TR (44,315) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I actually happen to really enjoy both Money and To The Floor. And Mariah also only one verse repeated twice in Dedicated so ya. But overall Money is really catchy. As far as the missing lyrics, I feel your pain, I have been trying to catch some of the ad libs for so long but they are really hard to understand. Anyways I don't know if you know this, but a fan did ask Mariah about the the CD not having the lyrics and she said that she is aware of it and that she has something planned for it. Now what is the grand plan is beyond me. The CD is already out, why hold back on the lyrics even if you plan to re-release? This era really is getting messy. Every once in a while I get my hopes up when they start a little promo, like all the surprise magazine covers released just before the previous release date (May 6th) and then nothing. How can they let such an opportunity slide? (Friday 30 May 2014; 16:31)

That sky blue dress (44,307) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I absolutely loved the dress Mariah wore to the Fresh Air event. The color is gorgeous, a much needed break from the same black gown routine. She looks good. This hair makes her face a little narrower than the curls. I hope she seriously starts wearing more colorful pieces like she did in AI. The gloves were not working, but hey if its there to remind her to exercise her hands than I can overlook it. Mariah actually is not in a really bad shape, she is fine, it's just that her face is really bloated. It's the same as her TEOM era. Anyways she looked great in the sky blue dress. A little less cleavage would be nice, but yes that won't happen. But stick to colors Mimi, the constant black gowns are almost making things look funeral-like. (Friday 30 May 2014; 14:34)

It's very believable that she may want to jump labels but abandoning a project (something she could have just put together in months yet she took 5 years) is something I will never understand. I don't think any artist would want their album to be labelled a flop, especially someone with a decorated career like Mariah. And also since her last album underperformed, all eyes are on this album. If she misses this opportunity too, then it'll be sad because people already wrote Mariah off, and now they'll do it more. And the point you raised about Rainbow's promotion is also true. It's an album, which according to Mariah's interview feels like she was not very attached to and yet she promoted it a lot. I particularly remember Heartbreaker being promoted on everyone and their granny's shows. And that album managed to pop out 2 US #1 singles. Coming to 2014, an album which Mariah says is so close to her heart, and something she spent so many years perfecting, is being ignored. God knows what is wrong. It's a solid album. Non-lambs are liking the music but obviously if you are giving out no info whatsoever, apart from a lonely iTunes banner and a couple of BTS shots on your facebook, the GP will remain unaware. I love the pictures he chose (yes they can be easily obtained from screenshots, but whatever). The boxing, the idea of placing the CD, everything looks so good. I want it. Get me off this label (44,266) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter A lot of people are saying that MC is not promoting the album and her singles because she doesn't care and just wants to get off the label. While it may be true that she wants to get out, but I don't believe that she doesn't care about her album bombing. Come on, we are talking about a woman who is terribly self conscious and is used to bragging about her #1 hits (I am not saying this negatively, it's just a fact), so it's hard for me to see why Mariah would just sit and allow her albums to bomb because at the end of the day, we may blame the record company for not doing it's work, but the GP and critics and chart positions will scream "the MC album flopped" not that the "Island album flopped". People are negative about Mariah as it is, would she really want to tarnish her legacy further by giving out an under performing album (despite the fact that she worked night in and night out to turn it into a masterpiece)? I don't know what's wrong, but I won't buy it that MC doesn't care what happens to the album. (Thursday 29 May 2014; 15:45)

And I laughed out loud at the parts where he was singing TAOLG while running and the part where MC and Robert started talking about how dumb the record company is for not releasing some good singles. She looked like a kid complaining to her friend about a teacher that didn't give good marks lol. I know I have said this many times, but seriously where are the promos? Why isn't she scheduled on Ellen, Kimmel, Fallon and all the other interviews in the world? Why are there no more magazine articles? And where is the "lead" single. Yes yes I know #Beautiful is the official lead, but that was a year ago, and YME was downgraded to buzz single so that's gone too. So where is the single that will launch this album? The dress (44,215) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Although I agree with the person writing below about getting tired of all the black gowns, I have to say I am not a fan of the dress she wore while accepting the speech. Seriously, Mariah has access to the best designers and yet her outfits are not that great. Last year (especially during AI) she had some really great outfits, which were pretty, sexy and classy at the same time. I am guessing she wears the black ones to look slim, but she should seriously move on to colorful or gold/silver numbers. The award acceptance outfit was horrible. I get it that Mariah will always want to look sexy, but that dress did nothing for her. She could have instead opted for a long champagne gown with crystal work or whatever. She needs to draw the line between sexy and tacky. I don't understand how a woman who is so classy (the way she speaks, the way she moves, and everything) can end up in such ridiculous outfit. it's something I would expect Nicki Minaj or Lady Gaga to wear. Not Mariah. Anyways all that said, I am really looking forward to watching her performance and I am seriously concerned about the lack of promotions. Do they expect the album to sell just based on Mariah's brand? Because that won't happen unfortunately. At a time when the promotions should be at the highest level, we are barely seeing M anywhere. It's sad how somehow all her latest efforts are being ignored by the GP simply because her team is not making any efforts to get it any attention. (Wednesday 28 May 2014; 19:08)

Mahone (44,163) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Ugh the guy needs to be taken down. All the teenage girls in USA must be on a download overload from the moment he released the album. I'm happy to see that Mariah's album is atleast still at number 2, and ahead of Coldplay. The other 3 versions of the album are also grabbing chart spots in the top 200, so the total can put Mariah higher. Excited about the WMAs performance. I'm sure the publicity will boost the sales. So Mariah should focus on giving a killer performance. I hope the next single is announced very soon accompanied by a video of TEOM level. (Tuesday 27 May 2014; 16:47)

It's your opinion and you are entitled to it but I seriously don't understand what you hate so much about the album. I think it caters to the diverse tastes of her fans. There's something for everyone. I can understand if you hate some songs, but the whole album? Seriously? The critics and most importantly majority of her fans have loved the album and place it in their top 5, even going as far as comparing it to Butterfly and Music Box. Anyways so did you predict Bangerz will be a number 1 album? I'd say Mariah has a really good chance provided she goes on a promotion overload. Sadly nowadays only good music doesn't cut it, it has to be backed up by strong promotion. (Tuesday 27 May 2014; 12:29)

iTunes USA (44,134) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Wow Chanteuse is number 4 on the US iTunes charts (it was number 3 just a while back). US lambs please do your part and take it to number 1. I am hoping for a #1 debut, but in case that's not possible, our girl at least deserves this album to eventually top the charts. Money (44,063) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Wow this song really is catchy. Although it took me 3 listens (I skipped over the first 2 times mid way). I am in love with the chorus. Yes yes it's the clichéd money don't matter song but it sounds great. MC, Fab and HB did great. Faded is song I am obsessed with. It's so beautiful. I love it. Mariah really outdid her self this time around. I hope this album catapults her back to the top. She deserves it. Beyonce's hugely successful album (mainly due to the shock value) only had like about 5 good songs out of 17. Mariah's album is perfection. I can't wait to see her perform these and also very excited for what singles she chooses and music videos. I hope the videos are not along the same line as her recent ones. Someone please call Brett Ratner. Mariah said she has plans of releasing the lyrics in a different way. Wonder what she means. (Saturday 24 May 2014; 15:15)

Gilbert and G.G. (44,017) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Gilbert, yes you are right the song actually has been ruined. When I first heard Mariah was collaborating with R Kelly, I thought it would be interesting, then came the news that they will just work on the BGK remix and I was still interested because I absolutely adore that song (I actually love the whole album). I hope for a resung song, but like you said, it was a copy paste job. I really enjoyed the H.A.T.E.U. remix because it was completely different from the original ballad. The IAW remix also was not great for me because I didn't enjoy it, why does Mary need to sing that part? The situation is about MC. The deluxe edition is kind of a waste, I am sure she had many unheard songs she could have use (including stuff she scrapped off from the initial tracklist of TAOLG). G. G. Because that's a fake one with WBT mashed up with a rap which uses the words "Money" a lot. The real version is different. It's still really rap heavy, but Mariah's verses are not from WBT. Disappointment (44,012) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter So I heard the 2 remixed tracks from MOAIA in the deluxe version and I am a little disappointed. I was hoping that Mariah re-sang the song and turn it into a completely different song like she did with her previous remixes. But sadly her parts are the same. The guests just have their own verses placed in the song. Very much UOOMF with Nicki Minaj and Angels Cry with Ne-yo. R Kelly has a great voice but his verse doesn't even make sense. Talking about being date raped (well almost). And please, Mariah sings how she caught them "in my own bedroom" and he is going on about how he was at the other girl's house when he caught them. And his explanation about how he went there to meet the girl just "to chill" is supposed to make it okay? Jeez. And just like the previous song, Mariah says "to be continued". That part should also have been left out. It's fine in the original song, but not this version. So yes I am a little disappointed. (Thursday 22 May 2014; 21:28)

Supernatural and dembabies (43,991) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I would just want to start off by saying that song is beautiful. The lyrics, the production and the vocals, everything is perfect. Mariah has mentioned many times that it is a song she wrote for the twins. So that was sweet, the song is way better than the song Blue by Beyoncé. Anyways I know a lot of people are complaining over dembabies giggling throughout the track, but I honestly feel that their voices in the record makes it so personal. It's like Mariah is giving us a part of her life, showing us how she spends time doting on her babies. The song feels like a lullaby and I keep imagining the scene as Mariah putting the kids to bed singing this lullaby and they are giggling and singing along with her. It sounds really sweet. Another thing, Mariah keeps saying she started singing since the age of 4 and she also says that her kids have already started showing musical talents so maybe this was her way of showcasing/showing off her kids, proving she so proud of them. Also Mariah may have wanted to create a song, a special one, just for her twins and she included them on it so that years later they can look back at this song and cherish the memories. I think it was a great idea. People may not enjoy it but I loved it. (Thursday 22 May 2014; 12:06)

MIAM (43,970) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I gave the album a couple of more listens and I must say I loved it. At first listen, I honestly skipped some songs, but after 3 plays I loved it. I need some time to get used to OMT, Meteorite and Heavenly. Although I already partially like Meteorite. All the songs in the album are pure perfection. Shows how much emotion and attention she put in every line of every song. Flawless. Some people are complaining about her voice sound hoarse or whatever but I think it adds depth to her emotional songs, I like it when her voice sounds raw instead of super polished in the more emotional songs because that shows she is feeling every bit of it. This album is truly a masterpiece. A mash up of Daydream, Butterfly, TEOM and Memoirs. Now all she needs is to promote the hell out of it because otherwise such a gem would go unnoticed. iTunes chart (43,870) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter The album is slowly rising up the iTunes chart. Currently sitting at number 22. Seems like a lot of people liked it. By the way, Supernatural is so precious. So adorable. And the lines that Monroe sings at the end and the little conversation between Mariah and dem babies sound so natural. Single or not? (43,772) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Both the songs are great, and the theories suggesting that Mariah is performing new songs without releasing them to boost album sales. I don't understand why there was an official cover art for Thirsty ready the first time it was debuted? Was it the plan that it would be released as a single but then she decided to instead use the buzz as a way to boost her album? Like someone else mentioned, maybe she will release singles after the release of the album, and if fans have ideas about video concepts Mariah should be open to it because a good video attracts the YouTube views and can really help her achieve a #1 single. Although that might really be hard these days because Beyonce's much hyped lead single couldn't reach #1 even with the help of Jay-z and the weird remix with Kanye. (Saturday 17 May 2014; 22:29)

Multiple covers (43,740) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter So I was wondering if anyone else noticed it but the 3 different covers of Elusive seems to resemble some of Mariah's previous ones. Like obviously a lot of people noticed that the Japanese/Target edition is like Charmbracelet. But then the standard edition is very TEOM (with the golden hues around her and her outfit and the similar pose with her entire body in view). Finally the deluxe edition is very Mariah Carey (the first album I mean) as in the same pose, head shot (left side of the face), and strands of hair blowing over her face slightly. I don't know, just thought it was fun. I liked it when Mariah re-shot some of her previous photoshoots for Memoirs (although the innocence of the original Butterfly album shoot was replaced by the over sexualized outfit and a huge fake smile if that makes sense). iTunes chart (43,718) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter It seems like everytime Mariah performs a song or previews a song from the new album, her album steadily rises up the iTunes sales charts. Currently it's at 29 on US charts. A few days back it had fallen off the top 200 but as soon as the hype with Thirsty came about, it shot straight up to 39. Then it started falling again and today it's at 29. So MC should take note and promote the hell out of this album. Release YDK or Thirsty, keep attending shows and her album will stay in the top 10.
