About Stacey from USA: Been a fan since 1993. Favorite albums include Daydream, TEOM, and Music Box. I love a good discussion, but won't stand for hateful comments because we disagree. I am too old to deal with drama and so are you. Keep it real with me and we'll have some fun. Peace.

Sorry, Bill started it. Edward blabbed my secret. I am an innocent victim here, lol.

No kidding. I read that the other day and my jaw dropped. Kids need a father in the home. They just do. No matter how famous or not your other parent is.

Re: Worst song ever made? (98,186) (98,188) by Stacey from USA
Please, I don't think it's that bad. Somewhat Loved is not her worst song. How quickly we forget Crapfinity.

Re: Undeniable MC (98,163) (98,178) by Stacey from USA
I think it's great MC has an "undeniable sound". It's exactly why she's managed to enjoy a decades long career. You put on an MC record and there is no doubt it's a Mariah Carey record. How many times on shows like American Idol or The Voice, X-Factor, AGT, etc do we hear contestants get praised for that special sound, something extra that separates them from the crowd? You put on a Beatles record, Madonna, Celine Dion, Michael Jackson and ask yourself what ties them all together? Their undeniable sound.

Definitely a classic from the best album ever, lol.

Re: Spoiler alert (98,129) (98,132) by Stacey from USA
As I kept having the breaking my heart line running through my head, I couldn't help but feel a bit of Crybaby pop up. Jam and Lewis worked on that song. Both have a similar vibe.

Re: Somewhat Loved (98,128) (98,130) by Stacey from USA
Yeah I couldn't wait either, lol. Thanks for the link. Definitely has potential. I kept thinking this is the type of song that sounds great on the radio. No big vocal moment but TOEM proved you don't need one. She sang then and now in her middle range and it works well. With the right arrangement dare I say she could even sing this live. Plus, I'm glad she ditched the guest rapper. Just MC and a sick beat equals a great song. Maybe a remix will see one? Who knows. I do hope it gets the promotion it deserves.

Re: New material (97,943) (97,951) by Stacey from USA
Honestly I never took what Andrew said seriously or personally. I could care less what he wrote sitting behind his computer screen, on his phone, tablet, whatever. He was thousands of miles from me. He was a person I'd never meet. I could care less if he said something snarky to me. He's just a bunch of words on my phone. So why take anything he said so personally? He never bothered me because I never let him "get to me".

When I first started interacting online at age 24, I took so personally things faceless people said to me online. I guess at age 43 now comes with it experience. I value more those relationships I have in person. That's real life. Not what some unknown person posts online. Peace out.

Re: Best opening line (97,792) (97,797) by Stacey from USA
Who made me the what you call it, opening line fairy? Um, me, lol. Haha. Besides if you're going to go that route, any good JD fan knows his best opening line is, "Ya'all know what this is?"

Anyways, I do agree with you about Hero. That was the first Mariah song I ever heard. People can bag on Tommy all they want. The guy made MC keep this song and record it herself and make a Christmas album.

"I, don't want a lot for Christmas..." Iconic.

Re: Best opening line (97,752) (97,783) by Stacey from USA
Great answers everyone. Keep them coming. And Andrew, "if Jermaine likes it then I like it" does not count. The Roof and My All sound more beautiful now that we know more of what inspired the songs.

"You look at me and see the girl, who lives inside the golden world. But don't believe that's all there is to see. You'll never know the real me."

I know that's a few lines, but Looking In has always been a huge favorite of mine. It describes how my life to perfection. My theme song of sorts.

Re: Best opening line (97,755) (97,757) by Stacey from USA
I love that. I remember when Barbara Walters asked her what she thought of her critics that counted her out. She's like well if they counted me out, they'll just have to count me back in. Iconic is right.

What's the best opening line to a Mariah Carey song? The one that started it all, "Treated me kind."

Re: Recounting the first bought album experience (97,660) (97,673) by Stacey from USA
Mine was Music Box. I was vacuuming in my family room. I had my back to the TV as VH1 (you know when VH1 and MTV actually played videos) started to air Hero. Seriously this experience is something out of a TV show. I turn around slowly and thought what is that voice? Who is that? The rest is history.
