Please know that God loves you. I know this because I've felt God's love and can tell you that it's inclusive and good. It does not condemn or judge. Please don't forget about your spiritual side because you think God is not for you. My brother came out in college and it was very hard for him because we grew up in a very Christian home. The whole time he lived at home he couldn't say anything because he was afraid the family would reject him. After he left he turned away from God and made some bad choices. He wanted to feel loved and accepted and turned to drugs and promiscuity. It hasn't turned out well. He is a genius with a kind heart and so many talents but he is trapped. I still have hope that he will rise above. I know right now society treats LGBT as scapegoats but don't let those people be a reflection of what God is about. God does not make mistakes and you are beautiful and perfect and loved just the way you are. God loves you so much. I am a mother and I love my son so incredibly much and I am a mere mortal. I cannot imagine God's love for us. Do not be ashamed and do not let anyone take your light. Always choose love; ie. what is the loving thing to do that will heal and uplift? When people say hurtful things to you, forgive them, and let it go. They don't understand God's love and they are doing the best they can with what they do know. Don't let others tell you who you are. If you don't believe, ask God to show you his love. Please forgive me if I overstepped.

Britney For The Record (46,563)

Did you guys ever watch this documentary? It reminded me of Mariah and how the media seems to be against her right now. When I watched this it made me sympathize with Britney and like her. Maybe Mariah can do something like this for her comeback next year. Britney has always had a good marketing team.

Oprah (46,557)

One thing I will always remember about Oprah that impacted my life was when she said the 50's were the best years of her life and life only got better as we age. I was 21 at the time and I felt so unafraid of growing older after hearing her say that with such conviction. Like growing older was something exciting to look forward to. I agree that Oprah could be an amazing mentor for Mariah. Mimi L I don't blame her either for getting lost, I still get lost sometimes, it's easy to fall into. We just have to help each other out and gently wake each other up. Thank you again everyone who responded to my post. I agree with everything you guys wrote and it seems like we all feel similarly about the matter. I was so afraid to come back and check the comments today, so thanks for being gracious. Nikki I love that YT video you posted.

Thanks, you guys for getting me. When Mimi L mentioned Mariah may be reading our forum, it made me think about what I would like to tell her. Not because I think I know everything, but just gently and humbly from one soul to another. If I ever met her I would not be able to tell her these suggestions to her face because I couldn't live with myself if what I said caused her pain and I had to see any trace of hurt on her face. But Mariah, if you are reading this, I will always support you no matter what road you decide to take. Because I love and appreciate you and your artistry.

My last post (46,532)
by Dove from USA

I just read my last post and realized it sounds really mean and judgemental. I apologize if I offended anyone, that was not my intention. It was just what was on my mind, uncensored. I do that sometimes, I'll write something, and it feels right, but then when I read it later, I realize it could be misinterpreted. I didn't mean to offend so I apologize in advance if I did.

Thoughts (46,527)
by Dove from USA

Oprah and Jason Mraz are not conventionally beautiful but to me they are two of the most beautiful celebrities because they are beautiful on the inside. They try to enlighten the collective conscious and spread the message of love. Pure, true love, not just heartbreak and pain. Celebrity is like The Hunger Games, you have to make people like you. People respond to others who are genuine and good, people who care about others. But it has to be genuine, we cam smell BS. I think the reason Mariah is not as popular anymore is because the general public doesn't like her. I often read what people comment on articles about her and it's always the same themes: she has a huge ego, she's in love with herself, she dresses too sexy for her age and size, she can't sing anymore, she's boring, she's crazy, she's out of touch with reality, she's a diva (aka word that rhymes with witch), etc. You all know what I'm talking about. I believe that Mariah has a pure, loving heart but she has forgotten about the stuff that matters because right now she is lost in the superficial. I think maybe she lives in her own world and it would benefit her to visit some third world countries, maybe with Oprah. And do other things outside of herself. Just to see how other people live so that she can see that life is not all about being sexy and young. True beauty comes from within and she is more than her looks or her voice. I think it's time to grow and evolve. Her core fans are not teeny boppers anymore. We agree that outwardly, she is beautiful as she is, she looks better than most people, but outward beauty shouldn't be that important. A lot of fans have outgrown her and the young kids have their own artists their own age group that they look up to. I am ready for some songs with a different theme: a theme of empowerment, and love that isn't romantic. Love for life and for the world. Love for self. Embrace your age, getting older is a privilege denied to many. Be thankful you can afford to eat amazing food. I think if she looked comfortable in her skin while wearing bathing suits people wouldn't attack her so much.

I agree, I really like that video. It's really fun to watch and Mariah looks amazing. She looks like a real Barbie doll. I especially like the red gown. She's smiling and looks genuinely happy. We don't get that smile too often anymore. I like that the set is simple because when I used to play with my Barbie's, I didn't have a real store, so I had to use what I had and let my imagination do the rest. Also, I bought a lot of my early Mariah music at Target (no joke) so the red and white brings back those memories. I honestly don't understand why people don't like it.

Kim Kardashian (46,460)
by Dove from USA
| |
|
|
This is kinda old news but it just occurred to me that maybe the reason Mariah was more upset about Kim Kardashian than the other other ladies NC mentioned in the infamous interview is because what he said about Kim was pretty harsh. All of the women he listed are beautiful and I highly doubt Mariah is jealous of any of them. She's Mariah Carey. I'm not the biggest fan of Kim (to me she seems a little narcasistic) but those comments hurt me as a woman. I've known people in my life who others consider whores but they are people just looking for love and acceptance. Being the kind-hearted, classy woman Mariah is, I don't think she would be cool with her husband demeaning an ex-girlfriend to the public.

Nick's Saved cap (46,449)

Honestly, when I saw it, I didn't even think it could be about Mariah. I thought it was more for his dad since he was getting a lot of attention the last few days. If you look at James Cannon's Facebook, he is a Jesus freak. So I though Nick was making light of the whole situation by saying he's saved.

I listened to her album again this morning and honestly, other than the whistle, I don't think she sounds like Mariah. To me she sounds more like Brandy. She reminds me of Mariah because she's pretty, and seems sweet, and she has the whole Daydream/Butterfly look going. But nobody sings like Mariah. I see her having a career like Christina Aguilera.

Pizza with kids pictures (46,441)
by Dove from USA

She looked great in the black and white dress. The posters on the article were saying it looked staged, that she was over dressed, and that the pap never took pictures of them before so why now. Everyone dresses up in New York, and maybe they're going after her now to try to get a statement, or maybe it is staged because she wants everyone to see that she's okay. I don't find anything wrong with that. She looked great, that dress was flattering and appropriate. And the kids are so cute.

Thoughts (46,404)

I'm glad we got to see in the TMZ clip that Mariah seems to be fine. It kind of worried me that she had no security, though. It made me think of John Lennon (knock on wood). I agree with the poster who said she doesn't owe us an explanation regarding her private life. I think she's doing the best thing by laying low and letting things settle down. Also, glad they're staying amicable, it's great for the kids when parents are able to do that. Even though a world tour would be great, I would understand if she needed to take some time off right now.

I love this performance. It's one of my favorites of hers. As far as the vocalists you mentioned: I like Leona Lewis too, she seems really sweet and she can sing. I'm surprised she's not more famous. I love Kelly Clarkson, ever since American Idol, she just seems like such a cool, down to earth person, and her voice is super powerful. I like Ariana Grande's voice, I love her YouTube cover of Where the Boys Are. I liked Lady Gaga's first album and the song Speechless but haven't bought anything of hers in a while. She just got too Halloween-y for my taste. I wonder if they will ever revive Divas Live? That would be cool to watch. The other current artists I love right now are Lorde and Taylor Swift. I love Taylor's vibe and that she seems humble and real and her songs are fun. I like that she's not overly sexual like the other young stars. Lorde's music doesn't sound like anything that's out right now. Honestly, I love all kinds of music. Right now I'm more into the light, being content with yourself, happy stuff.

Nick's dad (46,304)
by Dove from USA
| |
|
|
Didn't Nick know before they got married that Mariah couldn't have ten kids? They were lucky they had the two, especially with all of the complications with her pregnancy. Whatever, Nick can go find a "slim women" to have ten kids for him. In the comments people were going off on Cannon senior and he responded by saying something along the lines of if the shoe fits it will hit you and if you're not doing those things or using drugs you have nothing to worry about. Right before he posted these "questions" he posted pictures of Nick and Mariah so they were clearly on his mind when he decided to post these questions from this old book of his. Why now? Some of his "questions" we could clearly connect to Mariah and Nick so when we read the others we naturally assume they were about them too. He called a poster "an ass" for assuming it was about people "she thinks she knows" but it was clearly posted with that intention.

Oh my goodness. Wow that did hurt. That man does not have Jesus's love in his heart. He claims it's not about Mariah but why would anyone say those hurtful, judgemental things about anyone? He's not Jesus. And he wrote a book, there are actually people out there who follow this line of thinking. I hate to say it but Nick and his dad are coming off as ignorant brutes.

Thanks May, I hope you're right. I think you are. I was having a typical emotional upset. I like what you guys wrote about Mariah's lyrics, they are like poetry. Thanks, Abraham, I like your list too. I hadn't heard some of the songs you listed but I looked them up and they were very Mariah. I especially liked Love Is On The Way. When I first heard Halo by Beyonce and We Found Love by Rihanna I wished they were Mariah songs. I also for the longest time wanted Mariah to cover The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face but Leona Lewis already covered it. That song reminds me of when my son was born, I used to sing it to him when he was a baby. But Roberta Flack's is pretty perfect so now I'm glad MC didn't cover it.

Random thoughts (46,265)
by Dove from USA

Mariah won my heart when I was a little girl and she will always be my pretty, cool, older sister; just like Robbin Williams is the father of all of us kids who grew up watching his movies. Maybe I don't know her in real life but I feel like I do know her. When bad things happen to her or I see that she doesn't look well or happy it makes me sad too. I want what's best for her. She has given me so much and I feel like she deserves to be happy and loved. I was listening to her Christmas albums today and I cried. I just thought; what if she falls into a downward spiral, like so many other celebrities have, and she's unable to come back from it. When you look at the pattern of other icons, it's hardly ever good: Michael Jackson, Elvis, Judy Garland, Marilyn Monroe, etc. What does celebrity do to them? It's like they just blow up and when they get too big they just explode. I sincerely hope she will be okay. For some reason I'm not too worried about Nick.

I just remembered (46,245)
by Dove from USA

That a few months ago at the BET awards Zebdeya asked about career advice and Nick said, "Save your money, save your money, and..." "Save your money?" Zendaya interjected. "Marry well," Nick joked, giving a shoutout to Mariah. "Hey baby," Nick said, looking into the camera and waving. He had a smirk on his face and now we know why. This breaks my heart because it makes me think that maybe he was just in it for the money and fame after all. If he were a gentleman he wouldn't take any of her money. It was so tacky when Nick Lachey took a bunch of Jessica Simpson's money. Nick has those 75 million he reportedly made since he's been married to Mariah. I guess we will see what kind of man he is as it all unfolds.

Seperation comments (46,243)
by Dove from USA

I didn't want to comment but I am. My divorce just finalized on Monday, after 12 years together, so I feel them. We went to eat afterwards, and it was so sad letting that chapter end. Even though we knew we shouldn't be together anymore, it still hurts, especially because of our son. My heart is breaking for them. I don't want to see her a drunken mess, not sleeping, and rambling. I want her to be happy and at peace. Wearing normal clothes, doing the ice bucket challenge, smiling and being okay, and nominating Nick Cannon because they are going to remain friends. It was beautiful while it lasted. She looked so happy and in love for a while and that was a gift.

Obsessed, TMB, and Faded (46,165)
by Dove from USA
| |
|
|
Obsessed and Touch My Body are actually two of my least favorite songs of hers. On my perfect set list I added the hook: "Touch my body, put me on the floor, wrestle me around, play with me some more, touch my body, throw me on the bed, I just want to make you feel like you never did, etc." Because I like the lusty mood of it and I think it goes with the sensual/infatuation mood of #Beautiful and Your Girl. It's a shout out without going into the whole song. I also like that she doesn't whisper the hook. Obsessed has a good beat and it's a fun song, I think it would sound good after Thirsty. But from my set list it's the next song I would have taken off. After reading the post about Faded, I can see how Sent From Up Above and Alone in Love are similar to Faded. I almost changed the medley on my set list but I added I Only Wanted instead because it has a similar theme and Charmbracelet wasn't getting any love on my list. I can see the Don't Forget About Us similarity now too.
