's scared of releasing new stuff because no matter what people think numbers are a big deal to her, it's her flex, so she's scared of losing. But what she should know is her last few albums didn't flop because of lack of quality, it was because of wrong single choices and bad videos that no one would rewatch.

Whoever is pushing her to keep tarnishing her impressive legacy like this needs to be fired. There's clearly something off with her, and I just hope she doesn't end up like Michael and Whitney. Beyonce can lip, but at least she dances her ass off and sings her ballads live. Celine was full of energy with a huge production behind her, but Mariah didn't need all that, her voice alone carried the show. Now she just stands there and lips unconvincingly. You would think by now she would at least put on more energetic performances, invest in better production, have more moving parts on stage, or get a new choreographer. It's time to hit the gym without high heels and hit that stage like the star she is. Sadly, her performances are copy-paste jobs. You can see it in the comments on those clips, even the yass queens are starting to notice.

Do you know how you feel when you walk into a class for a test and you know you didn't study like you should have studied. MC is walking onto that stage without her voice and showmanship. She can't even pretend anymore lip syncing. We long today for performances like her MTV Unplugged concert in 1992. We were all amazed that we finally got to see how a Mariah Carey concert would look and sound like. The Proctor's Theatre concert amazed us again 1993. I just wonder if MC never toured during 1997-2003, if she would still have her 2005-2008 voice.

I believe the Elusive Chanteuse tiltle was a jab at Nick for never being at home the last year of their marriage.
