About Nikki from usa:

Seriously guys? (59,948) by Nikki from usa
People are talking like Rihanna already passed Mariah as if it were inevitable. Let's not count the chickens before they're hatched. MC was considered unstoppable once. No one anticipated Glitter would knock her so far down. No one saw her return coming either. People, especially Beatles fans, were freaking out when MC clocked her 18th #1. All the papers were headlining that MC would break the boys record before she hit 40. They claimed she was on fire and there was nothing to stop her. She was, and still is, only 2 hits away. Then, Nick happened. Rihanna has already had 11 years of unstoppable success. If MC's work rate proves anything it's what goes up must come down. The signs are already showing. Her vocals are getting into bad shape, even for her. She's resorting to attaching herself to other artists for hype. Her last body of work didn't score any #1's, which was odd for her. Her label had to have another corporation buy downloads to give away for free to grab attention and headlines. "Work" is an ok track, but it's not all that. It's running 70% on hype and momentum. So is Rihanna at this point. The real question is, how long can that continue to last? I doubt she'll make it to Mariah's crown.

A binkie? (59,648) by Nikki from usa
Question: how do we all know it's a pacifier? I thought it was a ring pop. Mariah loves those and their bottoms are green. They have a ring on the bottom so you can wear it like a ring. I can't conclusively see what's in his mouth. He's far away and it's poor resolution.

My next Mariah (59,497) by Nikki from usa
I would like MC to redefine "diva" as I stated in my last post. She's always having her stats stated, but we're a visual culture. Peeps don't read these days. She needs to show people how she did it instead of the end result. I never understood why MC always complained about no one knowing her songwriting status. She doesn't talk about songwriting, just that she does it. MC's not on interviews talking about creating her favorite song, her process, or how she came up with it. We're not seeing her in specials behind the scenes. We used to get sneak peaks back in the day even though they were minor. They're non existent now. Yet, she makes up songs on stage and has no problem free styling. Music is a communication tool. Rich or poor, everyone has been through love problems. It's universal. No matter your job or status, you get stressed and just want to party or unwind. It's universal. This has been Mariah's strength. She's humble too. "Sometimes there's more fans and sometimes there's less fans." "You can't always be on top, you can't predict it, and you can't control it. All I can do is eat, dance, drink, and have fun. You like it? Good. You don't? Goodbye." If this side of her were more prevalent and she really showcased her artistry and knowledge I think the GP would be eating out of the palm of her hand.

Mariah being seen and not heard (59,495) by Nikki from usa
Spears had a few specials with the announcement of her residency and a lot of front covers of magazines along with press conferences. Today I see J.Lo on a cover at the store. Celebs brand themselves and propel an image they want the public to see them as. They use the media to their advantage in this way. It helps to combat all the batshit crazy the gossip mills spew. Mariah hasn't done this in eons. She simply has "quiet success" with her residency. I saw on the stand today a little section in the corner of a magazine that "Mariah demanded a 10 million ring". The general public actually believes that Mariah made Nick her slave and is making demands to Packer about what gifts she wants. To say people think she's self-absorbed is putting it mildly. But, there's nothing to counter it. Mariah stays quiet while the media continues to play. There's not enough coming from Mariah in these Mariah stories. The media has destoryed her image over the past 7 years and she hasn't countered it. She needs to return to the limelight and speak on her own behalf in all media forms. She's been the girl next door, hip-pop queen, and been emancipated. But, who is she now? You want women respected in Hollywood MC? Then, drop the ditzy diva act and back up your talent. I hope songwriter/ producer/ director/ singer is next along with a well deserved look at your 20 years of philanthropy. Show your business side, no one survives 25 years in a cut throat industry by being a moron. Re-define diva, please.

Re diversity (59,494) by Nikki from usa
Andrew, I'm not sure why your definition of diversity is white. Your only concern is for white people in Mariah's mix. That's not diverse. What's more is you seem repeatedly overly concerned about how many are black. You got a problem? Let me put your mind to rest. Tommy Mottola - white. Nick Cannon - black. Luis Miguel - latino. Derek Jeter - as mixed as MC. James Packer - white. See? Your white boys are still in the lead and Mariah's had diversity.

Opulence vs. extravagance (59,437) by Nikki from usa
It was funny when MC and Nick broke up how Wendy was claiming Mariah was old and no one would want her. Then, she broke the news of her dating Packer and claimed Packer was using her for fame. She said MC was "fragile" and hoped she didn't fall in love because James is a playboy and not interested in the long term. They get engaged and Wendy won't even report it. Mariah's concerts and tours have always been bare-boned. It's always centered around her voice with limited bells and whistles. It would be nice if MC would up her game in the visual areas for a show's entertainment quality, but I wouldn't hold my breath. It took Celine 3 years before critics agreed the show no longer overshadowed her singing. Either you sing live with magnificent vocals or you rely on performance. Take a look at J.Lo hosting the AMA's and MC's dress at the Billboard Awards. She threw shade at Mariah's residency with her Spears comment too and now she's naming her own after the music video that had LL Cool J throwing a butterfly into a fire. J.Lo's first attempt at a residency was rejected for asking too much money. The fact is her only world tour didn't sell well. She held a concert with 25,000 free tickets in her home town and less than half showed up. They thought she was fake and a sell out. She's going to Vegas to cash in on tourists which is her best bet. I wouldn't worry about it.

Loverboy unremembered (59,218) by Nikki from usa
Kay, we got to get a few things straight with this track. Mariah received the Most Requested Song of the year award for Loverboy from Radio Music Hall. The track was the most requested song of the year in the US. It was the best selling track of the year. Loverboy was never discounted. The original sold for 99 cents due to the fact Mariah's maxi single had 13 tracks and sold for a whopping $13 a pop. It was nearly the price of an actual album which is why the original and its remix was sold for so cheap. The maxi and original were released the same day as the Bootylicious original and their $8 maxi single. They, too, sold their track for 99 cents debuting on the same day Mariah's did. Mariah still outsold them 2/1 and every other single of 2001. I'm Real flopped real quickly which was the whole reason why Mariah's If We concept along with Ja Rule were stolen to get a #1 track. Things look a bit weird when every journalist is omitting an expensive maxi single from existing or the fact her competition is selling singles the same day with the same deals. However, the fact Wendy Williams admitted she was offered payment for trash talking makes things a bit clear. Mark my words, if Mottola were still ruling Sony in 2005, Mariah would've never been emancipated either.
