Billboard cover (42,977) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I think the Billboard cover is an outtake from the same photoshoot as the one used on the cover of TAOLG single. Because in the coloured version, the outfit she is wearing has a similar strap and neckline as that of TAOLG cover. (Monday 28 April 2014; 8:40)

Magazines (42,976) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I am happy that just before the album is coming out, MC is being featured on the cover of magazines atleast. But why isn't MC doing promotional photos particularly for these magazines? The picture for the Observer is from 2012's or 2011's shoot for Shape magazine. The picture on Billboard is an outtake from her album shoot. Apparently she was supposed to have a photoshoot and sit-in interview for Billboard but Roc kicked her on the nose the night before and her nose swelled up somewhat. But if Mimi can perform with a broken arm, couldn't she do a small photoshoot and let them photoshop away the flaws? I don't like it when they use old photos for new events. A probable pushback (42,959) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Someone on this board mentioned a few posts below that the Observer states the album is out late May. I just went through the scans of Mariah's Billboard interview and in one of the pictures (the coloured version of the cover) there are 3 circles, one that has July 2013 written in it and then cut off with a red line (meaning cancelled), the second with May 6, 2013 written in it and then another red line through it and a final circle with the words "release date late May" or something like that. So either Mariah's management is trying to keep the fans guessing or the album will be out later in May. At this point I don't care, I just want good music and chart success for her. Also, it's written in the interview that the cover for the magazine is an outtake from her album shoot so fingers crossed for an equally fresh and classy album cover. And about people constantly talking about not buying the album, look it's your decision, but there's no need to come here every second day and start talking about how you won't buy it. If you decide not to buy, good for you, if not, move on. We are all disappointed/ anxious about the lack of information regarding the album, but let's not forget we have loved this woman for years and if she is not giving out details, she maybe has a plan and wants it to go accordingly. Album (42,937) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I can't wait for more details on the album and its release. Mariah spent so much time on it, I expect really good songs. But more than that I'm just "thirsty" for some new MC songs. I won't bother trying to guess the name of the album, it can be anything, so I'll just wait. I hope the cover is nice and classy. I still am rooting for Beyonce to be the surprise guest star. I think a duet with the two of them can burn the charts down. The Justin Bieber rumour, I don't know if it's true, but even if he is on the album I don't mind as long as he isn't the prized surprise guest. This album is really important for Mariah and I really hope it goes to number one and also that she picks up atleast one number 1 single from this album which will definitely get her back to the top where she deserves to be. She said that Stevie is on the album but only plays the harmonica, he has no vocals (which is sad, it would have been great if he did sing). Blah (42,835) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter G.G. I agree with you, if not any details Mariah can atleast write something addressing the fans. Instead she is completely ignoring us. I love Mariah, but this is annoying me to the extreme. With about 2 weeks left, we are left blank. Why did she suddenly decide to pull a Beyonce? (Assuming that's what all the silence is about.) Why announce a date and then disappear and let websites do mysterious things like pulling out the album release from the listings and all. I can't say I'll ignore the album when it comes out, because God knows I love Mariah's work, but this is no way to treat fans. Lets not be blind, Mariah isn't as relevant today as she used to be, and if she starts enraging her remaining fans, it wouldn't be a good move. I hope to God, Mariah does something and makes all the wait and patience worth it. (Wednesday 23 April 2014; 18:30)

Album (42,800) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I sure hope that all the silence and rumors about the album delay are just planned strategies that Mariah and her team cooked up, because I will be really disappointed if Mariah doesn't release the album on the announced date. And the excuses that she wants to focus on her family and is only doing the album to get out of the contract doesn't cut it. If that was the case she would have released whatever material she recorded in over four years and get it done with. Plus she is the one who said multiple times that she intends to tour to support this album. Blaming JD isn't enough, yes he is partially responsible but if M doesn't give the green light JD can't do much. We fans deserve to know what on earth is going on with the album because we have been waiting patiently for it. She has been hyping it up since summer 2012. It's getting annoying. I love MC but it'll be sad if she doesn't go ahead with the release date. I really wanted her to reclaim her throne this time like she did with TEOM. Please MC, show the world what you are capable of, I want you back on number 1. (Tuesday 22 April 2014; 21:26)

SweetheartAaron / Holly (42,593) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Aaron, thank you very much. I enjoyed the episode, I have been waiting for it for a while. Holly, "Thirsty" and "Dedication" have been confirmed many times and "Kick rocks" was mentioned by Mariah in an interview, although I didn't pick up on it, but some lambs pointed it out. The other songs are rumored and "Make it look good" was in the leaked track list which now seems kinda legit since some of the songs in the list are actually being talked about (including the Stevie duet). But some of the songs on the list may be replaced with the 3 new songs Mariah supposedly recorded in the past few months. (Friday 11 April 2014; 21:22)

Mariah's update (42,490) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Apparently Mariah is still "prepping songs for mixing". So the album is not finished yet? With exactly a month to go. At this point I think we can be pretty sure she is going to stick to the announced date. What concerns me though, is that if she is still working on the album, she might again be unprepared and have to rush things along which is not good. One would expect by now that she has the album completely ready, with cover photo and promotional photos finalized and would now be focusing solely on how to market and promote the album. Anyways someone did mention on this board at Mariah probably doesn't need much time to mix and master, I hope that's the case. (Saturday 5 April 2014; 15:55)

Mariah (42,469) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter So Mariah is working with Terry Richardson for her photoshoot for Wonderland magazine. He's known to be a little on the shady side, taking provocative pictures. In one of the instagram shots, it appears as though Mariah is in a 2 piece lingerie under an unbuttoned trench coat. Heartbreaker (42,426) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I don't know if some of you know this, but there is an alternate version of the music video of Heartbreaker. the alternate version is mostly the same as the official version, but in the alternate version they actually have a scene (the Jay-Z rap part) of Jay-Z and Mariah paying homage to the Scarface bathtub scene. However due to legal issues, the Jay-Z version video could not be released and if they wanted it, they would have to wait a while so Mariah instead released the infamous animated version. I found the video years back when I was educating myself on all things Mariah, anyways I can't find that link, but here's a video of the two versions being played side by side, if you all skip to the rap part, you'll see the difference. Album (42,425) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Ugh MC's latest update is about her dance remixes for YME. I'm a little disappointed. We have zero info on the new album, not even an album cover or title or tracklist. I was hoping she released a new single, but chances of that are slim. (Tuesday 1 April 2014; 19:55)

Nck Cannon (42,380) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Wow, I was so shocked when I saw the interview. That was so disrespectful. I honestly don't know any of Nick's work and didn't even know about him prior to his marriage to Mariah. But he always sounded so well-mannered and in love with M, so I thought he's good for and to her. What he did in that interview was disgusting. I thought he was a gentleman, but he not only was super disrespectful to MC, but also to all the women in his life who, probably at one point of time made him happy. I can think of a million ways he could have dodged that question and saved MC from all the embarrassment. Also no matter what went wrong between him and his previous romances, no woman deserves to be talked about in public like that, that includes Kim. Nick now sounds like a teenage boy who wants to brag about his "achievements in the bedroom". Not only did he embarrass Mariah and all the other women, he made sure to claim that these are just a few of his many partners. Nick grow up, you are in your 30s, you are not a kid. You are not only married, you have kids, so have some respect for your family and dress your age. (Saturday 29 March 2014; 10:16)

Favorite/least favorite covers (42,267) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Favourite album covers : Musicbox (She looks so beautiful, with the Monroe-ish vibe, I think I read somewhere that the cover was inspired by Marilyn.) Butterfly (The one with her eyes closed, so innocent yet sultry, just like the album.) TEOM (I love that she has that amazing powerful stance thing going. I'm the queen and I'm fabulous so move over.) E=MC2 (It's sexy and classy, although she's nude, it's not that visible so that's good. It's like a second black and white version of TEOM, which is fitting since its kinda the sequel to TEOM.) Least favourite abum covers: Charmbracelet, Rainbow Favourite single covers: Dreamlover, AYNAF, ABMB, Honey (I can't get over how gorgeous she looks, and that amazing hair flip), Heartbreaker, WBT, TAOLG. Album title (42,266) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Ugh I sincerely hope that's not the album title. While I agree with the person who said Mariah has proven herself already and has nothing to prove and may just choose to not release the album (I will be terribly sad but hey, Mariah's happiness comes first), however if she does choose to release the album as planned, I definitely hope that's not the title. Just "Mermaid" should be fine, if that's the theme she wants to keep. But Mermaid In Disguise? Does that even make sense? I saw a lot of posts asking why Mariah had 3 different versions of her on the MOAIA cover, I think Mariah confirmed it was because she wanted the cover to reflect the variety of emotions that the songs in the album portrays, I don't mind 3 of her on the cover, although the shadows and body proportions were unreal, but it's fine, I hope this time she goes for a more matured sexy cover, she is so beautiful she doesn't need much to look good. Terna/ JLo (42,169) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Terna, your post is my favorite among all the Ariana posts. Six words to just put an end to the whole useless argument. Moving on, did you guys check out JLo's new song/video? Terrible, terrible song. I had to stop it mid way because of the annoying chorus and the overall bad quality of the song. I don't know what they were thinking when releasing that song as a single. Mariah can write a better song even while sleeping. Makes me appreciate how lucky we are to have someone who is a musical genius. (Monday 17 March 2014; 9:24)

If you would read closely, I used the phrase "or just for the sake of argument let's say" Mariah "totally ripped off" the other singers. I said that to make a point. I don't think in any part of my message I wrote you said it. So please maybe read it again to see for yourself. I just meant "let's assume she totally ripped the others off". I'm very much aware that you meant she was inspired. Mariah has been owning her style since the very first song she ever released, whether it has been inspired by people she look up to or not. She definitely takes inspirations but always inserts her own creativity. I don't think there is a single song where people can say "oh MC totally ripped off Whitney or Aretha or whatever". Nope, I'll just say this again, taking inspiration is one thing, ripping off is another. MC has been doing the former, Ariana the latter. Whether Ariana grows out of it, will be seen in future, I'm talking about the present sweetheart, and the truth is quite "in your face". And also, I said this before, I'll say it again, hey atleast Mariah acknowledges her influences, unlike Miss Grande who keeps denying her songs are influenced by Mariah, when they quite blatantly. Mariah (42,133) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I won't get into any arguments but I would like to point out that saying Mariah is making the same song again and again is not true. Triumphant (albeit hated by most, but I like it) is an upbeat hip hop infused motivational song, #Beautiful a fresh, throwback sound with the vocals against an amazing guitar riffs. TAOLG a raw song, letting her voice take the spotlight and not over produced. Then comes YME, a sweet RnB love ballad, which starts of cutesy, has a hypnotic feel and then ends with some power vocals. I don't know which songs you all have been listening to, but the fact that the 4 released songs that were meant for her new album are completely different from each other just shows that Mariah really has been cooking up different songs for the upcoming album. Tiina (42,111) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Yes definitely MC probably took some inspiration or just for the sake of arguement let's say she totally copied the styles of the singers you mentioned, but look at your post, she perhaps "totally copied" Aaliyah for Babydoll, Alicia Meyers for MIH and all, but that's "one" song in like one album, whereas almost "every" song in Ariana's album is a rip off of Mariah's work, especially Daydream. So please, don't just say you don't see a difference between her and MC. I will agree with you if you say that MC sometimes behaves erratically or snobbish in some interviews, I'll agree if you say that some of her recent songs don't have the depth of her previous ones (although that doesn't necessarily mean I don't like them) and I'll agree with you that MC needs to work on her live performances, but no way in hell will it be fair to say that MC has been ripping off other singers in the same fashion that Ariana is doing. There's a difference between taking inspiration (or heck ripping off ideas) from singers in "one" song every now and then, and ripping of one artist's songs in "every" song in one album to the point that it seems like its Daydream 2.0 (without the maturity) and then having the audacity to say that her style is different from Mariah's. Thirsty / Ariana (42,101) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter In the recent interview MC says that she can't wait until her fans hear "Thirsty" when the album comes out, I'm a little disappointed because I was hoping she released that or the Mike Will track before the album release. I hope she just said that because she didn't want to reveal her plans about another single. About Ariana, please enough with that argument, so Mariah didn't acknowledge Ariana's existence, boo hoo, get over it. Nobody wants to hear that there is now a "younger" version of them to possibly replace them (ugh I cringed at myself for even writing that Ariana can replace MC). Why is it so hard for people to just accept that yes eventhough M is a multimillionaire record setting/breaking superstar, she is still insecure and feels threatened. I think it's perfectly normal, and it's not like she didn't say she doesn't care about Ariana, she wished youngsters well. She's a busy person and I don't think it's shocking if she never heard of Ariana or didn't hear Beyonce's new chart burning song. Give it a rest, it's not like Ariana is any better, she keeps going out of her way to claim her style is different than M's, when actually we all can hear it's a major rip off. After years of being controlled, M finally found her freedom in 2005 when she did what she wanted and was acclaimed for that, only to again have people write her off, so yes I think her insecurities are well justified.
